[MOD] Kill Battery Full Pop Up - Vibrant Android Development

my first method did not seem to kill the popup, so I went after the showFullChargePopup() method
itself and this morning woke up and did not find the battery full popup.
to recreate:
1. decompile/de-odex services.jar/odex
2. open "com\android\server\status\StatusBarPolicy.smali" in a text editor
find ".method private showFullChargePopup()V" about line 2779
and remove the entire method all of it from ".method private showFullChargePopup()V"
to .end method
and delete this line at about line 3441
invoke-direct {p0}, Lcom/android/server/status/StatusBarPolicy;->showFullChargePopup()V
3. save, compile and re-odex as necessary
so what this does is completely strip the ability to show the popup
and the call to to the popup method.

Interesting! I'm going to wait for someone else to try it first though...

nice baksmali

Anyone brave enough to try it and throw some results up?

Well, I tried the odexed one. I seems to work! I HATE HATE HATE the popup.
No crashing issues or similar that I have seen so far. I'll report back if I find something.

Would it ne possible to get one that reverts back to stock? Or the commands to revert back to stock. Thanks in advance,
Russ

here you go

Installing now...

I never thought of decompiling and tweaking it. Good job

I just flashed the de-odex version and it sat on the "S" loading screen for about 2 minutes, but eventually booted and no force-closes yet
But it seems as though it's not really doing its job. I just got the popup.
EDIT: I'm too lazy to undo Voodoo just for so I can clear dalvik but I'd like to add that even though the popup still rears its ugly head, it only shows up once Which is actually fine with me I just didn't like it popping up repeatedly when I was trying to do stuff on the phone and left it plugged in.

I still got the Battery Full pop up on mine after installing this.

Does this work on Euegene's Franken-Twiz update 3 rom?

Why don't you try it and tell us?

Awww...sad... I got a popup. Nice try though. Hopefully you can get it working.

Still got a pop-up on stock f/w. Trying the deoxed version.

deodexed version didn't work either.

I am absolutely sure it works, see attached image
try clearing dalvik-cache and rebooting a few times.

Running Franken-Twiz and it didn't work for me. Let me know if there's any logs or info I can give to help troubleshoot this as I really want it working.

Hmmm, also not able to get this to work.
I tried your packaged services.jar, and I tried editing the smali file myself, and I see the message in the debug log saying the process was "KILLED" but I still get the battery popup too.
Anyway, great progress already, I'm sure we'll get this figured out for everyone soon enough.
Cheers

I just flashed it and cleared cache and dalv. cache, ill report back tomorrow if it worked or not, I am on frakin-twiz v3.

I think i figured it out Modaco doesn't support it in the rom I went over tried out Gumbo's I like it a bit better than modaco's cause it doesn't feel as stock as modacos. it is based on his . Maybe there's an apk to enable it floating around somewhere.

Ya that sounds right. It started as soon as I updated to 2.2. Hopefully there will be a fix or something soon.
use fresh's kitchen to clear both the boot and dalvik cache. voila, problem solved.

if you have voice search then you're missing the libspeech.so file in the lib folder, in system
go to you cmd and check to see if your libsppeech.so file is in there if not then push the file back in and reboot.
attached is two zip either push the file on your own or the sign zip put it in your sdk card and install in form recovery like you would to a rom.
good luck

[RESOLVED-THANKS GREG!!]market issue-across the boards(please help?)

EDIT:
RESOLVED
THANKS GREG :-D
ok heres the scoop
i first starting noticed it today when just messing around trying diffferent apps (check out "spring ball" simple but fun!) the app downloaded, but upon completion, the market.vending force closed. i tried and retried and retried and no apps would install. thinking the issue was my rom, i did a fresh wipe and reflash. market worked!
-regawmod
later in the day the issue started again. fresh wipe and reflash. market worked!
-regawmod
again.
-regawmod
sick and tired of reflashing, i flashed fresh 2.0d in hopes to avoid the error. flash was sucessful, had fun themeing, market worked! once again, messing around with some new apps, the issue persisted. fresh wipe and reflash. market worked!
again.
-fresh2.0d
again
-fresh2.0d
GOD DAMMIT. in hopes to correct whatever the issue was i flashed damages latest, thinking, hey, its the closest to stock thats available in regards to 2.1, shouldnt have any issues. issue STILL persists.
i posted the issue in flipz thread, with a confirmation of the same issue from another user, but no fix (mondays apparently arent dev days lol; FLIPZ WHERE ARE YOU?!)
information:
i have the latest prl and flipz pri. i have stock radio and latest recovery (green nexusbear :-D). the fact is, whatever rom i flash, in the BEGINNING i am able to download all my apps, but after about a half hour, everytime i download an app from the market, it finishes downloading, then the market force closes, and the app just sits there at "xxx sucessfully downloaded" no install at all. i can still install from my SD card. at the beginning of every flash, i admit i go on a huge deletion spree via root explorer, but i have done my research and know what is safe to remove, i dont think thats the issue; maaaybe it is?
normally i would post a logcat, but i cant download and install it to post it!
anymore confirmations of the same issue, any FIXES?
tia
i hate to bump, as much as you hate to see it, but i could really use some help on this one
This happened to me too several times. There's a very easy fix
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market -> Uninstall Updates
Ta-da If you have an uninstaller app it's even easier!

For whatever reason, there is an update being installed to Vending.apk. It doesn't do anything except for break it. Market will still work (the way it's supposed to actually), you're not really uninstalling anything.
And yes, you did

hm. i do a few metamorphs upon initial flash of a rom (namely 3g icon over ev, and sometimes a lockscreen) could one of these be breaking them?
thank for the link. running damages latest, but dear GOD do i hate the stock rosie. espresso is my flavor
btw; your the one who got me completely addicted to metamorph: THANKS! i dont think many people see the benifits of it, and its too bad. it should DEFINATLY be our main scource for theming. really strips down the elements to personalize it to YOUR needs :-D i refuse to flash updates anymore for themes lol

No it couldn't. While the Rosie morphs DO edit com.htc.resources.apk (the same place where the 3g icon is) they don't touch the status bar icons, just the Rosie pngs in drawable-port-mdpi.

Visual Voicemail on AOSP?

Wondering how one might get VVM (Visual Voicemail from Sprint/SenseUI) working on one of these ROMs.
(Specifically Using DarchDroid 2.7)
Someone (Decad3nce?) offered to possibly help with this on page 3 of Darchs newest ROM thread I believe. They mentioned that we should grab Sprint_Core.apk from DC, and then I assume the VVM apk (if I can find it).
I would assume since (at lease the Sprint_Core) are sys apps, that they cannot be "installed" like an app apk. Could I get specific instructions on how to get these installed on Darchdroid? I would assume through adb? (Only used this a few times...)
Since I have a nice nandroid BU I like, and on a fresh flash of DD (KangSlayer!), willing to experiment a bit.
lol, coming from the same forum asking the same question. i actually got one to install but as far as it working im not sure. i tried sending myself a message and it never came through. the one i was able to install is an older version i believe but ill attach it.
I sent Decad3nce a PM, perhaps he will find time to help us VVM addicts
(seriously the ONLY Hero feature I "can't live without". LOL)
lol. its weird but since flashing an aosp rom, it seems as though i get voicemails more often. its really annoying having to use the regular voicemail thing which is why im requesting a fix for VVM.
Ok, sorry about that. I was at the hospital(my great aunt). But, I'm throwing together a flashable for you and for anyone else. Just working out a kink.
oh wow, sorry hear. hope shes ok. thanks in advance.

im confused...are you putting the zip up because your nice, or because it takes more than just the .apk to make it work? id understand either way
i believes its because it take more than an apk for it to work. ive already tried installing one, and while it did work i couldnt receive messages.
Here's the flashable with a few changes to the database, apns_conf.xml, and build.prop. (essentially the changes that were made in DarchLegend to get this working).
Make sure you have your entire ROM already set up before flashing this.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. FLASH THE ATTACHED ZIP, IT CONTAINS ALL THE FILES YOU'LL NEED
Code:
The files will be flashed, or moved to the right places
2. INSTALL SPRINT_CORE.APK (Which is VVM)
Before doing this, check if you can find "voicemail" in your app drawer. If you can, you don't have to install. Some people's Voicemail doesn't show up so it requires the install.
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
cd system/app/
install Sprint_Core.apk /system/app/SprintVVM.apk
exit
3.CHANGE YOUR VOICEMAIL SETTINGS IN SETTINGS>CALL SETTINGS>VOICEMAIL
Code:
Put your phone number under carrier settings
it's as easy as...
FLASH, THEN INSTALL, THEN CHANGE SETTINGS
NOTE If you flashed yesterdays version, it changed your mod version to 2.6.4. It's not a huge deal, but it might mess with DSUpdater. So just flash this to get the right version.
SORRY!
So, to clearify I have to change the settings for my voicemail, then flash this and then finally install vvm?

Only thing is, and I don't know if/how this is related, but I get a text from some weird number every time I get a call or voicemail now. I don't know if it's because of the ROM or this. It's really annoying and the text is mostly gibberish..

[Q] Voicemail notifcation won't go away

Don't know if I posted this in the correct spot... either way
I keep getting a Sprint Voicemail notification stating
"New Voicemail (1) dial ###-###-####"
Even though I do not have a voicemail
It is not coming from Google Voice nor Sprint VVM, seems to be coming from elsewhere and I can't get rid of it. It's a pain in the rear. Anyway to get rid of it???
Thanks,

Is it perhaps a text message? I PMed you back, try the things I suggested and see if that helps any. If any of them work, please post it in the thread, incase others are having the same issue.
Wrong spot to post this. Should be in Q&A
Sent my FroYo Hero
sorry first post my bad
I'll try what you sent in the pm here soon
I tried flashing the nightly version and its still there. right from the boot.
I can try flashing the old phone.apk file from the other one but I don't know, like you said, if that's compatible...
I think its a problem with the phone.apk, the bug is present in darchdroid 2.8.
There are 2 things you can try. One is to nandroid backup, flash a senseUI rom, clear the notification, then nandroid back.
You can try pushing the phone.apk from darchdroid 2.7, it fixes the bug, but I don't know for sure if its compatible with CM6
You can try flashing the newest nightly CM, RC0 is a very old release.
its much more up to date, and perhaps has the fix in place already.
be sure to flash the correct Google ****s,
gapps...1-3-signed.zip
and the battery tweak/charging LED fix..
collin...k_v3_beta7.zip

thought I'd post to give other people having the problem a shot to see if anything works!

Did you wipe before you flashed the nightly? Try flashing a sense rom, and see if you can clear it from there.
First time I didn't wipe... I wiped just now its loading up... I'll let y'all know what ends up happening.....
I posted a screen shot in the first post.
Wiping did nothing...
Ended up showing up again...
gotta be an easy work around hahaha... ugh
I'm talking to myself but its for anyone else having the same problem
I did a complete wipe installed the latest Nightly...
I had the voicemail notification occur once and now its not coming back *fingers crossed* and besides that all the apps in the app store are back....
Also have Sprint VVM working again... sorry I'm not a big google voice fan
2.2 roms have that issue cause theyre ported from a different system.thats why they say 3g .not evdo, once they get the source itll be fixed.....im not a pro,but im almost sure what i said is right.not in those exact words, but somethin like that lol.some1 back me up on this haha
Ok nothing has worked. I've gotten at least 5 notifications since I woke up...
Any other ideas I'm willing to try.... and about flashing the other phone.apk I don't know where to get that or if it will even work
I'm up for any other suggestions please!
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
yea, i'm not gunna blame you for not searching because it took me a whlie to dig up this post, but to permanently get rid of the voicemail icon, do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6619816&postcount=1007
but if you don't want to go through that whole process, you can see on the drop down menu in your screenshot theres an option to clear that voicemail. maybe you should try tapping that.
haha thanks darch.... I know I can press clear I do it.. then it just comes right back about 15 minutes later or until I receive another text message. I wish it was that simple.. wouldn't that be amazing?

I had the same problem. It's from the modded mms.apk on the ROM. Adb remove mms and push a stock mms.apk from an older ROM (one you know that works ok). Voila! No more annoying Android messages.
had no problem removing mms.apk but pushing it.... was difficult it never actually pushed for some odd reason.... so I ended up with a phone that cannot receive any sort of text messages.... haha I just had to do a nan restore but still... I've tried it 3 times now.. and failed 3 times...

Hey,
Just saw your message. You have to put the new Mms.apk in your AndroidSDK/tools folder and then run your command prompts. You don't run adb shell command. Here are the commands in bold:
C:\Windows\System32>cd /AndroidSDK/tools (hit enter)
C:\AndroidSDK/tools>adb remount (hit enter)
remount succeeded
C:\AndroidSDK/tools>adb push Mms.apk /system/app/
Wait for the prompt to return a message of "X" amount of KB sent in "X" amount of seconds and then exit.
You can copy and paste these commands instead of typing. Remember everything is case sensitive.
Everything is fixable!
Did what you said....
using a mac...
./adb push Mms.apk system/app/
returned...
1402 KB/s (1074799 bytes in 0.748s)
shows up in my OI file Manager that is in fact in the system/app folder but will not actually show up in my applications if that makes sense...
once again unable to receive texts
Nandroid restore*
hmmm
why is it pushing it to my device but not actually loading up anywhere?

SGT Hard Resets on every bootup on any ROM.

It's been quite a learning curve getting my Sprint CDMA Galaxy Tab and attempting to load every Miui, CM7/CM9 I could find on XDA and Rootzwiki. I never fully tested my tablet before beginning the delve into the flashing world so I don't know if this is an issue with the tablet itself or caused by my endless flashing trials.
I simply am unable to save any settings or data. Everytime I boot up, no matter which ROM (Miui CM7/9), it is always factory reset. This is quite frustrating.
I'm back on stock from odining Sprint EF17 GB w/ original PIT file and this is still happening. Does anyone have any idea if this was self-incurred or if there is a partitioning bug of some sort that I have missed.
Much Thanks in advance!
So every time you turn on your Tab it loads and then reboots in a continuous loop? Do you see the Android OS unlock screen or the load process does not gets so far? Because if it does not then in my opinion the boot loader is incorrect for some reason. That is my opinion.
What you can do if you suspect that the PIT is incorrect, you read your PIT and save via Heimdall and compare it with somebody else who has the same Tab as you have.
Unable to personalize "issue"

Negative. This is not a continuous loop bug. It is a "unable to personalize" bug. I can install market/apps/data/contacts etc etc, but every single time I boot up. it's a Fresh Copy with no personalized settings.

Yes I booted into CWM,fixed permissions, rebooted, put 2-3 icons on desktop, rebooted.
Nothing, it was back to factory default settings.
A permissions issue does make sense, but it didn't work and this is just mind boggling to me.

I'm sorry you have the same problem.
However I'm glad to have someone to share it with. Misery loves company. I've scoured the web for 3 days and have nothing.
Please if anybody knows what's going on. From my non-developer logic I need to find a way to get the changes I make to my phone to write permanently (so to speak), everything I do is temporary until I reboot.
Hmmmm... I suppose you guy's already tried to wipe all caches and reflash the kernel (= not the ROM, just the kernel) ?
Where do I find the Kernal?
It's the zImage file right?
The ROM I'm on right now is JT's CM7 here:
I wanted to try just flashing the kernal but I am unable to locate the zImage file. What directory is it in?
Edit: I found the Kernal, it's actually in the CWM 5.0.2.7 package. I'm gonna try flashing the kernal over to see if it fixes the issue.
Edit2: No cigar, reflashing kernal does not fix this issue. On a side note, I tried to upgrade to CM9 and got "Encryption Unsuccessful". Not that I am knowledgable in this, but it seems the issue may share some commonality with that.

Hi,
Yah, zImage should be the kernel.
In this thread, I found something about the issue you have. It might have something to do with NoFrillsCPU... Hope this helps

Anyway, my bad, it's not NoFrillsCPU but it's SetCPU ... It's in the OP : "Please DO NOT check the "Set on Boot" button in SetCPU untill you have tested it, or you may not be able to get control back without a reflash."
EDIT : Looks like there's a misunderstanding in me confused about the CDMA versions. Sounds like this thread has all the solutions you need. I may be wrong , of course...

I think you have my issue confused with another . My issue is that everytime I boot it's a clean boot with google account reset/desktop reset. I can't save any settings or download any apps without it getting wiped by a boot. I don't even think my ROM is currently overclocked but I'll look to see if indeed it's hiding in here somewhere.
Let me know if you see anything else that I can try :-(
Thanks though
Edit: Just checked, my system was not overcloccked and set on boot was not checked so this is definetely not the same issue.
