cube like scrolling - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

how do i enable the cube like scrolling for the app menu?

If you are talking about the 3D app drawer, you may need the stock 2.1 launcher, ADW Launcher, or LauncherPro (or other launchers that might have it; I'm not sure of others). Do you have any of those?

i have launcher pro

Go to the LauncherPro settings by hitting menu on the homescreen and go to Preferences > Advanced Settings > check Use 3D drawer

I know this is an old thread but it's perfect for my question. I'm using ADW (on the AOSP Spaceman ROM) and would like to enable the 3D drawer. How would I go about doing that?

ADW Launcher by default

I am currently using di11is5.1. My question is after setting ADW as the default launcher can I remove the others. Just want to free up space. I really like ADW over Launcher, Launcher Pro, and TW Launcher. And to clarify I have already set ADW as default and if uninstalling the others will cause problems then I am OK with leaving them.

Yes you can.
How do I go about stripping the other launchers out. I have reflashed and I am now on di11is5.3 in this ROM other than ADW that I have installed is Launcher Pro, Launcher, and TWLauncher. I want to completely remove them. I have tried to use the manage apps in the settings menu. I have also tried TB. TB does seem to do a little but it did not remove Launcher Pro from the switcher menu.
In Settings, Applications, Manage Apps, I usually go to the "All" option. There, I can find any third party launcher apps I installed. Click on the launcher you want to remove, and there should be an "uninstall" option for the app. The uninstall option doesn't seem to be there for Android stock launchers.

Uninstalling ADW Launcher

Is there any way to uninstall adw launcher from phiremod?
anyone knows?
I used titanium backup to uninstall it when I changed to launcher pro.
You do need a launcher. All you have to do is to go to the market and download a launcher that you like, and there is a lot to choose from. I prefer ADW myself. after downloading the new launcher to your NC go to settings / Applications / Manage applications / All / scroll down to ADW and clear defaults. Now the next time you hit home you'll have to choose a new launcher. Now if you still wish to kill ADW its safe to do so.

[Q] How do you get to the tabbed settings menu from a 3rd party launcher?

When you open settings from the stock launcher, you get a tabbed menu like the attached pic, but when you open settings from a launcher like Nova, you get a boring ol' list. Is there any way to open the tabbed version (first attached screenshot) from Nova or similar?

Which launcher is everyone using?

I used the touch wiz launcher originally, but want to try the google now launcher. But now none of my apps show up. Am I better off starting over from scratch with a factory reset?
Which launcher are you using?
I am using nova.
Assuming you did not disable the TW launcher, go to setting...scroll down to applications and select. When that menu pop up, look to your upper left corner you will see three dots going down...click it. Choose default applications, than you will see the option to choose your default home screen under "set as default".

I like Apex, but it was becoming difficult to tell what themes, icons, launcher would stick. I'd fix one thing and something else would vanish, got tired of that. So I found a theme from the Theme Store and now I can stand looking at Touchwiz!!

The Google launcher works fine as long as you don't set up the secure folder, after that is done all the apps disappear from the app drawer...

I am currently using Nova Launcher Prime. Also have Apex Launcher Pro Installed and running in my Note 7 as just in case.
There are reasons that I am not using TouchWiz UX (Grace) Launcher nor Chrome Now Launcher as you will see below:
Here are a 4 Home Launchers that I didn’t choose to stay with after testing with the Note 7
Google Now Launcher – Way too limited. Didn’t transferred the app icons to the App Drawer. So I can’t even copy the Phone Dialer icon over to the Apps Dock. Disappointed since I was wishing to truly integrate Google vanilla experience to the Note 7.
Go Launcher Z – They only allow you to use their Widgets and no third party Widgets. WHAT!!! No Go! They also are getting into Ads and charging lots to get rid of ads (GO Launcher Super v i p price $19.99 (45% off the full price). Go Launcher Prime is $5.99 which I have.
ADW Launcher 1 (New) – Getting less customized and more Google material style. For an example I like transparent App Drawer. The new ADW Launcher only gives you colors like 90s websites for the background in the App Drawer. I used to love ADW, but they are now going backwards.
TouchWiz UX (Grace) - Very lagging, no default access to Live wallpapers, you can't see some of your icons in landscape mode, etc. I really tried to stay with TouhWiz UX. The one thing that turned me to another home launcher is that I am tired of having to go portrait mode to select apps when I am already in landscape mode.
There are serious enough problems with TouchWiz UX to give good reason for the power user to switch home launchers. TouchWiz UX is lagging, no default access to Live wallpapers, you can't see some of your icons in landscape mode, etc. We can get around that with a custom home launcher like Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, etc. I found that both Nova Launcher and Apex Launcher doesn't get in the way of Samsung's features. Meaning both of these home launchers allow all Samsung features to work within these launchers on Note 7.
Personally I don’t like "3D" home launchers. Which is the reason I didn’t try them with Note 7.
Recommendation Note:
I recommend trying either Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. Both worked wonderfully with Note 7 and provide much customization. Nova Launcher is the first one I would try out only because of the third party customization for the Nova Launcher.
I use HomeSmack to switch between home launchers. Works flawlessly with Note 7.

Not sure what you mean by "...can't see all icons in landscape mode...." for Touchwiz. I don't remember Touchwiz rotating to landscape on the home screen. One reason I've not liked it since about donut or was it gingerbread?
Nova Prime here as well.
Nova Prime, but might try AL3 ( Action Launcher ) down the road...
Nova Prime here as well

Nova Launcher as default launcher.

Hello all,
I search how can i put Nova like default launcher.
In menu settings, apps, apps by default and launcher i set with Nova but the phone don't keep this setting.
In menu settings in Nova i can't choose Nova for default.
What can i do ?
Hello,
It doesn't work in the phone settings, you have to select default launcher in nova settings directly.
Nova settings/ default launcher/ select nova.
And now nova will definitely stay as default launcher ?
Turn off MIUI optimisation if you want to set other launcher as default
Cedric3320, i've already test in menu phone settings AND inside menu Nova settings but don't work ...
For the solution of wu5262, i test now.
