Problem with mp3 and avi, mkv files - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'd like to ask you to help me with my problem.
Here it is.
I've got a problem with playing mp3 and watching avi files on my SGS.
During listening the music I experience a 0,5 second skip every minute dead on.
The same happens when I watch movies (avi) on my SGS.
Wheater it is 350MB or 700MB file, I tried from internal memory as well as micro sd card.
The same happens on mkv files. I tried watching films on YouTube, still the same.
My memory card is class 6, so the card speed shouldn't be an issue.
It's very, very annoying.
I installed mVideoPlayer, didn't help either.
My FW XXJM1 update 1.
Any ideas???

what are the Apps and Widgets that are running in the background?
have you tried to play the video using your internal storage?

I don't use any process killer, but I closed all the apps and the only processes
left running was "Android Core Apps" and "Swype".
And yes I tried from both- internal and external memory, I even removed external
card to see, if there was any difference playing from internal without card.
Yesterday I managed to play mp3 file without skipping, but I had to set the equalizer to normal, and effects to normal.
And I thought that solved problem with movies, but it didn't

hmm.. most users having similar problems just flashed their SGS to a new fw.
kinda weird tho.. I'm using a stock fw XJf4 with no mods and haven't got any media problems.

Problem with my Music Player on my touch pro

When I launch my music tab in the touch flo 3D, the load time for displaying the albums is very slow (i dont know if this is because the songs are in a storage card) And when it gets to display, after about 20 seconds it takes another like 20 for it to become navigable(still loading), scrolling also becomes slow at times in the music tab.Hope I can get a feedback about this. Thank you PS. I have 1.13GB of music on the storage card..
I've got probably 4gb+ of music on my card, there is a slight lag, only 2-3 seconds buy I think its pretty normal. What rom are you using? If it is the stock one that is probably your problem, it is soooo slow compared to the cooked ones.
try the tnyynt SD TuneUP.cab. It speed up the access times to the card. works good have it installed on my phone. Card has about 40 albumes and 5 movies on it (16GB card).
Can't find the cab but if you search you should be able to.

[Q] Problem playing music

Hi,
I'm not a big user of music on my Captivate, but last day I tried to play some mp3s and had a bad surprise.
First song always plays normally but the player freeze everytime I press next.
I tried with different players (stock player, 3, Player Pro) and it has always the same behaviour.
I'm running Axura 1.01 with recommended lagfix option.
The only thing I modified I could think of, that could have a link with the music, would be unistalling DRM service (to solve battery drain issue).
I didn't freeze this service (uninstalled if for real ) so I can't really check if it's the source of the problem.
Any idea/help is welcome
Thanks!
I had problems playing music for awhile it turned out to be my external memory card going bad it would still work in my old phone but for some reason it would start skipping and freezing in my captivate got a new card no more problem

Mount the card on your PC and run a check disk
If you still have problems, save your data and run a FULL format.
Thanks for the replies
It's still not working, my music is located on the internal SD of the captivate. I tried removing my "external" SD, just in case, but it doesn't change anything, music app is still freezing when changing song =/
Any other idea?
Flash to stock and see if the issue still happens?
Seriously though - this is a valid bug for the Auxura dev to address. If the folks running the ROM do not have this issue ... its possible that you will need to re-flash the ROM again to fix it.

Music stuttering

Wondering if this is common to everyone on the Honor 5c?
One thing that is really bugging me is that when while listening to music and switching from one task to another, such as unlocking the screen or (especially) switching to an app, the music stutters slightly. Trivial perhaps, but starting to get very annoying.
These are local files, both from the internal storage and from an SD card.
It occurs with all music players I've tried.
It occurs with the Modaco custom ROMs and with pure EMUI, which I switched back to, both b102 and b120.
I've tried disabling most background apps, using the Performance profile, increasing SD card read ahead buffering, and when it was unlocked/rooted, locking the device at max CPU using an app,... no joy.
I've never had this issue on any previous device

Video Playing Problem after Android 10

Hi guys,
After updating my sm-n960f (exynos) to android 10 via ota I can't play videos correctly.
With default player everything is fine but when it comes to third party players (mx player, vlc player etc) the problem shows up.
It's like I'm streaming a video which im not (playing from internal storage) the video freezes and actually there is a loading bar in mx player like when you're streaming ! I tried reinstall the apps, upgrading to last versions, turn off optimise battery usage but none of them works.
This problem is really annoying and I don't know what to do with this.
Help me please.
Thanks in advance
I would contact the app developer with the details. They will probably address this in a future update.

Thanks for your reply,
Of course the best way is contact to developers but since I have this issue on every third-party video player after updating to android 10 I just wanted to know that maybe there is a fix , trick or something that may help with this problem
This is a definate problem. On my Android 4 back up expria, ancient, android 4.4, all videos play fine. I only use Mx Player Pro, and find files using es explorer full. On Android 10 q, I tested same using a brand new 128 gig sd card, vidoes played fine upon installation or aforementioned apps, watched a vid, went to sleep, woke up, went to watch a vid, no video now plays. NONE. Tried different versions of mx player, tried vlc, different versions, but stuck with latest, knowing the problem is android 10 q, since the same 128 gig sd card with same movies all play fine in android 4.4, so yeah, get ready for the freeze's that lead to bootloop. I even tried wipe cache in recovery, and the factory reset, re-installed apps, same problem. Why they played, then stopped playing anything is beyond me, since i had no wifi connected, and no sim installed, quite simply, viewing video's in android 10 q is now a no go.
Symptoms include:
Immediate black screen, need to force reboot by holding power for 30 seconds.
Full black screen with tiny blue square dead center, nothing else functons, again, 30 second forced reboot
Video starts, then phone reboots of it's own accord
No video plays.
No, I dont have a virus, settings are set to sw decoding, since hardware brings more problems.
I guess they want us to go on youtube, but since I banned google in my entire network...

P20 Pro video playing lags

Hi,
After recording a video and wanting to watch it, it takes over 5 secs for a video to play. It's like the play button becomes unresponsive. I have been using my phone for over a year, had nearly 6000 pics and videos which I deleted, then factory reset the phone. The videos played faster after reset but after restoring the phone's backup, old apps it's back to the way it was..
I also tried clearing the cache/ data from the gallery and camera app but still the same.
Anyone know what this could be from?
Thanks!
Where are the videos in question stored: on internal storage medium or on external storage medium? Read speed on external storage medium is times lower than on internal storage medium.
Hi,
Thanks for replying so quick!
There is only internal storage on my phone so internal storage..
What video player do you use? Do you keep energy saving profile active?
Using normal energy profile and stock Huawei player, I have no lag(less than 1s, that is). Phone has never been reset in my possession and it's more than half full of apps and files.
