Could someone please tell me where I could find the frf91 stock kernel. I've tried other kernels but would like to flash back to stock. One more thing, I switched kernels when I originally rooted, so will the stock kernel even work on stock frf91 with root? Thanks

Hi,
If I have a brand new Bell Incredible S with stock Froyo ROM. I want to flash CM7 on it along with the recommended radio, but I also want the ability to completely revert back to stock in the future.
From what I understand there is no RUU for Froyo for this device and nandroid does not backup kernels or radios. That said, is there any way for me to revert the device back to stock Froyo (kernel/radio included) later on or is a GB RUU the best I can do?
Thanks,
Mark

Once you flash a GB ROM/radio combination, you will not be able to go back to any Froyo Rom/radio. You cannot flash an older Froyo radio over a GB radio, even with an official RUU.
Thanks for the info. I can still use a GB RUU to revert to purely stock GB device? Anyone done this on a bell Incs?

Yes I had a Bell Mobile Froyo and have upgraded it to the WWE GB ROM/radio.
I took a long break from messing with my phone. I stopped right about the same time ICS came out. I never upgraded. Now that I have battery issues, it is time to refresh my ROM. I am also getting a new battery. I was looking into getting the stock rooted ROM for my phone (2.3.4 with Sense 3.0). I am finding more and more ICS ROMs so I think that is where I should go.
I am currently unlocked with HBOOT 1.83.0014 with CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4.
I found the SuperGuide and it walks through relocking and reflashing the stock ROM, but the linky for the RUUs doesn't have my Gingerbread ROM. Can I relock and flash the ICS ROM?

You will need to update your recovery as well... CWM has issues on the vivid.. TWRP I suggest.

Is Slapshot's SuperGuide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836) all I need? Is it one stop shopping for my situation?
I am on AT&T and I see three of the RUUs on the link have "cingular"....if I am running GB and wanting to finish with ICS, which one should I get?

You may need to read the ICS - WARNING!!! READ BEFORE UPDATING!!! (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562890) thread before you start in on any thing. There was an issue with old recoveries and not being able to write over them.
Once you have your new recovery, there is a completely stock rom available (from AT&T), or you could use my stockish rom (link in my sig) based on the AT&T rom with all the bloat taken out, all the features left in, and with a few mods like the option to use the Holics or Faux kernels, and the advance power menu. It's very stable as I absolutely did not include any libs or junk ported from other phones.
Personally, if I were to stay on ICS, I would stay with Holics 1.3, with the kernel from 1.2. That was the most stable my phone has ever been (besides while running my rom of course, but I only used it for a few weeks as I have been able to use JB as my daily driver for a few months now )
i'm trying to do the latest ota update (6.09.401.5) to take me to 4.4.3 but it fails with com.htc.android.home.res.apk.
i think this is due to custom Kernel, using kangaroo currently.
Is this to do with the kernel 'm using, kangaroo ? If so is there a kernel it will work with or can someone tell me where i can find stock kernel ?
thanks

if a custom kernel has made change to your system, flashing back stock kernel will not revert the files back to stock. reset your phone back to stock and then you'll be able to do the ota. (stock recovery + untouched system files).
There is probably a nandroid backup somewhere on this forum or a stock odex rom you could use to reset your phone back to stock (5.11.401.10 I think)
edit: there is a stock odex 5.11.401.10 rom here: http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=One_5.11.401.10_odexed.zip
and stock 5.11.401.10 recovery: http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=Flash_recovery_5.11.401.10.rar
ok thanks, flashed arhd 81.0. Waited long enough to flash a different rom - this was the excuse i needed !
I have Pacman rom 4.4.4 RC1 with stock kernel.
I have made back up with this guide before i flashed custom rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...warning-guide-backup-restore-imei-nv-t1946915
Now i want to go back to stock.
I cant find Finland version from Sammobile.
EFS Professional says my phone is NOT perm rooted and exits.
So what do i need to do?
Flashing stock firmware includes the stock kernel right?
Was reading the N910T3 root guide and was surprised that root requires a custom kernel.
I'm assuming the previous kernel link is the stock kernel but since this is my daily driver, I want to make sure lol
