Hi everyone,
I am having a strange problem on my HTC pure.
I have yahoo mail configured on the phone. The phone downloads the mail just fine for a couple of weeks. But all of a sudden it will start downloading ALL messages from the server. Then it gets stuck at 99 [shows 99+] and never downloads new mail after that.
Please check the screenshots:

The only way to get rid of this problem is to delete my yahoo mail account and re-add it. Then it works fine for for a couple of weeks and the problem happens again.
This has happened to me 3 - 4 times now. Strangely, the other accounts [IMAP accounts from my domain name] don't do the same thing.
The account has the default settings....you know the standard - "download 3 days worth of mail".
I am running Energy ROM [Energy.TOPAZ.21914.Sense2.5.Cookie.Aug.22] but I remember this problem used to happen with the Stock ROM too.
Can someone please help me solve this problem?
You can set up a gmail account and forward Yahoo to gmail, they have a better spam filter anyways. Then you only need to support 1 account.
...and then add a Google voice account and you'll get your vmail in text and e-mail form.
HELP!
This happened again today.
I am at my wits end...HELP!

Duplicate Contacts Problem
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New problem - please help!! Last night I spent 2 1/2 hours deleting duplicate contacts from my Pocket Outlook Contact list. Strangely enough the desktop pc's that are syncing with the same Exchange server do not have the duplicate contacts - only my Kaiser!
Then tonight the same hundreds of duplicate contacts showed back up out of the blue again!!!! Strangley the duplicate contacts only have partial information - like missing email address or one of the phone numbers.
Tonight it seemed to be induced after installing PocketCM !

Hello,
Not sure if everyone is aware, but Google recently rolled out their OTA-push based Exchange service, which we can definitely implement on our Kaisers/Tilts. It's actually pretty handy, since it lets you sync your contacts, calendar and GMail messages all at once, using Exchange protocols.
Go into ActiveSync, choose "Add Server Source" and enter your GMail address and password, and it should auto-detect pretty much everything else. If asked for a server, enter "m.google.com"
I've found that it works pretty well, and if you set it up it will utilize the "Outlook E-Mail" account in your phone's picker. The only drawback I've found is that it inserted a zillion new contacts into my phone, mostly people I've e-mailed in the past. Dunno how to tell it to be more selective..
It's kinda neat! And it's server-push based, so your phone doesn't have to keep checking periodically.

That is pretty cool.
Cool thing, is there anyone who knows how could we set some contacts on the google to be ignored? So it doesn't insert all emails that google is aware of? I want most of them, but definitely not all, and I guess that if you delete them from the phone later, they will be deleted from the google as well.
Us users, never easy task to make us all happy
I had a bad flash, managed to get my phone back with odin but now I have no sms capability at all. Tried to load the handcent sms off of market and that was not what I was looking for especially having to start a program and log in every time I want to send a message let alone receive one. I loaded cog 2.3b8 and I still don't have sms. I tried to do a search and after looking through sms post (wouldn't let me search for no sms) for 5 hours I still haven't found an answer, can someone help please thank you.
If on at&t go to mms, menu, settings, make sure message center matches this

You could just re-flash and you should be fine. ODIN first then re-flash.
Thank you that took care of it.
Thank you mcord11758 for the number that was the problem. I was going to the wrong screen to.
still have no outgoing sms
I have set the number and I can receive sms but I still can't send any messages. I have gone to stock then went to cog 2.3b8, then went back to stock now I have tried phoenix 5.2 still nothing. Next I have loaded the samsung mms and still nothing. I still have the messaging on my plan as I can use messaging if I use my incite. Thank you for any assistance.
When I open contacts on my n6, I get a perpetual message saying "Contact list is being updated". When I looked at my Google account I noticed contacts was gone from the sync options. I tried clearing data on Contacts and Contacts Sync, that didn't work. I tried removing and re-adding my Google account and that didn't work. Any idea? I am stock and rooted.

Could be Lollipop?
My girlfriend's Moto X (2014) did this. The contacts were there for a few days then suddenly disappeared without warning (although a few - around 5 - remained).
On her previous phone, the Moto RazR, I had backed up to a MicroSD card but not bothered to use it as the sync had worked. I pulled the card, accessed the gmail account on my desktop PC and restored from the mem card. This was a bit of a pain but I merged some duplicates and added some photos at the same time.
I think I fixed it. I copied the contactsprovider.apk from /system/priv-app to /system/app and rebooted. It added contacts back to my google account and began syncing. Not sure wtf happened.
I had the same problem. Just rebooted and it came back
Not sure if there is a way to avoid it?
Hello everyone,
So I've got an XZ1 Compact with Android 8.0 (build 47.1.A.16.20), and the only thing which I can't fix and is very annoying is that, no matter what I do, Gmail notifications almost always come delayed.
Gmail is in power-saving exceptions:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Also it has unrestricted data usage:
Also I even disabled Stamina whatsoever.
Still, it often happens that notifications aren't delivered, and then I hit the power button, phone wakes up, and after a few seconds throws a lot of notifications, for all those emails which were sent since the last time I woken it up.
The problem is the same independently of whether I'm on mobile network on wifi.
It's only Gmail; other apps (like Viber, Telegram, etc, don't have those problems, they sync perfectly well).
Any chance it could be fixed? Is there anything else I could do, besides adding Gmail to power-saving exceptions and giving it unrestricted data usage? Anyone else has this problem?
Thanks!
Ok it looks like finally there is a solution: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/guide-notification-fix-100-t3865551
