This is just a theme for Dream users, im not doing a whole lot of advanced theming because im not revealing the ui or other Drone© specific official related material.

Urgh ok, lemme see whats goin on
i had a similar issue with metamorph
just unzip the file using your computer and extract files to a folder on your sd card, use the existing theme button in metamorph and select the .thm file.
works for me my motorola a855 android is running the ICE theme. no custom rom, just root access.
cheers!
Very nice theme. When will you be putting it back up? I am running Manup's Eclair v1.5, will this work for that ROM when you put it back up?
I don't have any ROM cooking experience, but hopefully someone can work on an ideal ROM for JPK
It would be a rooted and optimized ROM with the following:
- LauncherPro Plus
- Music PlayerPro
- Fancy Widgets
- DroidX Multi-touch keyboard for Froyo (confirm working awesome on my i9000)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764021
- Latest Swype
- APPS2NAND
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756157
Place the following to NAND:
- Default App List from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756157
- LauncherPro Plus
- Music PlayerPro com.tbig.playerpro
- DroixX keyboard (com.android.inputmethod.latin)
- Swype com.swype.android.inputmethod
- Fancy Widget com.fancywidget.android
Feel free to chip in ideas
LauncherPro Plus - u serious? ;d
Would be awesome for this with launcher pro though you can activate the plus afterwards. Also touchwiz should be removed.

Good luck getting someone to help you, I'm flat out getting an answer to my updater-script problem!
You can try to download a custom rom like the froyo remix and mod it according to your needs.
Open files with winrar, delete or add and try it... also i found a script to create update.zip but cant remind, try to search for it.
edit:
If you want to create a full custom rom you need to use a "kitchen" (can be found at samdroid or modaco).
It could be possible to create rom using tools like nandroid and clockwork recovery (flash, install app/mod without sim or sd, then backup).
If you just want to mod a rom already flashed, you can use an updater script like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769374 but if you change fils inside you will probably need to edit the "updater-script" and validate the apks using this: http://www.londatiga.net/it/how-to-sign-apk-zip-files/
It would be good to create some kind of "how to create your own custom rom" whitout using kitchens or harcode, some kind of gui tool where we could put an official rom, and remove/add apk/odex then choose to build the full rom or just the update.zip ...
Good luck
Why would you want APPS2NAND? It is slower than any lagfix available.
Apps2NAND is needed because Oneclicklagfix 2.0 becomes slower than going without any lagfix after a day or so.
The only good solution for JPK roms at the moment is apps2nand. Try putting your keyboard on NAND, you'll be able to type really fast like I am doing right now without any lag *I even have word suggestion on*

I'm just trying a bit of theming myself, found plenty of guides on the topic however I have found one slight problem. No matter how I try to install my modded system apps, it always fails to install or doesn't change the original app at all.
I use APKmodder to do the editing if that affects anything, however the same issues arrise when using NinjaMorph on my NS.
I have tried multiple methods of getting the apps onto my device. Using adb push, creating a custom update.zip (which is all set out properly), NinjaMorph and even just the regular apk install, all of them either don't update the apps or are pushed to /system/apps but are not in the app launcher.
Any ideas? I have searched for hours about this and I haven't found anything to help me. Finally, if it helps I have tried with Launcher2.apk and Camera.apk.

Any ideas at all? I've never had much luck with Modding apps full stop. Could it be my copy of APKmodder?

is your rom deodexed?
I imagine so, running CM7 and I can't find any odex files in /system. I also read somewhere else that CM6 was deodexed so I figured it would be the same.
What difference would it make if it wasn't deodexed? Would you need to remove the odex or something?

CM7 is deoxed. It's probably because you're changing the apk, don't understand why you're playing with it but whatever.
No idea, my recommendation is to not mod it.
I am not familiar with the tools you're using, but I've heard that people have had trouble with them in the past.
The best tool for theming is Apkmanager 4.9 used along with Apktool 1.3.1.
However, if you're simply swapping some images, just do so in WinRAR or 7zip. No deed to decompile, resign anything. Just put your system apps in a Flashable zip in this order: Zip/system/framework/framework-res.apk and Zip/system/app/<your system apps> and drag and drop your images in the right locations.
Also, your zip must have a META-INF folder with the proper update script.
You can use any one of my themes as a template.
Hope this doesn't sound too convoluted.
Cheers.
Thanks for that, some changes are image based but there are also some XML based changes which I require, would the 7zip method work there?
And sorry if I'm being vague, but Im not near my computer now, but how would you use two tools in conjunction? Because I have used apktool before but not the other.
Thanks very much though! I am finally getting somewhere
Edit: thanks for the template offer, I will have a look and see what's different to my tests. Just one final question, is there any difference between an update-script and updater-script?
Double EDIT: For future reference if anyone finds this, there is a difference between update-script and updater-scripts. From Android 1.5 onwards, Google moved to updater-script's, leaving update-script's behind. Make sure you remember this!

For xml changes you have to decompile/recompile the apk. Apkmanager is a GUI for apktool so you don't have to learn/remember the java commands.
If you download Apkmanager, it comes with Apktool 1.3.2, be sure to replace it with 1.3.1. It's way more stable and reliable.
Not sure about the difference between updater and update, maybe one has Amend scripts and one doesn't.
I am not a developer so can't say for sure , but the one person to ask would be ogdobber.
He literally knows everything about everything .

Ok thankyou very much for the help once again. I have finished school for the week so I should have time to test these methods out now.
If I need any further help I might drop ogdobber a note then.
Thanks for all your help!

Yes, Kitchen works great for deodexing, zipaligning and signing Roms, but doesn't create correct updater scripts for me.
I use x ultimate to deodex.
Here are guides I found helpful when I wanted to cook it myself

PS
If cp command does not work use busybox cp to replace odex files.
Deodexing and zipaligning is not development may be I'll share my rom when I learn more

Hi Ladies & Gents
Just wondering, does the these build.prop tweaks work for the Note?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588439
- In particular the network related ones?
- If they do is there a reason why are they not included in the stock build.prop?
Thanks for helping me answer these questions
Bump any one?

1.yeah build.prop tweaks does work. There are mant tweaks like making H/W UI rendering, making jpg quality 100%,increase the sppet of browsing by increasing the buffer rate etc...Yeah the network one works. And I have implemented some tweaks to my rom too...
2.Stock roms doesnt contain most of the tweaks/mods seen in custom roms...Thats what differentialtes stock and custom roms....
Thanks for the response! I'll give it a shot and see
BTW: just a note guys if you edit the build.prop in es explorer make double sure you change the settings of the file back to rw-r--r-- or your going to get a nice black screen on boot!

You may use this way:
1.pull your build.prop from /system to your pc
2.open it in notepad++
3.Edit the file.you may copy paste from the thread in op
4.make a cwm zip
5.flash in recovery
No need to worry about perms...
