Can you check the languages supported in your Settings menu? If the arabic language is not listed then it cannot display arabic fonts. You need a firmware or ROM that supports RTL for arabic language.

Or, maybe you can try installing Arial Unicode MS font from here http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/10/arial-unicode-ms-font-that-supports.html
I recommend using the font changer n use B Bshablon Chinese font.. but make sure you have enough space for over 18 mb on your System..

In DDLB2 Samsung has included support for South Asian Languages, such as Tamil, Hindi, Sinhalese.
Browser, system interface everything in the above mentioned languages render and display properly. will this be included in Future firmwares from now on ?
If not, How can I port the content from this DDLB2 to a furture rom ?
Including the font in System/fonts folder does not work.

Today I Install ICS Repack by chainfire on my galaxy note. But It can't render South Asian languages (I can confirm that sinhala is not working). LB2 was very cool and It rendered South Asian languages 100% correctly.
I also need to know whether LB2 language support can be applied to ICS Repack as well. Anyone can help ?
The Files that are needed for porting is still unknown.
Otherwise I couldv'e given it a try.
Only DDLB2 Supports Sinhalese, and Tamil. All other Roms mess it up.
On SGS ir was very easy, just copying fonts, was enough to work. But on Note this trick doesn't works.
I think you should have indiandroid font installled on note, as well CSC also should be INU to work.

I use German CSC all the time. It still worked without messing up the rendering.
I did an experiment, I ported these smali files from the native firmware to the latest, and rendering issues were somehwhat corrected with minor errors.
Inside Framework.Jar -
Graphics / canvas.smali, paint.smali
Text / Layout$Directions.smali, Layout.smali, StaticLayout.smali, Styled.smali, SpannableStringBuilder.smali
I have just flashed german LC1 y'day, N indian fonts are displaying without modifying anything...
i also update ICS on my note. can say ok.
hope the ASIA issue will be ok for us...
DDLC1 Supports Sinhalese Fonts as well.
XXLP8 SriLanka too, But no signs of a place to start porting them ...

In Indian stock GB, hindi font is preloaded..
Asoka keyboard preinstalled when I was on Gingerbread 2.3.6.
I updated my Galaxy Note with German ROM since I could not wait for the Indian firmware update as it was taking ages.
I have a lot of tamil epubs that were rendering fine on FBReader, Moon Reader when my note was having the stock GB ROM. But since the German ICS update, the rendering not good and reading is very difficult (the glyphs are getting rendered in wrong places). However, Tamil font renders fine on the browser, Facebook app.
Any ideas?
I also observe the issue you are referring to.. Tamil font rendering is an issue. Glyphs render in wrong positions. I am also unable to use the Anysoftkeyboard for tamil. I am unable to type கோ , போ etc.
This for sure is a bug and I do not think that Samsung has taken a note of this as yet. Until Samsung fixes this, custom roms as well are going to continue to have this issue.
For now the only solution seems switching back to gingerbread.

Search for indian fonts here.. And flash it with CWM..
Get flashable zip of hindi and flash using CWM 3.x.x or above (2.x.x had too many bugs.) if its available; if it isn't then ask the developer of your ROM to include it in the next release.
i have downloaded the new 4.1.2 jelly bean for my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, but unfortunately there is no arabic pack on it .....
i can read Arabic font from any app or even msgs but i cant write any e-mail, msg or facebook comment,
i tried many things such as Ibrahim keyboard and many many things,
plz help
thx
You need a keyboard with arabic support
I recommend AI Keyboard with arabic language pack (Arabic pack is for autocorrect only, Arabic letters are built-in)
The plus version will allow you unlimited autocorrect, otherwise, it is free only for 7 days (Who needs autocorrect anyway)
Best of luck
Hey bro I recommended
jelly bean keyboard

I am on rooted stock JB 4.1.2. I am not sure of how much the indic fonts are supported but they are rendering properly in webpages but not in applications or messages. Particularly for my mother tongue language (Telugu), rendering is not proper in messages. Is there any alternate font files for rendering Indic fonts correctly?
I had seen that rendering for Indic fonts is perfect in one of my friends Sony xperia ZL running JB 4.3. Can anybody post the files here please?

I can make you a flashable zip for that, but you need to provide me your native font and /system/font folder from stock LG.
