Alright after viewing newone757's thread: [Layout] Android Phone 7 (HDPI), I decided to mod some of the widgets that I use to WM7-style
So far I've modded genie widget, smooth calendar, and switchpro
so here is a link for smooth calendar and genie widget
genie widget:
http://www.mediafire.com/?yyypq8d9zdum629
smooth calendar:
http://www.mediafire.com/?cc07w6czp1cr8cq
switchpro:
please PM your proof of purchase
Installation:
smooth calendar and switchpro
- Uninstall if you already have these apps.
- Reinstall modded apk as normal apps
- I have signed the apk so there shouldn't be any issue
with switchpro, you need to make sure you choose no background
Genie widget
With RootExplorer
- copy modded apk
- paste in system/app
- change permission of apk to rw-r--r--
- reboot phone
Using adb
Type - adb devices (See your device)
Type - adb remount
Type - adb push GenieWidget.apk /system/app/GenieWidget.apk
It's nice to see a thread covering something other than just the .psd, hehe.
Very nice work, my man. Keep it up
LOL yeah i figured that too
Just send you a PM
any pictures?
please post any printscreens...

It's in the first post.
Try reading it.
If you don't know how to push the widgets to your phone, this is how:
- - -
Download the Android SDK
Extract the .zip to C:\
Rename it Android
Enter the folder and setup the SDK
Download everything it asks about
"Force https..." if you can't download.
Download the widgets
Put all the .apk is one folder
Rename the folder newapp and put it in C:\Android\tools
Start CMD - type cd C:\android\tools
Type - adb devices (See your device)
Type - adb remount
Type - adb push newapp system/app
I take it this is not the genie widget ported back to 1.5?
It would be interesting to make a whole new launcher "windows phone 7" style so we can replicate the various functions of the real win phone 7 "widgets".
Sadly i'm not able to code a single line, maybe someone else can make this huge work
Thanks for nice mods.
Could You tell me how to edit switchpro height? I would like to hide notification/status bar so I need to increase widgets height a little to remove such big gaps between icons.
Thanks
Update: I have edited appwidget_bg_null.9.png and appwidget_bg.9.png - added 2 lines of blue pixels to top and button, but have opposite effect - widget became smaller.
Update2: Here are the sizes of icons.
Update3: Ok, it seems that I should use some special editor, not PS.

What about a BeautifulWidget clock+weather skin?
I have downloaded the sms unread count app. But I still get the original icon not the one that is modded. Is there something else I must do?

Hi,
How can I move widgets? If I long tap on them they won't move and I cant find an option "unlock widgets" as in the standart theme of throttle launcher.
hope you can help me.
Luke
Is there a way to see more of screens or videos of this in use?
Very sexy!
I definitely would leave Sense if you get this one more advanced!
I optimized the programpanel and added a notification slider at the top (like on the concept-images) already; if you'd like to work together just contact me.

Anybody who is interested in my updates can download the new version here or in the attachments of this post. I included an option to unlock the widgets. Haven't found another one... (Check the screenshots)

I could move the widgets without problem by tapping and holding until a dotted border appears and then just drag and place them wherever you like (same page or other page).

MOD - unread message Widget
More and more Android users love Battstatt and Tajm. This inspired me to mod the free market app smsunreadcount in a way, that now it looks like these famous widgets (original app shows 1x1 72 pixel icons). All 3 options (sms, gmail, calls) now are 2x1 and are a nice complement to Battstatt and Tajm, but do also fit to most Android environments.
The mod is signed, so just copy it on your SD and install with a file explorer.
If you place the smsunreadcount widget, you can choose between gmail, sms and dialer (missed calls). IMPORTANT - activate "hide icon label" to get the right size.
Tested on Milestone, but it should run at least on all hdpi devices. Feedback from mdpi Users is apreciated

Edit: it just shows a picture of my messenger app like as if i just had the icon on my homescreen nothing like screenshot
Did you place the widgets on your homescreen or just installed it so far. Like with any widget you need to long press the homescreen first and add it.
HTC Hero
When adding as widget it adds a shortcut to messaging.
This is great, thanks! Anyway to make the background transparent?? TIA
The current backgroud is on 60% like battstatt, but since this is png related, just change the icons in drawable-hdpi and push in system/app or resign and install. With this hack it is easy to do, since now you only need to change the 3 pngs and can use your own flavour.
so obviously no success with mdpi - you could try the following. Downsize the 3 pngs in drawable-hdpi to 160x97 and push the new apk into system/app or resign and install, that might work on mdpi.

anyway to get a conventional clock -- I hate the clock notation on tajm
That`s easy, that was designed by me
http://www.android-hilfe.de/themes-fuer-motorola-milestone/43076-digi-batt-batterie-icons.html
It works certainly the best with my battery hack (coop with mattmaso) for Milestone, since the Digi batt was created for this to show 10% steps in the status bar.

Thanks for that, any chance it could work with the desire?
When I try this on my G1 it just shows the normal messaging app icon with a little counter above it. Not the battstatt styling I was hoping for. :/ Hope you can fix it to work on the G1 cuz this looks really nice!

It certainly works with the desire, but I`m not sure whether the 10% philosophy does match to Sense. You can rename them anyway how you need them, but they are certainly designed for 10% steps. Technically they will work anyway.

Thanks that worked and it works great! Few things just some ideas take them or leave them.
The blue doesnt go with my theme and might be better if you made it just white where you have "inbox" and "message."
Also your look nicer but sadly they dont exactly match battstatt because your background its kind of shaded not a flat color.
And one last thing the fonts are slightly different.
Just some small things that might make this app even awesomer! Cant wait to see it in the market!
Resize your widgets
for a better looking homescreen!
Requirements:
- LauncherPro Plus (Alternatively ADW Launcher)
- A lot of patience (seriously) - resizing can be a *****
- And some sweet widgets!
This can be done with basically any widget. I re-did the entire post so let me know if you need actual instructions.
I think the screenshots are pretty self-explanatory but feel free to PM me or reply to the thread with suggestions.

I was informed of adding widgets this way by Hollywood. Earlier I did it inversely - but this way the widgets won't overlap the wrong way
if you reboot and stuff like that. All your widgets will stay where they are until you move or resize them again.

I'm using NeutraFace and it's super expensive. I'm not the one to suggest warez but a quick Google search might land you the font.
If you add the widget you want as background first, it will be okay when you restart the phone. It will not look good before the restart but after a restart it will be just fine.
You can resize it last of the widgets but remember to add it first of all.

Great tutorial!
Just wondering, how is it that your widget list combines your items. Meaning, for gTab simi clock, it just shows its listed one time then in () it shows u have 4 options, whereas in mine it actually list all 4 items. (see screenshot) Therefore my widget list is hella long. Wondering of u used an app to condense the list?
EDIT: Nevermind. I found it Its called AppWidgetPicker
Hi. I'm trying to install one of your SMS Unread Widget Mod without success. Can you post the correct way of doing this?
Thx...
You don't need to modify SMS Unread Count - You can add custom images to your SDcard > data > kankosmswidget. Just drop your images (.png) there and choose Custom Icon when you add SMS Unread Count.
I'm on the Oxygen ROM - I'm pretty sure most 'new' AOSP ROMs have that feature. Either way I've had it since I first got my Desire and tried out OpenDesire. It's not an application or anything that does it - It's the ROM.
I'll be updating this post soon so stay tuned.

No. But if you look in the settings you can turn AM/PM and date off.
Apparently, I was thinking of a different app. This one is free so apk included now, just install and fix the settings to your liking.
Since this is a paid app, I am only including the /res folders in this post.
1. use adb or droidexplorer to get your handcent .apk out of /data/app (adb pull /data/app/com.handcent.nextsms-1.apk)
2. merge this res folder with the one in your .apk through winrar/7zip/etc (be sure to use STORE method so it does not compress)
3. resign the apk through APKTool
4. push back to /data/app (adb push filename.apk /data/app)
5. adjust settings: Use Dark theme, Hero skin
Screenshots attached.
This theme is based off stock and some ideas taken from this thread.
I have modified many of the images in the conversation list, bubbles, and the widget to blend better with my current color scheme. This is my first theme/mod so let me know what you think. Comments/suggestions/requests welcome.

Sure, np . i pulled this out of an older ADW apk and just tinted it a bit green. For those wondering how i changed it :
1. longpress an empty area on your homescreen
2. Custom Shortcuts > Launcher Actions > Open/Close App Drawer
3. touch the icon in the upper left corner, then find where you saved this one.
4. drag the newly made shortcut down to your dockbar
To change the regular dock icons in ADW
1. Create the shortcut (longpress, create shortcut, applications, phone or whatever)
2. click on the icon (top left)
3. find new icon through gallery
4. drag the newly created icon wherever you want it in your dock
If you're wondering about the dockbar its from EspressoUI (Nest w/Slide) theme available for free through the ADW theme gallery.
EDIT: attached the icons as well in case you wanted those. If you have any requests for icons you would like in that style, let me know and ill do my best to make something that will suit your needs.

You don't need the SPB launcher to get that theme. The 3D stuff in the middle is just that certain launcher. What you want is the notification bar theme right? I don't have it myself, as I don't use those themes, but I would suggest using the UOT kitchen and you can cook it yourself. It's pretty easy to figure out and get your own themes up and running.

I took some time and threw together what I THINK you're looking for... it was actually quite a bit more work than I thought it would be, but I just tested this out on my Nexus S (i9020a) on the latest CM7.1 Nightly (b. 180) and it worked fine.
I'd recommend backing up your Androidian.apk just in case something goes wrong, or even a full nand backup. You'll need to push this apk to /system/app and make sure permissions are set properly.
Here's what I did to set it:
1 - Use Root Explorer (or another file manager with root access) and go to /system/app
2 - Make sure the directory is mounted as RW
3 - Rename Androidian.apk to Androidian.apk.bak
4 - Browse to where you saved the modified APK on your SDCard and Copy/Move the modified apk to /system/app
5 - Set permissions (rw-r--r--)
6 - Reboot phone.
7 - Once phone is back up, go to Theme Manager and select Androidian.apk and apply.
8 - Hope it works for you like it did for me
I really like this a LOT. I've been thinking about requesting for it too. Can I add to the request please?
@tehgeekguy - Can you modify it further to remove the horizontal dividers in lists? Especially in sms and the menu lists. Pretty much like Minimalbread and Lucid. Please?

You mind taking a screenshot of what you mean? To be honest, I don't use themes at all, but I could tweak it how you'd like if you can show me what it is you're wanting changed.
Hello, Im hoping to remove all those white lines. Especially in messaging. That horizontal divider in message list or menu items. Please see attached image.

I THINK I got what you're wanting. I attached two screenshots with what I've managed so far. This will basically remove those bars from anywhere they'd normally show up (Settings menus, Messaging app, pop up menus, etc...). The screenshots show the Settings menu and the Power menu (I clear my messages daily so nothing in Messages to show but a black window).
Unfortunately, I haven't gotten it to work in a theme yet, but I can get it working with a morph, or you can yank the files and merge them manually if you know how, it's not too difficult. I'll keep poking around the theme files and see if I can get this put into the one I uploaded earlier. The morph is NoDividers.zip (attached).
WOW! This $hi+$ AMAZING! I can't THANK YOU enough! Best thing about this morph is that I can use ANY theme without those pesky dividers! Really NEAT man!
I really recommend this to anyone who love David's MinimalBread and Sonny Sekhon's Lucid.
