Hey there,
Phone was fine, no issues at all, i've been using the Samset 1.9e, JM5 and Kernel version 2.6.29 [email protected] #2 and the phone was just idling, and suddenly WhatsApp crashed.
I tried to restart it, it kept force closing, so i restarted the phone.
Upon restarting it took quite a long time, and then it went back to the default TouchWiz launcher (i run LauncherPro ) and gave me the error:
"Blank External SD Card
SD card blank or has supported file system"
Whats happening?
I tried remove the card, and putting it back in and rebooting. No difference.
fk now its restarting at random times.
Whats happening?!, it just switches off.

I scoured google and the forums for a problem similar to mine, and so far, not a single thing Iv'e tried has helped (and I've been trying stuff for ~4 hours now).
After getting my SGS back from the repair shop (for the second time), I took it home, rooted it, and loaded Darky's and SpeedMod on. When I rebooted my phone, the initial SGS screen (with all the writing) froze for ~2 mins, then proceeded onto the "Big S" screen. Once there, it froze, doing it's shimmering thing for ~5 mins, and FINALLY loaded up. Initially launcher refused to open, so I was left with a blank screen with a little status bar at the top. Once it loaded, the phone became so slow that it took at least a min to start any app.
I restarted the phone (seems to help half the time), and same story, so I booted into recovery and was greeted by a blue "2e" menu, not the green CWM menu that SHOULD have shown up, and had shown up only minutes before. (I have SpeedMod CWM).
I reflashed the SpeedMod Kernel, and rebooted my phone. This time, the phone booted up far faster than it had before. I went into the "My Files" app to make sure I remembered to load backups back on, and I get a "No SD Card Inserted". I went into "setting>sd card and phone storage", and both the internal and external sd cards are listed as having an "Unavailable" total and available space value. I tried pressing mount on both ext and int, but it just sits there and doesn't ever actually do anything. (Same story for the format options). I searched around, and tried a few solutions (Tbh, probably couldnt tell you everything that I did). The last thing I tried was repartioning the internal storage. Long story short, lots of steps, but it didn't work.
Im still able to use the phone to make calls and text and everything, its just the internal and external storages that I can't use. As of right now, under the "Sd Card and Phone Storage" screen, all the values are "Unavailable", with the exception of the phone storage, which reads "0.00B".
Note: If I put the SD's into my computer, they're fully read/writable.
2nd Note: Sorry if this really just is a manifestation of the "standard SGS problem". Didn't read of anyone with quite the same problem though.
Thanks. Really don't want to have to ship my phone off for another 2 months, for the 3rd time. :/
Edit: Tried opening the camera app, and I got a Toast: "Turn off USB Storage before using camera"
, I took it home, rooted it, and loaded Darky's and
my suggestion as always is to wipe that rom .
Flash stock Froyo Via Odin with pit 512 and repartition checked . That fails try Eclair .
jje
yea wipe is best
Hello everyone.
I am using the Cyanogen mod 7 on my Galaxy Ace. Everything was going fine, I used link to SD to make an Ext partition and linked/moved all apps to the SD card.
Today I went to sleep and rebooted the Galaxy cause it had been a long time since I powered it off. When I woke up, all the widgets were broken and I had some overlay saying "Safe mode" on the bottom. I rebooted and widgets kept broken.
I realized that ALL the apps on the SD were gone, so I suspected it was not mounted.
Now the problem is that I can't get the phone to read any SD card at all. New, old, formated...nothing.
Thanks in advance if you can help me.
Regards.
Up until a few weeks ago, my N1 worked fine. Rooted, CM7.
Then I got lots of FCs and decided to re-flash CM7.
It worked fine for a week or so until last night. It was fine before I fell asleep but dead next morning.
I can VOL.DN + POWER on and switch between FASTBOOT and BOOTLOADER/HBOOT
I can boot into ClockworkMod recovery.
Booting CM7 presents coloured X; then a blank screen (it may be off) and sometimes I get softkeys lit or flash once. Usually N1 vibrates slightly every 5 seconds or so. Only way out of this is to remove battery.
I have a very recent backup. but it or any of it's img files have MD5 errors.
So, either this image is bad, or perhaps I have a RAM error that also prevents phone booting?
Is there a log file I could look at (I can connect using adb)?
Is there a way to test RAM? Is there a PASSDIAG.ZIP or PASSDIAG.NBH image I could try?
I also tried re-flashing CM7 - no change.
Any other ideas?
Did you try to use another SD card to use in your device? It could be a SD card failure and is easier to fix than a RAM failure. I also remember reading in other threads that a SIM failure could make reboots and freezes in these devices
I had a similar problem in my Nexus One with the original ROM, but in my case I think that the failure was in some corrupted file in the system partition.
Doubt SD card nor SIM is issue
Same defect when SD card and/or SIM removed (except I can not attempt a restore with SD card removed).
So I don't think either is at fault.
SD card mounts fine when USB connected to a linux laptop under FASTBOOT (I think I did this) or RECOVERY.
Mine have a like problem, i only do a full wipe and start without SD and it worked
I have a really strange problem that started all of a sudden today.
When I used UMS to transfer stuff into my 8GB Sandisk micro SD everything was fine but when I unmounted and tried to access the card using the Documents file manager that comes in AOSP the app kept crashing. "Unfortunately, Documents has stopped working"
I tried all kinds of things like formatting the card with exFAT but it is still persisting. Sometimes the SD card wouldnt mount.
I tried the "Scan Fix" that comes when you plug it in a windows 7 pc but now even that option won't show up as sometimes the card just doesnt get mounted. Sometimes it did but sometimes it didnt
So i thought maybe that was the end of my card's life so I tried another SD card (1 GB) but the same thing is happening. It is mounting fine with UMS and i can copy stuff into / from it but the Documents app is still crashing. Have tested the same with two different ROMs and it crashes on both
I don't understand what the problem is. Surely both cards havent gone bad because the 2nd one works with another phone I have. I will have to check the 8GB one as well.
Anyhow, would anyone have any idea what is going wrong or what might be a possible solution for this?
Help :crying:
Quick update.
I flashed back stock and the card seems to be working (both of them)
What the hell?
What could have happened?
Update. Its somehow fixed after I have installed stock and re-rooted and flashed custom ROM :good:
EDIT: THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE BACK WTF?
EDIT: Documents is crashing but ES file manager works
Hi, I just upgraded yesterday my XT1068 to Android MM (Nexus Experience [http://goo.gl/Qc87Q7]).
And I was delighted to see the option to use my Samsung MicroSD card as internal memory. I installed all the apps I use frequently, restarted the phone and everything was fine till here.
I formatted my micro SD as internal memory, copied music, pictures and stuff using MTP to my SD, installed several apps and uninstalled some other that I didn't need anymore (Like 'Facebook Lite'). Wanted then to restart my phone to recovery mode, but it was restarting for ever and stuck with the rebooting animation, so I decided to press the power button for 3-5 sec to force shutdown the phone. But when my phone started again, everything I copied to the SD was gone, and files I removed were there again, apps like 'Facebook Lite' were mysteriously installed again as if I would have never uninstalled them.
In the launcher, all my icons and folders I organized, reverted to the positions and state I had before, last time I restarted my phone (before the forced restart when I lost the data).
What happened here? Looks somehow as if the partition table is being written back to the SD or phone memory when you are turning off the phone.. and remains in RAM during use.. Seriously?
Did such a thing happen to anybody else here? Is this how the new Android works? Every time your phone crashes or something, you'll loose all pictures and data that changed since last restart?..
Any information on this is highly appreciated.. Thanks.

i have a similar situation with my sd card and my xt1063, at the beggining i choose the option which makes the sd to save files and media. today the phone turned off because the battery was empty, at the time that i tried to turn on the phone it says that the sd card need format and now when i connect the sd card to the pc it is in RAW format. i think that the new system for "initializating" sd cards is broken or something, or simply we have bad luck or else.
edit: i have stock android 6.0 retla
sorry for my english pls
