Hello everyone
I noticed that I dont have this option in my device.

Is there a way to add it?
Thanks
I don't have the option menu like on your first pic, but I do have the alphabetical list thing, I just have to press the options button when on the grid and press the right button that appears: 'list view'... I would like to have the alphabetical grid though that would be nice but I thought it was never implemented in the final touchwiz 3.0, correct me if I'm wrong..
That's not a Samsumg ROM. The leaked/official Samsumg ROMs have Phone, Contacts, Messagging and Home in the bottom row, and do not have that menu.
You can switch between grid and list view but not change the sorting order.
The sorting order is decided on first boot, when it detects your SIM and creates the names for the apps, then it sorts them in alphabetical order in your language.

The bottom row can be customized by the applications you want even on stock firmwares. Just go to the application menu, click the menu button on the device, choose edit and replace any shortcut you want by dragging it to the bar.

Basically the message subject says it all... I have a bunch of things in the today screen but when I slide open the phone I want some to be hidden so there is no scrollbar on the side (really annoying)....
Is this possible and if so how do I do it??
Thanks.

You probably have large start menu installed.
Heres an image of what I am talking about.... I dont think its the start menu because when I am in landscape the start menu automatically creates a section called "more..." for the items that dont fit.

I think this may have something to do with the Quick launcher which has 5 icons for my pictures, task launcher, camera, music and phone.... this cant be seen in the image but is there a way to hide this program in landscape???? I dont see any options for this.
Thanks.
ADDITION: I was able to make this somewhat more tolerable by un-docking the HTC home plugin... still wish there was no scrolling though.
I was wondering if there was a launcher out there that does the same thing that TWL does where you can bring up your apps, then just press one of the overhead dots to quickly go to that particular page (column) of apps? I was told that LP doesn't have the functionality, & I played with ADW today for a bit, but couldn't find a setting...
Bottom line: me no likey da scroll-y.
If you install SGS Tools there are different variations of Touchwiz. Just go to upgrade stock apps and then upgrade tw launcher.
Yeah, I've already got the updated version installed; was just wondering if there was another launcher out there w/the same functionality. le sigh.
EDIT: Do you want that feature in the app drawer?
If by "app drawer," you mean the screens/columns that you see when you hit the button to bring you to all of your apps, then yes. I'm referring to the dots @ the top of this image:

But you aren't the first person to suggest Zeam. Maybe I'll see if that's got what I'm looking for today...
*Edit - tried Zeam, & unless I missed it, it doesn't have it, either.
Alright, I've changed this before but I just can't remember how...
I have a page that is full of contacts that I access most often. I just recently changed the picture of a contact and, in order to update the pic on the contact shortcut that I made, I had to erase the old shortcut and add a new one after updating the contact pic. When I did this, however, it added a different type of contact icon than what I have set as all the others.
Here's a pic:

}
As you can see, the contact icon in the top middle is completely different than the rest. They used to all pop up like that but I've been able to change it in the past.
I'm running CM7 with Luncher Pro if that helps. I just want all the icons to look the same and I don't like the style that has popped up on there (I believe it's the default Android icon).
Any help is MUCH appreciated!
I'd also like to note that nothing else on my phone has changed since updating to CM7 several months ago and adding Launcher Pro....I was able to create all of the other contact shortcut icons with exactly the same phone setup as I still have.
hi guys, i been trying to change the "phone" app icon with apk manager 4.9 but without result. i'm able to change icons on some other apps but not phone icon. i've change the ic_launcher_phone.png in phone.apk, contacts.apk and telephony.apk but the phone icon is still the same. any help would be much appriciated.
I'm going to need a screenshot to see what phone icon you are talking about.

. that is how it's displayed on the phone app drawer/desktop. i want a different icon.
If its ADW then you can just change it to a custom icon simply by long pressing on it and selecting to change it or something. I think.

i want to change system icon.png not launcher icon.
Background:
Since 4.x, Andorid's standard design doesn't include menu button any more. HTC one followed and doesn't have a hardware key of menu button, it's good. It sill have this function though: you need to enable in settings, and then you can use long-press home button to do so. There is no visual indicator to show if an app has menu button or not.
Unfortunately, even now, there are still some stupid apps using menu button. I use one daily.
---------------
Since 5.0 update, HTC changed its way a little bit: the hardware key can still be set up to have menu function as I mentioned above, but along with this there will be a floating menu button on your screen if you're in an app which has menu button enabled.
My question is: since I already know I can long-press home button to call the menu, so I don't need this floating virtual button. And it's very annoying visually and blocking other things. How can I hide it?
Thanks.

Images showing the button. It's floating, so you can drag it.
