Hi guys
I was running CM6 on my G1 and all was running fine. I then did a factory reset as I wanted to pass the phone onto a friend.
However the phone will now not get passed the animated 'X' logo. It goes from being colored to blue but then just starts again and I need to solve this fast.
Any ideas much appreciated....
I've changed nothing except carried out a factory reset/wipe to get rid of my settings and it wont go past the splash screen.
Any ideas guys? Any help would be useful
A logcat would be helpful, but let me guess a bit:
You had enabled JIT and now after wiping JIT is off. Without wiping Dalvic-Cache it's likely to have reboots. So cleaning the Dalvic-Cache may help you.
Only guessing ...
Thanks but didn't work, wiped cache, dalvik cache and factory reset several times but to no avail.
So I tried getting the latest CM6 and reflashed it, then got stuck on a different splash screen (thing going round a sketeboarding android).
Reflashed again but with a different version of the google apps and......
WOOHOOO
The relief is immense, thanks for the help

I really need help! Ok so here's the deal: I flashed the new RA-dream v1.3.2 recovery this morning and coming from MLIGN 3.0 Hero I wiped EVERYTHING the recovery allowed me to: data + cache, Dalvik-cache, battery stats? and rotate settings along with repartitioning my sd card. After that I wanted to go back to Cyanogen's 4.2.3.1 so I wiped but it now won't go past the Tmobile G1 Screen! I've tried everything, including flashing other Rom's wiping partitioning again, letting it stay at the screen for and hour! all in all I can't get past it, but I can get to recovery.. did I do something wrong? any help would be great cause till then, I'm phoneless
when you do an adb logcat, are you seeing a restart loop?
Hi guys I wanted to go ahead and reload a different ROM. I had purehero 2.1 MOC (maps-oced) but I heard that the nonclocked version has better stability with wi-fi. I went ahead and tried to downgrade the rom without wiping and everything booted up fine. However wi-fi tethering was still not working I kept getting an error about unable to start wifi tethering etc. I went ahead and tried many roms (pure hero/alysious) all that wouldn't require wipe. I still kept getting same error. I went ahead and went to recovery I did a factory wipe/loaded rom and it just stays on the nexus X cross as if it's trying to boot but it doesn't it just keeps recyling over and over again. I went back to recovery and wiped data/factory and also dalvik cache ( i have a2sd enabled) then retried loading rom and same thing. I'm at the moment of wiping all mentioned plus eXt2 and reloading rom AGAIn. I hope this time it boots up.
Will something in my SD card possibly have my phone acting up the way it is? If so what solutions do u guys suggest? I hope after doing the last step I mentioned I can FINALLY log into my phone. At the moment i'm unable to do so. My aim name is crown510. If any of u can assist me I would appreciate it. Thank you!
So I was modding framework-res, and somewhere I did something wrong and my phone will no longer boot. I can go into recovery but I did not install any extra recovery apps, so I can't do many things but wipe data, restart, etc. I've tried every option in the recovery but nothing works, it still doesn't boot.
I would go to the att store to have it exchanged but my screen is cracked so I can't do that.
is there anything I can do? I just got this phone and I don't want to have to buy another one. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, I'll try that and report back. Hopefully that ones works, I've tried other tutorials but none seem to do a thing
put that beast in download mode, and reflash a kdz...should bring it to a stock form.
just make sure after your flash, boot into recovery if you are getting a boot loop, and clear data / cache option...then reboot.
Hi all,
Yesterday I restarted my phone, which triggered a rebooting loop. I tried removing the SIM and SD cards, which didn't seem to be affecting anything. I then tried deleting the cache, factory resetting, then factory resetting and deleting the cache, but I still can't turn my phone on. Now the problem is that as the phone boots, it tries to 'upgrade android' and 'optimise apps', but before it completes all this, it reboots itself again.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I've tried reading up on reinstalling firmware via USB as a possible solution, but haven't figured out how to do this. I don't know if there's a simpler solution.
Best,
Stu
Let me just start by saying that I really don't know what I'm doing. There was a lot of bloatware on this phone that I wanted to remove and apparently the only way to remove it was to root. I downloaded kingroot and after deleting some apps I rebooted my phone but it did not go past the blu loading page. I then figured out how to get into recovery mode where I reset to factory and cleared cache and tried rebooting. This time I got past the blu loading screen and into phone setup however as soon I click the final next it brings me back to the blu screen. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here?
