OK so my wife got a new android and I was setting it up and put my email in first. I wanted to use some app tools to set up her phone and what not. Now the issue is I have her phone setup and I set up her email but now I cant remove me email. It keeps telling me I have to reset her phone to remove it. Anyway around this? She is rooted and on CM6.

i have a tilt, i just did a hard reset to clean up some crap i dont use anymore, i set up my gmail as i previously had w/the new account setup process. i have it selected to download all messages, but it's only downloading the messages in the last 30 days from my gmail server, i have pop 3 enabled and have looked over everything i can think of, anyone else have any suggestions on how to get all my mail downloaded? i also noticed that when i send an email whether it be from my gmail acct or on my phone it puts a copy of the sent mail into the inbox on my phone and not the sent box, any way to fix this? i'm using the original 6.0 rom fyi. thx
anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
I have my work email set up on my N1 and I noticed that when I'm at work checking my emails on my pc it doesn't update on the phone that i've already read that email and i still get the notification. Am i missing a setting somewhere? Or are there any apps that i can use that will recognize that im at work and i don't need to get my email to my phone while im there?
So I'm getting multiple notifications for my Hotmail account. Basically, I'll get an email, read/delete it, then it shows back up in my inbox 20-30 minutes later (sometimes up to an hour), complete with a new notification. Also, possibly related, but it also doesn't really delete the emails from the account, so when I access the account on a computer, I have a ton of "unread" emails. Any way to get rid of the notifications and actually delete the messages from the account?
Anyone/anything?
What rom are u using ???
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
CM6.1 currently, but it did the same thing when I was running DC 2.09.1, and when I moved to CM6. I don't remember if it did it when I was using the stock ROM, that was a long time ago.
yeah i have this too with live acct, same as hotmail. i read somewhere that hotmail/live don't have the same permissions as yahoo/gmail, and there is not a fix. i did get a little better results after deleting the acct and reinstalling it after i switched to 6.1.
I don't think they will delete off the hotmail server will they. I don't use hotmail personally, but my wife has issues with hers on an iPod Touch. We figured it out, and it was something in the settings online. I tried to get to to just switch to gmail exclusively, but nada as of yet. closest I have come is talking her into an Android when she is eligible for an upgrade from Sprint in Feb
Check your hotmail settings on the web possibly?
i have four different email accounts set up within my gmail app. i want to delete one of them. i cant find where i do that though. when i am in the app i try to tap on account settings but the whole thing force restarts on me.
From the home screen go to setting->Accounts and sync. The select the google account you want to remove and there should be an option to remove it.
i guess i should clarify that i have stock 1.1 and autonootered. i cant go into the account settings. when i try to the nook restarts. like the whole thing freezes and then flashes the android boot screen and restarts. i cant go into the account settings.
I have the same problem, I need to unlink completely my nook to the google account, because I will lend it to my father for a period, and I don't want to uninstall everything.
if you are just going to lend it, equip it with a bootable SD with ROM of choice that way Dad has his own email in it until you get it back and just pop out hte SD

Ok, I know I've seen this discussed on here before but honestly I dont know what keywords to put in to find the thread. Basically, I setup a new gmail and need to know how to register phone with it. I added under accounts and sync and have it syncing. Doesnt the market need it as well? I just feel like adding and syncing was too easy. Also what is a good way to move over contacts to new gmail? I thought syncing from phone would work, but have not seen them show up yet, been about 6 hours.
you need to do a factory reset to change gmail accounts like that.
Ya thats what I was afraid of.

Not positive about this but what if he flashed gapps over again? I have in the past had to flash gapps with nightlys and had to reset up my Google account. I did use the same gmail I have always used but shouldn't it be possible to do the same thing and when it ask for your gmail address just put in the new one?
Then if that works and you get it up and running you should be able to open your OLD gmail account via a PC and send a vcard with all your contacts to your new gmail account. Once you try to open the vcard it should ask you what you want to do. Then pick open with gmail or something like that.
Again I may be wrong and you will need to factory reset but it wouldn't hurt to try it the way I just said before. If this does work you will probably have to add all your apps via the market unless you install them first via titanium backup.

I just factory reset, but was looking at the idea of clearing all data on all google apps. Also on a side note, the setup kept force closing on my phone, wtf. Got it up and running though.
