Sorry guys I won't retype everything twice now. Worked all the day to get this pushed out. Now I am kinda tired! So this is just a quick first post. I will update it later. The first SuperFroyo Release is available now!
As promised by you in the "Good News..."-Thread -< I need testers now!
Here is the link + download + instructions for the first release of SuperFroyo for X1:
Android SuperFroyo
reserved for my mama and papa...naaaah future updates!!
IM downloading it. I will report back as soon as posible.
THANKS. IM very excited
Good!!
I am waiting for about 4hours lol
I want to work camera this version
btw thxxxxx
P.s: Pardon my English TT
I am gonna Try It Tonight...... Thanks .. Neo.. And All Devlopers........ Cheers
Its faster than any previous version of android on X1 and more responsive.
its seems very stable.
When i enter SupSetup it crashes. I guess that is CyogenMod setup but it doesnt work.
First haret boot is long. But then its very fast. After i hit haret it enters android very fast.
Scrolling in file manager and menu gerneraly is faster. And phone wakes up very fast. Before i had to wait 0,5 second or 1 second to unlock phone...now its instantly up. Hope you understand me.
3d seems better. I dont know if 3dHW accelleration is enabled. Carom3d was running very slow on tremers21/8 like 1 frame per two second. And now with this its running like 3 frames per second. Improvement but 3d games are still unplayable.
Next problem its battery status. When im charging its showing CHARGING for few seconds then its instantly showing 100% wich is not true. Then when i unplug cable its showin 50% and droping to 40% like 1% every 2 seconds. I was like WTF. Its not showing the right value.
Sliding beetween screens seems a bit laggy.
Before on 21/8 tremers when someone calls me i have to wait 3-4 seconds before i could se who is calling. Now on this version its very fast.
On XPERIA X1 generaly the ONE button on top is used for turning screen on and of, and for turning phone off. In your android version that funcion you assined to bottom right button (Drop/Cancel Call Button).
even when i hold that button i cant enter POWER OFF button becouse it tuns off display just after showing POWEROFF option.
i will try to test battery life time.
Kernel panic - not syncing, no init found.
What is wrong, I did everything according to instructions (I think )

As I wrote on my site SupSetup is not available atm. I removed apk! For me this build runs amazing compared to my HTC Diamond (also SuperFroyo so I have the direct comparation). It's really incredible also for me how fast the display wakes up! My Diamond needs sometimes up to 3secs or doesn't even wake up...
I also encountered the prob with powering off. But you maqy remap the keys. Another solution is to press AND hold down poweroff-button and then touch the display with left hand for reboot/poweroff. This works for me.
Nevertheles I am really confused how good it works. I also tested Neocore by pushing it! It gave me 18FP/s without overclocking. Don't know it exactly but how much do you get on Trem's build?

I know you propably followed everything but this is what i did.
Formated SDcard. Created 3.650 (not exactly) Fat32 partition and 350 Ext2 partition.
Copied everything on Fat32 partition with haret.exe been on root. From WM6.5 first i launched install.exe from npkinstall. After reboot i started haret.exe from root of SDcard.
That is all.

You think Please try to start from scratch. Seems like you made a mistake somewhere. In most cases you didn't partition correctly. Try it out a few times. It will work cause this build for X1 is noob-friendly if you have partitioned correctly! 3 Steps:
* Partitioning
* Running install.exe within npkinstall-folder
* Running haret.exe from root
Maybe you can have a look at documentation-folder. It contains some jpegs to help you out...
And please how do i change the black notification bar to original white???
Yeah, thanks for help Neopeek and denyboy, I noticed that as I had followed the partition sizes in the youtube video, I had ended up with 580 meg ext2. I will format again to 350 meg ext2
We will see, I will post the results!

You can change it in settings. Move to spareparts blablabla. Somewhere you will find Notification colors. Adjust them and then reboot Android!

Dont follow that complex tutorial. Just boot ubuntu or any other gnu/linux go to Gparted and delete all partitions then create new FAT32 and new Ext2 with adeqate size. That all.
Or use any other software for partitioning for Windows or GNU/Linux

Ok, now it works! The Android just did not like my 580 meg ext2 partition
And phew, it is FAST!
The battery driver goes crazy sometimes.
By the way, you mentioned about overclocking in your post in the other forum, is it possible?

Hey guys,
I've got a little problem for over a few months, so I thought why not ask it on XDA maybe all those smart guys know a solution!
Problem is that when i'm in a program (mail, music, sms, or any other app / game) and I press the home button, it always takes about 15 to 20 seconds before it's fully loaded. First after 3 seconds you see the blank background. Then the icons come back after like 13 seconds, then the widget(s) (i only have 2) and finally after some more seconds waiting it's all usable.
Well, it's a pretty annoying problem, everytime i have to look for something fast, I have to wait those 20 seconds. I can't find a solution, here is what i've already done:
1. It started with the CM 4.xxx roms so I wiped installed it again -> nope didn't work
2. Fully wiped everything including the ext partition and flashed Super D -> nope
3. Since CM 5 is out, wiped again and flashed CM5 -> nope...
The weird thing is, that when I freshly installed one of those roms, it seems to work but after a few app installs and phone useage, it starts lagging loading the home screen. And in 2 days it becomes worse untill every press is a looong load time!
I've got an Transcend 8GB Micro SD which is class 6 (should be enough). It was standard delivered with my T-Mobile G1. The ext partition is 457MB large (and there is 351 free space on it). Internal on the phone is now 21MB free. But even with 70 free it won't work...
I don't have swap enabled now with the new CM, but I did had it with Super D so that also doesn't seems to work. I've got Compcache enabled now. I REALLY don't know what to do... it just sucks that it takes so long to load, I hope anyone of you has a solution
Thanks!
Here is my approach:
In spare parts enable both comp cache (you indicated this is done) and launcher in memory.
The hope is launcher will not need to usually fully reload but can be compressed into the compcache when not is active use.
This applies to cm 4.2 and cm 5 on the dream.. every now and then the system will still kill the launcher if memory is tight so don't be shocked at it fully reloading from tike to time.. but usually it works out and keeps the phone very responsive.
Do not use swap.
(Well if desperate you can try 20-30mb but more than that will not work well with android memory management.. and even that small amount may do more damage to the SD card then actually help the system runtime.. I just don't use swap and attempt to back out of applications when done)
Thanks for the reply, i've done that and hope it will load a bit faster now I'll let u know!
Thanks it works great, my phone just feels so much faster now!
Hiho,
I've been working on getting the panel to unblank faster, not stall to unblank and to not show distortions on unblank (which also happens sometimes).
Please report your experience on blanking/unblanking the panel using the given packages. If you are unsure which one to use, use the dualdie one!
For dualdie (most common) devices: here
For monodie (rare) devices: here
Please report your device (topa100, topa210,...).
If some lone Rhodium user comes by, don't hesitate to test if this breaks the known behaviour on your devices. (From the code, pretty nothing should work for rhods. Please confirm nothing is broken.)
Update: The code has been committed to gitorious. Fetch newer builds from the autobuild service. Thanks to everyone who tested!
Hi,
Kernel is booting fine on my topa100. The lights on the buttons light up immeadtly. Screen doesn't wake always fast. I normally wake up with power and menu button for unlock. This goes realy fast.

But the time from pressing power until the LCD is unblanked is seriously faster now compared to regular kernels, no?

boots fine, see this is new 28 package,
freaking, apocalyptic, incredible fast screen.
would almost never think about that fast.
thank you very much. all i need now is a better battery or power management and HW3D working.
I've got a monodie device, the zimage & modules seem to work fine for me but I don't notice any speed difference on unblanking. So I guess if it works well for dualdie devices we know that it won't upset those of us with monodie devices.

Haha, just fooled myself. At least the last package for monodie devices which was posted in the dedicated thread already contained the panel fixes, so you won't really notice a difference. Be told that it took approximately 2 to 3 seconds to unblank before So just go on using the kernel posted here until the monodie issue has been solved.

Ah, tricky. Thanks for looking out for us monodie guys.
For me (my TOPA200) it's different. Most times it's really fast, sometimes the screen left black and I must press home button a second time.
No other (new) problems at this time.
Greetings and thanks for your great work

I still "owe" you guys a proper fix. Cotulla - one of the HD2 kernel devs - might need this for the HD2, too. So I see a chance we can find a way of getting the required changes/extensions into HaRET.

Yap, when device is in idle sleep mode, it shortly wakes (red LED) and sleeps (green LED) immedeately. Only pressing home button helps. But If I recall correctly, that also happened with the old panel setup/init code, it just took longer to fail waking up the lcd panel. I wouldn't clarify this as a regression as it also happened before, just "behaved" a tad bit different due to the long panel waking times. Another issue to be sorted out later ...
Topa 100
Wow, it is awesome.
I never feel the screen wake up that fast before. However, the screen left black and I need to press home button a second time.
You did a very good work and keep it up.
Tested on my Topa100.
"monodie" version cannot create data.img and crashed, "dualdie" booted and now wakeup works much faster.
Thanks!
TOPA100
Dualdie works perfect and gives a much faster feeling!
Thanks for this update!
This dualdie package works fine on my topa100 device.
The screen tuens on incredibly fast, just like(or even faster than) what the WinMo does!
If I "actively" turn on and switch off the LCD, the LCD would react very fast (i.e what I have mentioned above).
However, if the device is standby for about 10sec or longer, usually, the LCD would not turn on. In this situation, i need to press the power again and the LCD turns on immediately.
Also, i found that, in this kernel, pressing the power key would have a higher chances to turn on the LCD than pressing the "end call" key.
Thanks for these positive replies peeps!
I also can observe that it won't power on when in "pm idle sleep mode". When holding end-key for a little bit longer it awakes. Using the home button immediately gets it out of sleep correctly.
I am not quite sure this is a regression or not, but I am of the opinion that this also happened with the old (slow) panel init code, just wasn't as present that much.
Will take a look.
I tried your package on my pure(topa210) and it worked great! Before it took almost 5 secs to unblank, now only 1 or 2 secs!
Very good job, the dualdie version works prety well, wakes the display very fast, but if i continuously lock then wake up few times it will stuck on the blank screen for some secs, then after works again.
monodie or dualdie?
I've got a T5353 TOPA100 but how do I know if I've got a dualdie or monodie device?
Edit: Is this fix ever going to end up in the main build?

First try to dualdie version, if that doesn't work out, you got one of the more rare monodie devices.
The panel fix is going to end up in the kernel when I find the time committing it gitirious.org had some problems at the start of the weekend...
Hello,
I just got my third really fast reboot if I can even call it a reboot.
The fastreboots (I'll call it FRB from now on.) always happened when the CPU was really busy
The phone were getting laggy and didn't respond anymore and the screen shut off but the 4 softbuttons still lit up.
The bootanimation was starting and stopped like 7 seconds later and the display showed the lockmenu.
the first time this happened I just thought "wow, what was a freaking fast reboot"
the second time I just said wtf and accidentally checked the uptime.. 2 days! the phone just rebooted but is still showing 2 days?
and now the 3rd FRB, checked the uptime -> almost 4 days
What the hell? Is someone else experiencing this?
All active apps are stopped and everything is just like a normal reboot
ROM: CyanogenMod 6 08172010 Nightly
Kernel: 2.6.35-925mV-1113MHz-BFS-SVS-AIX-720p-Monks-081610 (max clock: 1036; min: 245; interactive)
And I think I also noticed a FRB before using this kernel and a previous CM6 nightly
I've had this happen too. The only thing I noticed is it happened after my phone had been idle for a long period of times. Its happened roughly 3-5 times for me. As a windows user I admit it didn't concern me much lol
It's not a reboot, it's Android restarting. The back-end Linux stuff stays up. Pretty obvious when it's the boot animation you see, not the solid X.. And as you say, it's pretty fast.
And yes I suspect there's a watchdog.. If the whole system is stalled for > N seconds, restart it. Waze does this to me once or twice a week.
Yeah, this has been happening to me a lot more lately, especially when I start installing apps from the market after a wipe and restore, it messes up the market. It also messes up on Titanium backup. Getting very annoying.
Has happened on Enoms, and LeoFroyo ROMs.

Yes, makes sense
I've been calling it a random/soft reboot and it has been happening with eclair as well.
Happens for me too, got this stuff twice, both at car's dock with GPS and navigation on.
Isn't this kind of reboot a documented thing? How comes?
EDIT: not OC/UV, enom's 2.11.3.
because it seems its only mainly happening on custom roms lol
I don't think it's the custom rom. At least not enom's one, because of his conservative kernel policy. Looks more like something with overheating (both times it happened for me I've used a car dock with 3g,bt,gps on and charging)...

Not overheating for me.. It's anything that bogs the system, as previously explained. But of course there could be many paths to this issue.
It's not the roms....I'm totally stock running FRF91 with absolutely no root access enabled and this happened to me yesterday. It caught me off guard too because like others said my phone went into a state of sluggish responsiveness and then all of a sudden it jumped right to my boot animation, no big X. about 5-8 seconds later I was back at the homescreen watching my Widgets load up like they do when the phone first boots up.
Is it possible to create an app that forces this kind of reboot? I think not

Quite an old thread here, never the less: any chance of reproducing this without ADB acces but on the device itself? Quite handy when playing around with the new T-Mobile Theme Changer and instead of a lenghty reboot reloading the shell would suffice. Eh...?
Sense ROMs have the feature ("Hot restart"), so it's reproducible.

Well, you can stop the shell via terminal on the phone but then you'd have no way to start it again...
A week ago I used a CM Nightly and noticed the 'Suspend' mode in the powerbutton menu (when you hold the powerbutton). I pressed it and it kinda rebooted like this. Not sure if it's what I meant in post 1 .. and it's not in the nightlies anymore

There are a few apps on the market that can do this, it's called hot booting (Search for hot boot). The only one I can see that is free is root toolbox but I couldn't get it to work on my S2. Quickboot plus has the option and it works just fine.

Installing as I type! Can't wait the original kernel to get the battery related patches!
I am having a wired problem - after a while on standby, upon waking up the phone, it freezes. Clock doesn't advance and phone does not respond on buttons/slider. So I do a soft-reset after which in winmo I get a message sdcard is not formatted, do I want to format it. and indeed file system is damaged. And this happens for a second time in a row now! I havent had problems like that with other distributions, at least ones that require ext2 partition. Anyone have advice?

well, i cant charge
So far, it's perfect. Two issues that need to be resolved before I use it permanently is the charging and the battery drain.

Hey guys, my Galaxy S should arrive tomorrow.
@all Developers:
Thank you very much for the good work, keep it up
@the rest:
I wish you good luck, that you can enjoy android on your X1 as i will do it on my new phone.
Maybe i'll look back in here from time to time, to see the progress.
Best regards from germany
See ya!

Total performance is smooth
My location , Wi-Fi, Market , Battery Meter , GMail, Sound, Music is working
other function. i didn't use it.
Overall performance is good, but Force Close dialog is too much show..... when i try to do anything. there's a delay (about 5~10sec?)
All of you guys should really post which kernel you are using. It will be very helpful for the developers!
I am downloading at the moment, will try the kernels and post the results
Original kernel + points about FroyoRedux:
- Charging works (I had it plugged when I launched Android, actually does increase WM battery percentage, too)
- Battery meter shows too much, but I think it will calibrate itself if I finish charging
- Speaker bug is there, headphone plug and unplug fixes that
- A bit faster than CyanogenMod6 with Tremere's kernel
- Nice theme
- Mass storage does not work (should I install a driver or something?)
- Sometimes stops responding to any other key than the top power button = home
- 3D does not work
- Sound and calling work fine, cannot adjust in-call volume (possibly due to the keys not working, but I had this problem with CM6+Trem too)
- Pretty much every app works, YOUTUBE TOO (lags a bit, but works)!
New testkernel:
- Phone reboots when first screen of android comes up
- I just replaced files, it crashed at lockscreen
- Ran a new installation, it crashed at black android system (title) -window
SuperFroyo kernel:
- Fastest one, menu scrolling is pretty nice with this kernel
- 3D does not work, Neocore crashes
- Sound works
- Youtube works, and lags less than with original kernel
- Charging does not work, battery meter shows what comes to it's mind

Tried copy/paste of those two files straight into root of SD-card (can only guess as it's not written anywhere). Phone reboots as soon as it comes to PIN-code page. Tried to restart a couple of times but nope.
Tried the SuperFroyo-kernel as well. Much faster in comparison to kernel from tremere's build 21/8.
Else, nothing more to add other then lkoljo wrote.
Big thx!
tried this kernel
xperia-xdandroid-kernel-20100922
Sound didn't work??
I'm useing the test kernel now, and it booted up without any problems
Gonna test Battery life for 2 hours, then switch back to vm to see if it gives good result's
Did you use the test-kernel from scratch. I mean when first booting up? or did you try first included kernel then after booting up you replaced kernel? I ask this because it's just not clear for me: You say it works w/o hassle and others report that they can't even get into the Launcher or that they have a black screen. I am just confused now
I did first use Tremere's Kernel with your build, and then i just copied the test kernel start from vm and booted it up. It's fast and stable it seems, i did use Android in standby mode for one and half hour. Well i did look around in system meny and such tried calling it but no signal just vibrate wich i did turn on. Battery used in android is 20% from fully charged 100% Switch back to vm says 78% so the meter seems almost correct. Tried original charger but it didn't work, Then tried pc usb charging and it seems to work Gonna try Xdandroid's new kernel now released today. Will get back to you tomorrow
I have now tested the new Xdandroid kernel released 23/9/10 for one and half hour now, switched back to vm and guess what?
i had 100% when i started android, used it for one and a half hour and then i switched back to vm it had only used 9% battery
Thats the best result i ever had using android, so hey if only sound/ mic problem gets fixed then this would be great
Grab the new kernel from thier Xdandroid wiki
I have tested 21/09/2010 [Xperia X1][FroyoRedux-Port][CM6] with the latest kernel from xdandroid (23/9/10) and it works very well, stable and fast. And the battery is a big improvment!!
I also overclocked it to 640mhz and the UI is then superfast.
Keep up the good work

FYI: In the next days there will be heavy updates regarding some of my builds. Fixed almost everything I could! Just trying out today some of the kernels released lately and then I think we will have a really really good CM6-Ports ready for all of you! Everything that's working in XDAndroid "Final" should then also work for us! So maybe I will call my builds "Pre-Final". Another thing that I should mention is that user ferlanero from xda-devs has today shipped over his X1 from Spain to Germany (my location). Once I receive it I will be going to try some NAND-related stuff!
X1 from user sequester will be my porting-device to test ports and latest nightlies from Cyanogen
X1 from user ferlanero will be my nand-test-device
Be prepared to get the proposed updates (see above) on this weekend. Again speical thanx to sequester and ferlanero for supporting me! This really motivates me in doing all this stuff!
Yes zimage to at lest i did

Froyo FRG83 - Android 2.2.1 Beta-Release [06-11-2010] from neopeek
it needs ext2 partition
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FD0Y3LPR
You can find more info on this link
http://www.neopeek.com/en/forum/Son...o-FRG83---Android-221-Beta-Release-05-11-2010
I used it today for a long time and everything was so fast and i had no problems accept for:
-sometimes it will and sometimes it wont charge
-in market when downloading app i have to cancel and click download again in order for download to start.
-other small issues like battery status.
I had apsolutely no crash. I made and recieved 12 calls today and 3 sms without any problems. Havent tested battery life but it seems OK. Market works, Wifi,...etc.
its uses sp3dev zImage.
This is first port of android that is accually usable for everyday work. I used it all day without any major problem.
We are very close to fully working version. Thanks to everyone.
You should definitly try it if you have not.
thanks!!!!

10x
i'll try it right now
10x
What makes that build more usable than previous ones?
haven't tested it yet, but most other neopeek's buils are fast ans have no problems except little ones you are mentioning in first post.
How is battery life in that one?
Lets put it out this way. I tried them all and this one is best so far.
Battery drain is slow becouse it uses sp3dev files i think. Havent still tested full battery life time but i think its great. Will test it later.
Its been on all day and no restart, no crash, no lag, no slowdown.
I made and recived 16 calls and 5 sms till now without any problems.
Most of other ports do eventually freeze, restart, crash or slowdown. But this one still works perfectly. In combination with good battery time its best port so far.
So far we had ports with stability but bad battery time.
And lately we had ports with good battery time but other stuff was not good.
This one combines it all (good stuff)
Wifi works, headphones work, calls work, its very fast.
Sometimes you have to wait minute till download from market starts.
There are other small issues. I think bluetooth dont work.
But for me this is so far most usable ROM.
P.S. I installed Launcher Pro.
The issue with market (to need to cancell download and start again) is something usual on all devices so don't worry about that.
Battery consumption is about 9-10% per hour with 3G network and little usage.
So we have about 10-11 hours of use with this ROM.
Hmm... I tried to install it following this tut : http://www.neopeek.com/en/forum/Que...-tosWheresWhens---All-right-here!?lang=en#525
But... it seems that INSTALL.exe install everything in a folder, not in my ext2 partition ... oO
Did u use this way to install it ? denyboy
EDIT : Ok , ext2 wasn't set as primary ..
couldn't connect Wifi (wifi connected but doesnt find my accespoint :/) + cant share connection everything else seems ok

have you tried turning on Wifi in Windows Mobile before starting haret.exe
I got it working. So, if I have to reboot the device, I have to get into WinMo first and run Haret everytime?

this is the fastest build i ever tested. but still i have some problems:
-battery dosen't charge more than 70%
-gallery sometime crashes
-wallpapers dosen't fit, the image i crop form the wallpaper si more smaller than the screen resolution
is good at:
-battery life time via 3g or wifi
-dosen't heat the battery
-neocron test 18.7 fps (faster the Xperia-Xdandroid-X1 4.11 v2)
-very smooth animations
-browsing is fast
-market is working
-media player works greate (untill now)
-has file explorer
ill keep on testing
