Selling my Kaiser on eBay: I need a stable ROM recommendation - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I'm selling my Kaiser on eBay so I'd like to install a nice-looking, feature-packed ROM but stable and easy enough for a non-tech user. Any recommendations? Thanks

Planning to do the same on Craigslist, so I would like to know too!
I could revert back to stock but thought it might be nice to sell it with WinMo 6.5.
ROM should have all the standard apps (incl. Office! Which are missing in some ROMs)

Nobody has a suggestion?

If I were you. I would put the original or some other stock rom on it. Putting a custom rom on ity would be an appealing " wow " factor for some. But it would cut down on a lot of interest from people that know nothing about custom roms and would shy away from buying an " altered " " hacked " phone. Aside from the fact that if something, that was not your fault, went wrong with the phone, the buyer could demand their money back, saying they had no idea you hacked the phone.
To get the quickest sale and the most interest , and to protect your sale, I would flash the original rom back.

omg I am going to go against what Denco said.. I would put Stylze ROM on there. It's beyond sexy.
Denco has many good points though.

I am running dutty's ROM wit no issues.

Duttys last rom is about 2+ years old. You can get a much much better ROM now days.

I thought it would have been nice to put a 6.5 or WP7 (even if it is only a skin) ROM on there but agree that it is probably not worth the hassle when selling it.
Most buyers are idiots.

6.5 ROM
Since the original ROM was 6.1 (I think) I thought WM 6.5 would make it more appealling. Most users won't flash their phone so I want to install a WM 6.5 ROM that won't have bugs but still will be a nice touch. It doesn't have to be a ROM with lots of features, just stable and with WM 6.5.

I've been out of the loop for awhile..
Are the 6.5 Roms still Beta's that expire?

Stok vs custom ROM

Hello, couple of days ago i moved back to windows mobile and bought a HD...So far i have flashed the latest stock ROM, Dutty's 2.3,Touch of HD 3.4.2, wm 6.5 version ..... and I would say the stock ROM is the best so far
Other options ? Any ideas which is the most used rom ?
Regards,
A
the roms we use, are the ones we like. you need to run the one you like
you wont get a vote here on "whose is the best rom?"
didn't ask whose rom is the best....i asked what is the rom that most of you use and maybe why...I don't want any vote....I don't think any chief would mind hearing opinions about their roms....Might help em gettin better .....Anyways, if the staff thinks that my question is wrong...the thread can be trashed

I think the 2 most common rom's used (correct me if I'm wrong) are Duttys & Laurentius26
Dutty has a number of rom's released with varied reports on each so its best to read each thread and make up your own opinion. Personally the best thing you could do is flash a rom, try it out and make your own opinion. I have flash3ed countless rom's and still haven't found the perfect one!

It depends which criteria you have. On rom is stable, another have more functions another a nicer interface another is faster another has more free space.
Write down your own criteria and check which ROM is the best for. Most of the users here are still searching (see Fallen Spartan)

Me too. I am back to stock, although I did compress manilla textures in it.
Even tried many radios, but back to stock radio as well.
Great thing are done with roms here, but they have IMHO to many oddities.
Still, HTC could learn a trick or two overhere....
I did flash my Elf (Old Touch) with a mature cooked rom, and I am happy with that.
No doubt there will be great Touch HD roms here, when I have bought my Pro2
I have also tried Laurentius26 ROM.It has a lot of features that i like (big start menu...i mean very big :-D)....but also found some bugs (i fixed one)...It's very fast and i like that
Duttys is a little to slow...i think...
I will flash right now the xtralight version of miri's 6.5 wm (now that viczena said that it's fast)
Greetings from Romania,

Very very duummm question? Or is it, where can i get Stock WM 6.1, i flashed mine, and i dont know wich one to use, they are all great, so i am heading back to original? So if you could please help me.
Well i'm just going along with whatever roms come out, so far tryed 6 of them a week apart, about same. I'm sticking now to 1 new rom a month.
Nice looking rom
So could you please tell me if there is any rom with nice interface? I've tried most of Duty's , MaryOne and much more, but I can't find any which has cool TF3D, every tab backgrund (I don't want to spend half of my day to resize a picture just to make a background for every tabs).
P.S. Sorry for my english

Original vs cooked roms

Hi there
I'm a newbie and wondering how much I'm missing out on by sticking with the stock ROM my HD came with. Could I be experiencing better, faster performance, improved features, etc, etc with a cooked ROM, or are the differences actually pretty marginal and just for those who really enjoy modifying and customising their device?
I know I will lose my ability to call up HTC and complain if something goes wrong with my HD whilst I keep the original ROM, so I'm just trying to gauge whether the benefits of changing to a cooked ROM are worth it. I don't see myself changing ROMs a lot, but I'd love better performance and there are quite a few features of original software that bother me.
Thanks for any advice!

In my experience cooked roms are cooked so they are better, more stable, have less issues & bugs, have faster performances & improved features. Thats the whole point, plus you can always revert back to stock rom anytime you want as all are available to download from the wiki
cooked roms are alot better imho, obviously depends which 1 you go for, a lite 1 will make your phone alot faster, some are feature-packed and so on.
I am currently using a cooked rom but if ever i needed to return to HTC i will put original rom on it.
Cooked is definitely the way to go. Especially if you run one of the many roms available from our own great chefs here at XDA. They are always more stable and way faster than stock roms. Plus, if you are worried about warranty and such, it is always completely reversible
You have to at least try one! If you need information on how to do it look at the guide in my signature or read the wiki. Cheers!
A long time ago a galaxy far far away, I too was a purist always stuck with stock ROM but one day I woke up and smelled the coffee and jumped ship since then I have never looked back! cooked rom is the way to go!. yes you may get one rotten apple but that doesnt mean the rest are bad far from it! I have been flashing rom's back and forth since my TyTN days and I can tell you this much, HTC or any other OEM could a learn a thing or two from the fine Chefs that have graced their presence in XDA over the last couple of years!!
As they say "don't be shy give it try or you will never know"!!!
Well, I'm convinced. Thanks for the opinions, and here goes....!
well this is only one way only once you flashed the cooked ROM then you have to continuously flash it as long as it is continued, means you will be addicted and you have to flash each new ROM that comes out, so your device will become the lab for testing new ROMs , any how you will like it that way.

I just want a good ROM which makes my device faster, more stable, and look better. Any ideas?

I only have experience with duttys 2.x and Miri's roms since 5.x
Dutty has wm6.1, miri wm6.5 as the base, I personally like to have the newest stuff...
Dutty has a lot of stuff packed together which is also quite nice, but.. like I said, I rather go with the newer stuff. Miri's rom is not too barebones (hasn't ripped everything possible away, which could cause instability), the ROM has not crashed once - I like the miri 10.0 premium running on my HD at the moment.
Oh yes, I also had problems with dutty's data connections, for some reason it kept cutting my irc session in a couple of minutes. It was a pity, because the selection of already included apps was nice. And has gotten nicer all the time.
Well, others can tell about the other ROMs, I don't have *that* much interest in just toying around with all possible ROMs.
The decision to try miri's rom as my first wm6.5 was based solely on the fact that his thread on the forum had at most postings :-D

For me memory management is very important i have tested all the roms and flashed all the new roms till now Miri's rom is the best for me it is fast and hardly you reach to 50% of memory usage with tons of software installed, i know lots of people likes duty's rom but for me when i load it easily it reached above 50% of memory then after using gps and other heavy applications it reaches up to 90% that makes the device unstable, that was my opinion

Cooked ROM Vs Stock ROM:
Faster: Agree
Improved features: Agree
Better: Depends on the quality of the cooked ROM
More Stable: Not for most of the time
Less Issues and Bugs: Not really the case
But flashing cooked ROM is really fun and addictive. However, I usually end up flashing back to a tweaked stocked ROM for daily use.
Well, I just installed Dutty's 3.3 ROM, and I have to say that so far it is so much better than the stock one. He's fixed a bunch of things that had been giving me the sh1ts about the original one.
Now I'm tempted to see what Miri's 10 is also like...damn, I'm hooked!

wm 6.5

hello guys!
wm 6.5 is now available but htc won't supply it for touch diamond phone.
now i have a question, @ the rom section there are many wm6.5 rom files, but i am a newbie and dont know which one is the best?
is anyone familiar about that roms? is there a rom with the final 6.5?
and which one is clean? some guys are changing everything... i just want an original touch flo 3D (newest version) and wm 6.5?
thx!
so long
Mmmm...
I'm afraid no one can tell you which is best because everyone has different tastes. All you can do is try them and see which suits your needs.
None of the 6.5 ROM's are completely bug-free. They are improving, and the ROM cookers are doing a good job making them work, but as they're not designed specifically for the Diamond, bugs are bound to exist however small.
If you can live with a bug or two, go ahead and try some, but don't expect perfection. I know it's a bind, but you really have to read through the posts to find out what users of the various ROM's are experiencing.
I've tried all the 6.5's, some better than others, but as I would like one to be how you would by it new, they all seem to disappoint somewhat. I'm gonna wait and buy a new device with 6.5 pre-installed

Best Leo rom on Touch HD?

I am looking for a rom for my touch HD.
surely i want it to look like the HD2, is there a rom that is just like the stock rom of HD2? i.e. HTC sense
or any other recomendations?
THANKS~
You've come to the right place. Try a few and see for yourself. Asking for opinions is going to get you 10 different suggestions as many of the chefs have very loyal followers and they will punt their chef as the best etc.
People also have differing needs and uses for these devices, so what is vital for a good rom for one person may be totally unimportant to you and thus the suggestion given will not be relevant to your needs.
thanks, but i just wonder whether there is one which is just like the stock rom of HD2...without other stuff added to it
I understand kwbr Vanila roms are fairly stock. miri and jakari also generally keeps roms close to stock, but again read the threads and see what they add in.
thanks alot~~

the BEST THING to do is to try and test some Leo HTC Man 2.5 Sense ROMs.
If you expect a ROM to be "just like the stock rom of HD2" you'll be dismayed
to know this will never be the case. (Although I must admire Cooks who port most of HD2 (Leo) feature to the Blackstone)
As you may know Hardware wise the Blackstone pales
in comparison to the Leo. HTC wouldnt even update
the Blackstone with Win 6.5 as they say it lacks the necessary Drivers,
but to all of us here in XDA this is a big lie, as we are all enjoying
Win 6.5 ROMS. (The best ATM is Kwbr Topix 3.2.3)

According to you LOL
If I understand correctly, he is looking for HD2-like roms. If this is the case, then any rom with (manila) 2.5 in the title will have the appearance of the HD2, not everything will be like the HD2, since they are different phones hardwarewise...
Many of them are tweaked by the chefs so you have to try em out to see which one you like

WM 6.5 Official Uncooked Upgrade, should I go branded(t-mobile) or unbranded(htc)?

Hi everyone,
I have a T-Mobile TP2 and have been torn on whether or not to upgrade to 6.5 for some time now. Well I finally decided to go for it, but then came across the official unbranded HTC rom.
My question is (dealing only with official release updates from tmobile and htc):
Who has upgraded to both branded and unbranded and can relay pros and cons of both compared to 6.1 and each other? Or has anyone heard enough about both, or can give me any relevant information?
Also, do I need to HardSPL in order to flash the HTC rom?
I'd really like to lose all the bloatware and sh!tty splash screen and everything else t-mo, but I don't know if there is any clear-cut advantage to doing so.
Also, if I am completely daft and missed a similar pre-existing thread, please inform me of my mistake. Same goes if I posted in the wrong section, this is my first post in evar.
THANKS!!!
Put Hardspl on your phone and you can test yourself You can always go back to the 6.1 rom.
is there a stock manila 2.5 ROM offered by t-mo?
if not, 2.5 + CHT is definately worth using the HTC ROM.
I would not mess with Sense 2.5 unless it is cooked. You need a lot of tweaks to make it run smoothly on the TP2, especially in HTC messaging. I am using a cooked version of the T-Mobile stock rom with Sense 2.1, has been the best and most stable rom for me yet. Sense 2.5 is good if you don't mind giving up some performance for new features. Sense 2.1 is what our devices run best with. Hope this helps you decide.
EDIT: In comparison to WinMo 6.1 with TF3D, upgrading to 6.5 with Sense2.1 will in my opinion make the device run smoother. 6.1 is a very solid OS and works well with TouchFlo to make scrolling much easier. However, I say if you can upgrade the device to 6.5 without losing performance go for it because it is much better integrated than TouchFlo, making the touch experience much better. Through my testing, the TP2 functions best with WinMo 6.5 with Sense2.1. The newer WinMo builds are probably better off using on the HD2 and other high performance devices. Same thing with Sense2.5, it can run smoothly but you will be giving up some speed as well as memory and battery life. I have come to terms with my phone, lol... Nothing beyond Sense2.1 and WM6.5 from now on. But you have to test on your own to see which you like better. Good luck!
I've been cooking own ROM for a few weeks now, and it's a T-Mobile no frills ROM.
It's not quite finished, but it's very stable and the battery life is excellent. I could always use another tester if you're interested.

You would have to hard SPL to use the HTC ROM.
The Official WM 6.5 is a sense 2.1 version, but you would not need to hard SPL.
Thanks for all of your help!
I'm still not sure what i'll do for now, but i'll probably end up just biting the bullet and becoming an addict. I'll start with the official sh!t and gateway into flashing every stable rom that exists lol.
