Droid 2 Lockscreen - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was messin around with my friends Droid 2 today when I noticed the slick lockscreen. I personally think the nexus lockscreen is kinda ugly but anyway, any chance of getting that ported to the nexus?

Looks laggy. I was hoping for some kind of animation that bounces or something like that...
It may be laggy but it is a work in progress i would like to have this

it looks like an emulator which never is smooth from what i've seen... if its not an emulator, then its obvious as to why the battery bar is charging lol. AMAZING idea, i just hope its not a battery drain. On the other hand, i barely use live wallpapers, not too sure i'd use this... BUT, maybe we are closer to widgets/weather animations inside the pulldown...
I read that you only have to change one file and it will only use battery when you pull it down. Maybe weather information/animation would be good.

WOW...that's nice.
Can someone make this happen for our nexus s device the people over on the Samsung epic forums got it up and running and it looks cool to have.

you can easily do it by yourself using the UOT Online Kitchen:

thats what im talkin bout with the DCPU and 1gig ddr2 it would be awesome to have sense on this thing
Try beautiful widgets. Its close to the sense clock and has weather effects. Its a good alternative.

The only thing I miss from sense is the weather on the home screen from BAMF 1.8.6 I don't even know what version of sense its from, that was the only time I ever saw it.
Widget Lockers new update has a sick default unlock for sense 3+ and ICS. That'll get you somewhat there.

Droid RAZR Motoblur Port to Droid 3

Is there a possibility that someone can port the motoblur from the DROID RAZR to the DROID 3 ? I like the blur on the razr and we could get it, but I wanted to see if we could get it.
Thanks
Sam

What's so special about the RAZR's rom? Isn't it essentially the same thing just with smart actions? It seems a lot easier just to try copying the smart actions apk over to the Droid 3 or just using a similar application that provides the same functionality.
I like the darker color scheme and the text below the apps on the main row on the home screens I like as well, but that's just my opinion.

Well as long as hashcode is working on CM9 this isn't such a big deal to me, and but I would love some of the features as well. The browser is supposedly way better then the Droid 3, and the transition between windows is quicker then the Droid 3 as well.
ICS now has the browser and all that working. Just waiting for the audio and camera from hashcode. Couple weeks i think

The stock ICS browser is freaking awesome... just saying

Am I the only one who likes the stock UI?

Seriously, I'm in love with it. I had originally planned to go to a tablet ui but it just doesn't feel right. At least on a 7in it doesn't.
- there's already enough room on home screens
- rather pull down notifications than tap from bottom
- don't like combined bar.
Anyone else feel this way or am I just wierd?

I don't mind it. This is the first android device I don't feel the need to mess with much.

Doesn't bother me at all. Its nice not having to look at a sense ui all the time

I love it. I did install Force Rotation from the Play store and it works perfectly, it just allows landscape mode and it looks like it was built in.
Really needs stock landscape mode.
I kept the stock ui after switching to tablet reason being I disabled the on screen buttons and hide the notification bar on my homescreen. Makes full use of the screen real estate.

i do like it
i just want it to go landscape as is,

can you link to this 'force rotation' app
thanks!
I like stock UI on this very much.. which is why i'm holding off on installing trusty ol' Nova launcher. i just dont have the need yet. (no landscape home screen doesnt bother me too much at this point)
tried the 160 dpi switch, but didn't care for the empty space at the bottom of the screen . seemed a little wasteful.. so switched back to stock 231dpi
I like it, especially now that the team eos ROM has support for toggles in the pull down notification bar. I also like that the home, back, and recent apps buttons are centered.

I don't really see any problems so far. Haven't had mine for more than 24 hours. But I'm looking for defects before I do anything major like rooting and installing custom Roms

This worked for me for lanscape mode in the stock unrooted launcher: Ultimate Rotation Control (can't post outside links yet)

I'm loving the stock ui! I'm also loving the fact you can install tablet AND phone apps. I've bought SwiftKey for the phone but not the tablet and I'm using the phone version on my Nexus right now and it's working great!

Your not alone, I love the stock JB interface.
I have custom launchers on my other devices, but am really liking the way JB looks and feels on the Nexus.
I'm with ya man. I'm loving this thing. If my prime was this smooth and stable I would be keeping it lol.

I love the stock UI and tablet UI would look stupid in such a small tablet. Also why not try something new instead of living in past. The portrait home screen do not bother me and I try to keep using it in portrait mode as much as I can because the tablet is so manageable in one hand in portrait mode. The notification drop down and everything is good with the UI however I don't like the look of app drawer just like other android tablets. They should come up with something nice. I don't use app drawer on my device and I keep apps that I use everyday in folders on one of my home screen.

The stock UI is great, and mostly bloat free. I don't feel the need to customize at all.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
I have no complaints with it, and see no reason to look for an alternate launcher. This is my first Android tablet though, so haven't really seen what other launchers/roms have to offer.
So far I like it. I'm running CM9 on my phone and I like the AOSP look a lot.
I've only had mine for a day but so far I can't see any reason to change from stock.

What are your Impressions of 4.2

So I flashed the 4.2 factory image, haven't rooted yet.
I like,
The smaller icons in the dock bar
Slicker graphics / icons
The clock is cool
The notification system, left-side = notifications: right-side = quick settings.
Gmail is much improved.
Multiple user accounts is a good idea.
I dislike,
Chrome is slightly newer than the current version in the Play Store, 18.0.1025465 vs 18.0.1025464, but they made it perform worse Sunspider before 1500ms ~ now 1641 ms. It is also no smoother than before, and still is laggy on sites like The Verge.
I only got to play with mine for a few minutes during lunch but I love it minus the bounce back on the notification/quick settings pull downs. It's just odd and kind of irritating. I kept thinking it was going to close itself.
I really like the new lockscreen. The hour being bold with the minutes regular text is really nice IMO. The placement of the owner info and charging % is also nice. I think widgets are kind of meh but not complaining about anything new lol.
My battery is very bad since the update. Anyone else thinks like me?

Yeah I'm not liking the notification bounce back either.

Overall performance on the home screen and lock screen has been worse for me. I manually updated and wiped dalvik and normal cache before booting...

The new lockscreen should be awesome but it's terrible. Only 4 widgets, what gives? Should be able to use any widget I want! And no more quick access to Google now?

What the story with Miracast, guys? Is there a button for it in the notification settings like there is on the Optimus G?
Can't wait to get home and update my N7...

Calendar, clock, gmail, and sound search.
I like how gmail is zoomed out all the way and then you can zoom in. Why not add this feature to the stock email app as well?

Pretty sure you're missing the Sound Search widget, it was previously only available for users in America, more people may be able to access it now but some won't be able to based on where they live.
I'm not liking the new clock, the huge bold hour makes it look lopsided, guess I have some kind of symmetrical ocd!
