Hi guys,
I am currently using Gsen to get the SMS and EMAIL screens to display in Landscape mode, this way I find it easier to type using 2 thumbs on the full qwerty keyboard. Unfortunately it's not that good as it often reverts back to portrait and then quits the SMS or EMAIL screen if you happen to move the phone too much.
Therefore I would like to know if there is a regisry key somewhere I could change to get this 2 screens to display in Landscape mode by default.
Thanks.
Look what I found...........

Thanks, that's pretty close to what I need but it means you lose the use of the 'phone' button. Or does it only work witha long press?
Plus I would really like something which doesn't require any intervention.
But thanks again.
Just a little UP.
I am still struggling when using Gsen as it randomly gets back on portrait mode and kicks me out of the SMS app.
Is there a registry key which says if an app is displayed in landscape or portrait?
Cheers
hey guys!
i was wondering if any of you guys know a trick or a setting to keep it on landscape mode the whole time.
the problem im having is that when i set it to landscape mode then use the slide out keyboard, when i slide the keyboard back to its hidden position, the screen automatically goes back to portrait mode.
thanks
AFAIK it is impossible.
start...settings...personal...buttons...Left key....assign Rotate screen
Maybe this is something you can use:

This trick works. but when I get or make a phone call by pressing the call button, it switches back to the portrait mode and does not come back after quitting that screen...Does anyone know how to keep it in landscape even while making a call? BTW, I am using 826x ROM.
Thank you.

I want to use the phone mainly in landscape mode for a change. Is there any means to set it by default? That means, that it has to stay in landscape when I close a game, for instance, and when I slide back the keyboard (atm it turns portrait in both cases).
It was discussed several times, AFAIK there is no solution.
shame.. thanks for your answer.
Just assign a hw key to rotate the screen so you can force the phone to landscape whenever it goes to portrait.
True, it's not what you wanted, but it's the closest thing we got.
So my Xperia X1 has WM 6.5 on it.
The problem is that when i open querty the immage does not switch to landscape, but the buttons are working, if i type a number i can hear the bips and if i slide back the numbers are there.
So in portrait mode is working, in landscape not, what can i do ?
Hi,
Finally Samsung created a landscape mode in the s9 with oreo. On my note 8 (n9500) and on a s8 exynos with oreo the option for activating the landscape mode is missing. I like the stock launcher. But ill love it more with landscape mode.
Ive found today a way to use the landscape mode with a workaround, whitch shows me, the function is already in the oreo galaxy s but samsung forgot to make the setting for acivating it.
The workaround landscape mode:
1. Open an app in multiwindow view.
2. You dont need to open a secound app. Just press the home button.
3. Now you see your last app in the upside in a very tiny area with a 'x'.
4. Now just turn your oreo galaxy. It will work in f...ing landscape mode! The appdrawer, too. If you clouse the minimized tiny multitasking area, it stops working in landscape mode.
So...
Can someone create an app or something to activate the landscape mode without root?
The function is already here. Please help, if your creazy programer skills can beat this problem
Thx..
Ive done a tasker task for it for now. If you do the following steps in a task you can put it in bxactions. Then you xan enable it with pressing 1 button.
Tasker task:
1. Open one app (not important whitch 1).
2. Wait 507 ms
3.toggle split screen
4. Wait 507 ms
5. Show homescreen.
...
This task activates and deactivates the workaround landscape mode
I hope some one can create something what can solve it and its possible to activate it without the workaround hmm
