I seem to be having some issues getting my protected apps to work, the saved build.prop I used to use no longer does the job, and I'm having some odd issues using another one. I am running JM8+voodoo beta 3+autokiller (aggressive) and when I use a different build.prop the autokiller just doesnt seem to want to kill empty apps. Any help with how to fix this is appreciated, if anyone knows of a guranteed way to get the apps back editing my own build.prop I would appreciate it, also I have tried the eris market fix which didn't work, thanks.

Daft but what I found worked was to run the free Eris Market Fix then reboot the phone and then run the donate version of Eris Market fix and and as if by magic the paid apps are back. Didnt work either on their own or in a different order only that way for some reason....???

Tried it on JM1, JM7, JM8 & JMC and all worked the same...?? Go figure..??
Has anyone else confirmed this method? Sounds tight, but why should I donate if it doesn't fix my market! lol
I guess I can refund it if it doesn't...

Okay, maybe you can do us all a favor the next time you have to go through this process:
Make a copy of build.prop before you do anything.
Run Eris Market Fix free version, then make a copy of build.prop again.
Run Eris Market Fix donate version, then make a final copy of build.prop.
Then we can compare the files and see what changes between the two different runs of Eris.
It really was black magic for me to get the Market to show "protected" apps on JM8. None of the usual methods worked, despite trying them all. It took a couple of days for it to get right, and sadly, I don't even remember now what finally worked.
I tried to hack the build.prop... No go.
I Ran Eris Market Fix (free)... Worked right away.
I changed build.prop back to my hacked build.prop... Still worked.
Go figure.
Anyone know if eris market fix will work on 2.2 roms?
Edit: Yes it does!

EDIT: Sorry, this is not the root that requires a kernel swap. this one is just a pain in the a*#!
Give it a day or two, if the OCLF or Z4 don't show back up you could always try THIS
However, be advised - it does require a kernel swap.
I was looking around few app websites and came across PandoaTV
so I went to my market was not able to find it.
So I told my friend about it and he was able to download it but he has HTC from tmo.
I am using right now the newest phoniex rom...... and thought I did all the things to unlock the market but I guess not.
Can someone else with a cap see if they can find it in the market place?
And if so what you did to get to be able to DL it?
From what my friend got it seems like a pretty good quality app for streaming tv.
Just a thought that I would share "about" this app while trying to found out how to fix it haha ^^
Thank you~!

Yea can someone post the apk....it is a free app correct
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA App
its not the "ROM" but it is the CSC file included in the rom that is the issue for you. the phoenix rom is made in UK. either flash a US csc file OR use the app `Market Enabler`it allows you to temporarily change your CSC for the market, until reboot.
my market is funky
sometimes it works
sometimes it doesnt
I cant dl anything sometimes or update
sometimes I can... =/
its not the phone because I changed it twice...
If your Netflix app wont update heres the APK go to XDA home page and select Android Hacking then choose the one about games and stuff and there it will be . Sorry cant post link maybe someone on a computer could help.
If i helped you please thank me
I just upgraded to gingered 0.07 and tried installing netflix, only to find out that I need to update it before it will let me log in.
Please, if someone has the new apk, can you post it here so we can continue to use Netflix on our phones?
here's the link:

Forgot where I saw it first but I just edited build.prop to make the market think my phone was a nexus one and downloaded it directly. Worked every time.

I'd really appreciate a chance to try this out. Is it because I have less than 10 posts? It does say that that's just to post on the dev forum. I just want to download it.
dunno if it was a fluke for me, but i just Odin'd EG22 (Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1184134) and searched Netflix in the stock marketplace app. Found that it wasn't blocked from the epic anymore. Figured i'd give that a try before running the modified versions. Found the app, and installed without a problem. Loads MUCH faster too. Came from EF02.
EDIT/ maybe my marketplace has been tweaked already?... didn't read anything about that and says its stock... anyways give it a shot

yeah, the app is downloadable from the market and it does work on my Epic running SRF 1.2 atop Genocide 1.1. the overall responsiveness is a bit sluggish, and only being able to access my instant queue is really annoying - you'd think an official Netflix app could have an actual means of managing you DVD queued - but streaming video absolutely works.
thanks, tried it out and works like a charm.
For some reason Netflix still has the poor quality buttons at the top of the app. I'm not sure if its suppose to be like that, but has anyone experienced that?
its not a big deal, just curious.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
The app buttons stink. But even the website buttons look screwy sometimes on Chrome. I think it's just Netflix not keeping their tech up to snuff. Maybe that's why they are changing the rates on their plans.
So I downloaded netflix from the market, and it says in the list of supported devices that the HTC Thunderbolt is one. Now it does install and accepts your username password, you can see your qeue and it attemps to play the vid, but fails with a DRM required message. any one else seeing this? if you search for it it will not appear, but if you select apps, all apps, free apps then scroll down its listed. click install and try to enjoy a mostly usable app.

it will never work on stock or rooted froyo for the thunderbolt (at least not without netflix directly supporting it). person that said it did on that forum is full of it. amount of effort to make it work would not be worth it. GB will be out soon and nearly everyone has it already on here. Anyone who wont root to get netflix obviously doesnt want it bad enough

Ok ok, im not a dev, but.... Look at the LG Revolution. It is running 2.2.1 and netflix runs perfectly out of the box. in my ignorance, I dont know why it would be any more dificult to modify it to work with other froyo devices. Im sure one of the software type bullys will pick me appart here.. By the way... XDA isn't a friendly place any more. boo to flamers... (will probably get flamed for that) HA

Netflix does NOT need GB to function, it appears as if it needs it for the TBolt but not overall. That being said they made Droid Bionic support available so take everything with a grain of salt. Maybe GB will be coming soon and rather than fix issues with the TBolt again soon they figured set it up for GB and users can use it then (and root users now ).

Uninstall, download from market & reinstall.
I never understood the appeal of watching netflix on a cell phone. I tried it a couple of times & never finished the movie. Tablets & netbooks are much better suited for that job, imho

Looking for a fix as well. Surprised a definitive answer hasn't been posted yet unless I missed it. One Guy posted his build.prop but I don't know exactly what to change
Well I imagine someone eventually well help us out. I'm going to keep googling in the meantime. I found someone who had the issue on the vibrant and someone had a new build.prop to give him and it worked, but he didn't say how to install the build.prop. Just said "Swap this one out with your old one"...and? How exactly do I go about doing that?
It can be done with root explorer

No terminal commands needed.
Get a root file explorer
Navigate to /system
There you will find the build.prop
Open that with any text editor, or copy it to your sdcard and use NotePad on your pc. It's just a plain text file.
Once all edited. Save and reboot.
Make sure your system is mounted r/w or it won't let you change anything in that partition.
Cool, so I have another stupid question : what do you change the build.prop too?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Kind of depends on what ROM you are running and what in the build prop is incorrect. Sometimes when running i9000 roms your build will be written to reflect your phone as no longer being an I897. It happened to me many moons ago. Luckily the rom thread had an updated build prop posted. Search for the Market Fix apk in the market. That allows you to change your signature that the market views your phone by. You may also try Market Enabler there's a few different versions to choose from, just a temporary ID changer.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Ok but what do I change EXACTLY to have it recognized by the market as a Samsung Captivate? And why don't these cyanogenmod developers fix this? It's a common issue why ignore it? Arghhhhhhh I'm getting irritated. A guy on the cyanogenmod forums said to use root explorer and change manufacturer to samsung and model to nexus s. I did that and only freaking difference is my XDA app says I'm using a nexus s. The market is still the freaking same and i even freaking cleared the cache and rebooted. Yeah I'm irritated. Just bought Modern Combat 2 and can't play it because of this stupid problem!

To get everything to recognize it as a Captivate you need to chang eANYTHING that says Gt-i9000 to SGH-i897 and anything that says galaxysmtd or something like that to captivatemtd or whatever stock shows it as( I cannot remember what stock shows at this moment). But if you make these changes then xda app and the market and anything else will recognize it as a Captivate
