How are the silicone cases suchs as these http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=xperia+silicone&_sacat=See-All-Categories
from Ebay?
I have never seen one in real life. Is the phone harder to operate with the case? Does it bulk up the phone too much?
I used to own a HTC tytnII (without a silicone case) which is slightly bulkier than the Xperia, and so if I could handle the HTC's slight bulk, then I would assume the Xperia w/ silicone case would be of similar size, no?
I wouldn't get a silicone case, they are very responsive to touch and uncomfortable.
I mean responsive as in they always get in the way, and you know how silicone is, it flexes and it bends.
They also feel uncomfortable for me.
This is about silicone cases for all phones and mp3 players.
I'd rather let me Xperia scratch than to be protected by that obstacle.
i would have agreed to u ..but the battery cover of my X1 got little scratches from coins in the pocket and now i am worried.
maybe leather covers?
those silicone cases do their job for a cheap price, I've used a few of them on a few makes of phones & they've been fine, but idd regards they feel a bit weird at 1st as in their like a condom but once u get used to them their ok I'd say.
Or you can indeed go buy a leather case & they vary from cheap .HK 1's to proporta etc... again I've had a few, even used expensive 1's.
I'm currently using a silicone case now & then with my diamond but mostly I have it in a leather flip style case, also got 2 leather pouch style cases...
My advice to any 1 who buys an expensive pda/ phone is to protect it 1 way or another with either a case or a pouch oh & always fit a screen protector also
Or don't care & get your pda scratched or chipped etc...
I had similiar one when I owned Touch Pro.
the fitment is ok (not the best) but I think the quality is at best average.
I just bought this one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Silicone-...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Since I like silicone cases better than regular leather or pouch ones.
Silicone Cases are Great
I've been using silicone cases for years. They do not bulk up the phone, and they give great protection. All the ports are available, and the buttons usable. And, they're inexpensive!
is the optical pad covered using the silicone case?

Yes, they block the pad, at least the ones off of eBay do (I just recieved one)
There are some rubber cases that leave that area uncovered. You can find them on eBay as well. Although I don't now how the keyboard slide function works out with those.
the ones from hong kong off ebay are not very good, I have stopped using mine, so anyone thinking of buying one just avoid them.... I can post some pics if you want....
Clear Plastic Instead of Silicone
You might want to try a clear plastic case. I bought a couple from Ebay and like them better than the silicone ones. The ones I bought were about $3.25 each. Since they're clear, the allow the beauty of the phone show through. Plus, none of the buttons are covered.
Hello,
just received the case for my HD2 from pdair, in fact this one:
http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000801&products_id=24581
It's not my first purchase via pdair. If anyone looks for a classy case, built of fine and soft leather and manufactured on the millimeter, simply go for this case !
This is no advertisement, I neither get paid by pdair nor am I affiliated with them in any way (unfortunately...).
Already purchased the case for the Touch HD from them.
Actually the HD2 also fits in there and this is what I did until the new case came today.
I'd been a bit concerned therefore if they wouldn't offer the same case in disguise for two different device models.
Well they didn't
I have always preferred "horizontal pouch type" cases, they are most practical to wear, that's at least my experience.
Only downside was:
If you live in Europe, like I do, its quite some distance to Hong Kong and I had to wait for the good to arrive (unfortunately air cargo space over Christmas time becomes additionally scarce).
Let's hope they will have some distribution point in the EU region some time.
As far as I could see there is no retailer in Europe offering their cases.
In case someone knows one, pls post here.

I ordered the same pouch. I am using a brando black silicon skin on my hd2 and I hope that with the elastic sides of the pouch I can put my phone with the silicon skin on in the pouch. This is simply impossible with other pouches. (I've bought already 2 pouches) I will keep you informed when I receive my pouch. I think that many others will be interested in a pouch in which they can put their phone with a silicon skin on.

Oops.
I am sure this will be problematic as I said:
The pdair case is no "generic case", as offered by several manufacturers (already was "cheated" myself by such resellers, sent back these cases of course), it really fits on the millimeter.
Yes, there is a rubberized, flexible strap on each side of the case, but as the HD2 itself is very thin, these straps are as well.
So if your rubber cover (or case) is very, very thin, the HD2 might fit in the pdair case with it.
Yes, just post your findings for others.
If it won't fit in and you can't use it or pdair won't take it back (never had to return anything to them), put it on ebay and post to others they can get a cheap good case there for the HD2 ;-)

ghl10000
I had a look on the website, and the cases look very professional. I have ordered one for my new HTC HD2, which arrives tomorrow.
Cheers!

I've just ordered it, from the UK! Its from a company on Ebay for £15 with free delivery. As ghl10000, I've had some of their products before and l'm using my HD PDair case with my HD2, but decided to take the plunge once I found this on Ebay (and used my Ebay Plus Points voucher ) Had one for my N95 as well and have never been happier. Very high quality and perfect fit.

I've received today my pouch and it fits ... tight, but it fits. I've to use some force to close the pouch but I think it will fit better after some time. This is for me the first pouch which fits my hd2 with invisible shield and silicon case. I don't think a better protection is possible. I am to test it out the next days. The pouch itself is well made of soft leather. The only concern I have are the elastic sides of the pouch, but I am not to much concerned about this because I usualy buy a new phone every year. (one is already speaking of the hd3 for the end of the year?)
edit : I've removed the invissible shield on the screen because it is to soft for this pouch - it gives an 'impression' of the innerside skin of the pouch (where the magnet is). I've reinstalled an anti-glare screenprotector which gives no problems with this pouch. The invisible shield was also too reflective in the sun.
i got my alu case from pdair a few days ago (ebay 19 Eur) and have the following problem: it looks like that the elastic band which should protect the hd2 is a little bit too thick!!!
the effect is, that when i close the case, the lid pushed on the corners and a couple of contacts are executed (most in the corners) and the hd2 begins to react - looks like an animated film, but i can´t laugh!
they will ship me a new one (package was prized out with originated for htc/leo hd2)...

how good are these cases. anyone bought them? cant find reviews anywhere. they look nice but want to know the quality

Looks like this one:

which I ordered and is in the mail. I'm not sure if anyone has reviewed it yet; will post when I get it.
i received mine from that company today. they sent me the wrong one. its for hd2 but different case, material & colour. fits great but i'm unhappy. it picks up dust like magnet.

PDAIR is good Product but for me I choose Krusell rather then PDAIR.
I used PDair for my Imate 9502 and Krusell for HTC HD and now I'm looking for Krusell for my new HTC HD2
Guys -- This is my first post, I hope I'm in the right place. I was just visiting this forum to see what info might exist regarding the PDair Aluminium Metal Cases. I recently purchased one (Product Code: 1BHTH2B51) for my HTC HD2 and am extremely dissatsfied with it. I just want to add my comments in support of others who have previously also expressed dissatisfaction with this case. The problem is specifically the design of the case which permits the cover (with or without the plastic screen protector) to touch the perimeter of the telephone screen setting off various applications randomly (see attached video demonstration). The problem makes the telephone completely unusable while the cover is closed. I have emailed PDair to express my disatisfaction with the case design and their response has been evasive, to say the least. My honest advice would be to to steer well clear of the PDair Aluminium Metal Cases for the HTC HD2 until they are redesigned.

It might be helpful to anyone considering the PDair metal cases as opposed to the leather ones.
PDair Horizontal Vs Vertical
I'm swithering as to whither i should go for a vertical or horizontal PDair pouch for the HD2. I've previously had a horizontal pouch for older phones but the size of the HD2 concerns me, i'm thinking that the HD2 might sit less awkwardly if vertical. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

The best case would obviously be the Piel Frama iMagnum HTC HD2 case, its prolly also the most expensive one. Down side is the long delivery time, i am currently allready waiting for 2 weeks to receive mine.

I bought one of those cases from NETIMES.COM (http://bit.ly/6s1eNy) and it's quality. For less than £3 it's a steal! Quality fitting with great protection. Adds minimal bulk to the phone and is very durable. The scratch resistant screen of the HD2 takes care of itself and the case does the rest. Everyone who has an HD2 should buy this now. Top marks! 9/10.

The PDair luxury silicone case is great Does not pick up much dust at all due to the textured surface.... fits snugly without much play...
I wished someone would make a nice brushed aluminum and rubber hard back... a combination of those two materials would make for a beautiful backing/case for our HD2's

I bought this case here in the states, 4 day shipping. I really didn't want to spend this much for case, but wanted to protect hd2. This is best case I've ever seen, great fit, & protection, corners are real well protected. Very happy I decided to get it.
Awesome!!
I went for a rubberized one also by them instead.
never used a rubberized one before, this time i really wanna give it a try.
+1 for the Piel Frama iMagnum. I got a plain black one and it is by far the best case I have ever had, my friend (who also has the HD2) called me mad for paying so much for a case, but when he saw it, he promptly went out and ordered a custom model with his name on etc. The iMagnum range is beautifully made, perfectly designed and offers complete all round protection for the HD2, if you have don't mind paying that bit extra, I would strongly recommend it.
I'm going to be getting the HD7S, and I was looking for a good case for the HD7 as they're the same phone. My problem with a lot of cases is that dust and other things get inside the case and scratch the phone. So I was wondering if anyone could help me out and let me know which cases don't do that, the Otterbox Commuter in particular.

if anyone has the case from tmobile that has black edges and a clear back but also want a belt clip get the one from Seidio. I already had that case and ordered the $50 one from Seidio that has case and clip and noticed the tmobile case fits perfectly in the Seidio clip.
The case i received with my hd7 was a cheap $5 one off eBay. The guy told me he paid $20 for it, however i paid $2.50 off Amazon for the same quality case for my last phone. I bought an Otterbox commuter case and for $25 off Amazon it is a great buy. The inner part of the case is rubber and seals all the contact points on the phone and case.

I want the Candyshell from Speck...
That is a pretty nice one.. But the price is way too expensive than I wanted. T.T
What I really like is the PowerSkin for the HD7 - I use with a screen protector I bought separately. Only shortcoming is Powerskin doesn't have a belt clip/holster and is way too big for most phone holsters - I ordered a horizontal case for a GPS off eBay - if it works I'll update with the model number here..

Never heard of it - looked it up and man, what a gorgeous case!! I'd get one right now if I didn't have the powerskin..
I use on my HD7 a Momax iCase Pro. 10 bucks only and it's very good.
Otterbox off Ebay is amazing. Came just the other day and it fits snug inside.
It costed around 40 bucks but is well worth it
Otterbox for sure!!!! I used all three cases they sell at TMO:
-Body Glove was second best IMO (pretty, but cheap feeling, it creaks when you squeeze the chrome borders)
-Hard rubber with the grid back (decent but bland)
-Black bumper with clear back (tight fit *good* but volume keeps pressing with the slightest touch due to the tight buttons covers, plus back scratches easily)
Otterbox, no contest. Tight fit, covers up my decaying buttons (seriously HTC?) and soooo sexy with the brushed metal styling on the back, and feels so much slimmer than the Body Glove
I just got the 2 smoke argyle tpu case on ebay for the price of $0.00 (got a refund and replacement). The cases however are only mediocre. Its a tight fit so I don't have to worry about it coming off or anything like that and it gives you a pretty good grip of the phone. However, it does get slippery if you have sweaty palms like myself and the buttons are now harder to press because of the cover. The TPU case is sturdy and I believe it will protect my phone but it surely is not the best case out there. Price right now on ebay is $3.95 for 1.
I have looked at more premium cases like the momax icase pro and the speck candyshell. The candyshell looks to be a great case and I will probably buy one eventually.
Got the Otterbox case a couple days ago. Works wonders! It has an awesome feel, isn't bulky at all and provides good protection, not to mention the buttons are easier to push. Recommend it for sure! 10/10.
(TWSS also applies to much of what I said.)
I'm thinking of getting the Otter Box myself as I cannot find any Speck cases in the UK.
Only problem I see is that the phone won't fit on a dock/cradle with the Otter Box!?
Why do you need a dock when you have a kickstand?

Good point lol - never thought of that. I suppose I thought it would be handy to charge etc although I still haven't seen a dock I like yet as they don't seem to have supports on the ones with the audio jacks built in. I don't like the thought of my phone free standing with the USB and audio jack inside it in case it breaks somehow.
I would vote ooterbox as #1 but the case dosnt have a belt clip or holster like the defender series. ANd the fact that they dont plan on making one make me lean in favor for the body glove. I got Zaggg's invisible shield max all over the phone with the body glove case. It gives it a really tight feel and stiffens up the bodyglove case from squeaking and making cracking sounds when you hold it.
My vote is for either CaseMate "Barley There" or, Incipio Feather Light case.
Nice protection with hardly any additional bulk added.
i found otterbox is a very good case
skin-it
personally I don't like a big case, so otterbox is out for me. I got a skin-it custom skin I am very pleased with. Easy install, fits perfect, holds tight.
I wanted the protection Otterbox gives, but I also wanted the sleek look of a leather wallet case. So I decided to MacGyver it and combine the two.
The Otterbox Defender you can't really find a discount on, you're paying $40 -$50 after shipping, I think I got mine on eBay.
The leather wallet case however varies tremendously! The one I got was $13 and i've seen them as high as $60. You can find them as cheap as $5-$6 This was the exact model I got:
http://www.cecompass.com/black-flip...tore=default&gclid=CNjZo_qSsbUCFUid4AodvRYAmw
The problem being the included plastic "phone holder" in the leather wallet case is too small once I got the Otterbox case on my Note II. With brute force I ripped the cheap plastic phone holder out of the leather case. I went to target and purchased 2 packs of 12 velcro squares, cost me about $5 total. I also used and would recommend using super-glue to glue the velcro squares both to the leather case and the corresponding area on the Otterbox case, you'll need the extra holding power!
I had to glue velcro on the closing strap too, as the case I got had a magnetic closure that no longer held with the addition of the Otterbox Defender case.
I also found the need to cut pieces of the leather case. The first being the edge near the S-Pen holder. It was too narrow for my fingers, cutting the corner off of it solved that problem. I also cut some of leather away from near the flash. While the case doesn't interfere with the camera visual field, sometimes the flash will catch the edge of the case and produce instant unwanted shadows. After cutting the leather, I used a black sharpie to color in the bare leather in the areas I cut which worked brilliantly =)
The result is the perfect solution for me. I have the elegance and usefulness of the black leather wallet case, and the protection of the Otterbox Defender. Also The wallet case folds backwards to pop and hold the Note II horizontally, perfect for watching Youtube, Netflix, or any video you want to watch. If anyone is interested, I'll take some more detailed pictures of where I put the velcro and the cut mods I made to the leather case.
defender
if you see anyone looking for a otterbox defender in black for the galaxy note 2, I have an extra one that I was gonna get rid of for 35.00 shipped new in package, ended up with 2 after the holidays, thanks, otterbox is a great protector, I highly appreciate mine...

Hi,
Anyone know of a horizontal leather carry case that will fit the phone with the protective cover plus on it? I've seen the XXXL case on the american amazon, but that's not over here in the UK that I can see, and I think it states it can fit the phone with the otterbox commuter case on which means I think it'd be a little too big for the samsung case?
http://www.pdair.com/smartphone-cel...bumper-cover-horizontal-pouch-type-black.html
i think that's what you're looking for.
it's a tight fit, but it will work.
i just tested it myself, and it's at the absolute limit of what the pouch can handle.
