phone locking issues - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok first off yes I did search, so if i missed please just be nice and post up the link.
So anyway, first off my power button works just fine, please keep that in mind, but my phone wont lock right. When i push the power button the screen turns off and it will lock, but only for the first 2 or 3 times, then it stops working until i switch to one of the other locking methods (pin, pattern, password) but the same thing happens with those, i get just a couple locks and then it stops locking. The screen still turns off but it wont lock, not until i change the lock method.
Any help would be appreciated, if i need to explain better let me know.
BTW. Im running stock unrooted on FRG83.
Thanks for any help

Any ideas????

[Q] Lock Screen won't "Unlock"

The lock screen on my Droid will not unlock. It will move when I try to swipe it, but it snaps back and won't open. Knew it won't help, but did a battery pull, re-booted and nothing changed. I can't get to any kind of menu that I know of because it is an unrooted, stock phone. I can't use the phone at all if I can't unlock it. PLEASE HELP!!!
Come on, no responses? I know someone on here can offer up something...

u sure u swipe/pull ALLLLL the way to the right?
It happens to me sometimes for the phone call, when you did not complete the whole sliding on the very 1st time. Dunno why, but a double power button click (off screen/on) solves the problem.

Turn off trackball wake and unlock

Hello, i have the new rom eViL's NXSense v.1.26 - (F)The (I)Gravy (N)Train
I have a big issue.
When i put the phone on the pocket, the trackball option of wake and unlock, unlock my phone and touch thinks on the screen.
Is there an option or a way to turn off this function wake and unlock?
Please is there is anything, help me!
Thnx a lot.
try Spare Parts
There is not such thing in the setting, or in the main menu.
I look to all places on the rom, i don't know where i can search anymore.
Thnx
Com'on guys nobody know how to resolve this?
I cant take my phone with me outside, because of that. And to hold them in the hand , i don't want.
Pfff..so bad, this rom is awesome, but this thnig is bad.
In cyanogen ROM, in The settings, there is an option for the lock screen to be on or off. So if on, and the track ball was accidentally pressed in your pocket, nothing would happen because there's no way the swipe to unlock can be accidentally swiped.
Does your ROM have this option?
He have trackball unlock so if he press the trackball the phone wake up and if he press again the phone unlock... In my rom I have Button settings and there I have Trackball wake...
Spare parts is in the market.
Roger is like Obsy said. When i press once , wake, after that press again, and unlock. I don't have any button settings,to change that.
My rom is : eViL's NXSense v.1.26 - (F)The (I)Gravy (N)Train
I will tray the spare parts from the market, and then i told you how it work.
Thnx for the answers guys.
Spbeeking right now i will try this. Thnx

Thnx Crachek, i try dis right now, lets see how it works.
Yes it work, trackball still wake up the phone but now does not unlock them second time i push. well this is better. hope Evil, read my message and tell me how to do , to never wake the phone with trackball.
Ok it's official, the best forum ever xda, and nobody knows how to disable trackball wake and unlock. Even the creator don't answer to my pm. Well i guess i should change back to the original rom.
THnx everybody
There is no such option - means, the same file that you've flashed needs to be hacked (decompiled, changed and recompiled) again to remove the trackball wake.

Not true. I too am haunted with this issue on reider's CM10 ROM. I can verify the issue by pressing the trackball to wake, then mashing the screen with my palm a few times to unlock. Anyone experiencing this issue knows how annoying it is.
Has anyone come across a solution yet?
what a terrible problem to have

Home & Search Buttons Stopped Working

I've got a stock Bionic and noticed recently that the home button, when pressed, causes the screen to flicker but never go back to the home screen. This gets "fixed" sometimes if I pull the battery but not all the time. Also, my search button doesn't do anything when pressed either.
I'm confused as to what could have happened to cause these to buttons to stop functioning. I've tried a factory reset as well and that didn't work.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be and/or what I could try to fix these issues?
Thanks!
This happend on my eris and I had to reflash the stock rom to get it to work again. Are you rooted?

Nope. I haven't had a chance to sit down and root the phone.
I was tinkering with the phone and I noticed one thing...if I disabled the pattern and pin lock (I tried it w/both) the two keys would function correctly. When I enabled the lock again they stopped working....weird!

Unable to use screen lock

I have a Moto G 2014 running cm13. Everything was fine until my pin code stopped working and I was able to unlock my phone with a swipe. However, I'm able to lock the phone only if I touch the lock icon on my lockscreen after which it says " Your device will stay locked until you manually unlock it". My lock button does not lock the phone to a pin code as it did before.
I haven't activated Smart Lock or changed any setting and this kinda seems out of the blue.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks
I am facing the same issue as well, i tried changing roms and flashing kernals but the issue persists, also reboot dosen't help, do let me know if u find a solution.
for now i double tap the power button which opens up the camera and lets me through the lock screen but things go haywire usually around the lower part of the screen.

Noticeable delay after pressing screen lock button. System reset does not help.

This issue has been driving me mad for the past couple weeks. I'm at my wits' end and I need some expert help to figure this out. Please read this post thoroughly to understand my situation, as this is not a simple matter of uninstalling some apps.
When I first got my Note 9, the screen lock button worked perfectly. The screen would immediately turn on when I pressed the button, and it would immediately turn off when I pressed it again. However, once I got the Android Pie update, the screen lock button stopped working properly. The screen still turns on immediately, but there's about a 0.5 second delay after I press the button to turn it off. It's a relatively small issue, but it's enough to bother me.
I attempted to fix this by performing a system reset. But this did not help. In fact, this issue is still present even before completing initial setup of the phone.
When you perform a system reset, the first screen you see when your phone restarts is the welcome screen. It contains a "start" button that you press to begin setup. On this screen, the lock button issue does not happen. My phone locks and unlocks correctly. On the next screen, you connect to a wifi network. After connecting to a wifi network, the lock button issue becomes present. In other words, this issue with the lock button is present before I even start using the OS, or install any apps, or really do anything at all. It seems to be triggered by connecting to a wifi network during setup.
So I figured there must be something wrong with the firmware. So I used Odin to flash an earlier firmware version. This did not solve the issue. I even tried installing an unlocked firmware version, on the offchance that my carrier (AT&T) was doing something weird. This did not help either.
I have no idea where to go from here. I thought that a system reset is supposed to completely wipe everything from your phone, so that it behaves exactly how it did when I first got it. But that's not the case. It seems like something is carrying over that's causing this issue. Does anybody have any idea what I should do?
Do you have lock instantly with power key on?

It is probably the double tap power button to open camera feature. You can toggle it off and locking will be instant.
If its already off, there my be an accessibility service listening key presses.

Oh my god, that fixed it... Can't believe I spent so much time trying to diagnose this. Thanks!

This delay issue is so silly but it annoys the hell out of me. Where did you turn off this feature in Pie?
Update: Found it. Just use the search box in settings and type in "camera" (or whatever it is in your language). The "double tap power" setting will get listed.
Thanks alot,
Watz
I even turned off the double press for camera app but I'm still noticing a 0.5 sec lag when i press the side key
I even restarted after changing the setting
Nothing is happening
Please help
