For some reason within the past month my wifirouter software isn't working anymore. It says it's connected but when i try to connect my laptop it connect but has no internet signal. Does anyone know what is going on? Is sprint stopping me from tethering my laptop to my phone? Sometimes i will get "a remote connection has ended your session" message.

Hi folks, just got my diamond almost a week ago and I already filled it up with applications, absolutely love it's wide area of functions. I came across a great idea that i could use at work: to connect the phone through activesync(that will give me internet on the phone from the computer) and then to use wifirouter app to further share this internet connection. But I couldn't get this working, because wifirouter accesses my gsm/3g internet on the phone instead of the internet obtained from the computer through activesync. Anyone got an idea how to get this working?
when u connect your phone with usb u can choose : shared internet connection. maybe then it will works dnoo
I don't think you understood, I need internet forwarding from pc to phone firstly, which I managed to do already with activesync, but I also want wifirouter application to recognize the internet being sent from the pc through activesync and not connect to edge/3g.
I think u need to setup your wifi router again this time dont set it to gprs/3g select usb to wifi. That shld work it
The wifirouter application doesnt give me any options, it just initializes and thats it.

Using the USB to Wifi mode should work in this instance. That is if you're using one of the paid versions as I'm not sure if the free version supported this.
Well I have all but given up on gettin Palringo to connect on my TP from Alltel.
I have heard of a lot of issues using this program on the TP. When I try and connect its an endless loop of trying to connect with no timeout.
Any help would be appreciated.

I use palringo but i don't have any troubles signing in, perhaps there is some issue with the proxy. Have you tried connecting to the internet with another program before/while you're trying to sign into palringo? I'm not sure it will initiate an internet connection, and i have a constant internet connection due to my exchange server, and other push email
I havent had any issues connecting with Palringo... but have a setup similar to previous poster... Email running keeping data connection alive.
It seems to be an ongoing Alltel/Palringo problem. None of the MSM75XX devices will connect to Palringo using the Alltel Data connection, they will connect with WiFi or Activesync which leads to beleive that its an Alltel problem, However the J2ME version of Palringo will connect just fine using Alltel Data connection.
Yeah, been using Palringo for sometime now and have no problems like that.
Ill have to try the J2ME version see if that will resolve the issue even with the active data connection I get no connection.
Hi, I have my phone tether to computer (it does the same thing via wireless or USB cable). Periodically every 15-30 minutes teh connection drops. I am running windows 7.
The connection doesn't come back unless i turn the tethering off/on. While the connection is dropped on the computer I still get 3mbps on teh phone so there is no problem with signal.
Any ideas? its probably a setting somewhere on phone or computer..
My dad's workplace uses a F5 Firepass SSL-VPN. He wants to be able to tether his laptop using his captivate, then be able to connect to the VPN so he can work remotely from our cabin. His laptop tethers just fine to his phone, but when he tries to log into the VPN, it hangs for a bit and then fails. Does anybody know how to connect to these kinds of VPNs while tethered?
I have similar problem, using the stock vpn app i cant never get connected to the server, i have check everything is ok, in the desktop or iphone works great. now i'm trying to the with openvpn i get conected but i cant send all my traffic trought the vpn tunnel.
hi...before anyone say anything first, I had my wifi problem whenever there is blackout in our area, then I cannot connect to wifi but my sisters can connect they use iphone and laptop. whenever I will connect it shows " obtaining IP address" then it will be disabled and it will say disconnected and I cannot connect to my cousins wifi too but I can connect to my work's wifi...I already factory reset it many times but now I'm having problems with that too...please help me...
Try rebooting the Wi-Fi access point your trying to connect to, I have to do that to my Buffalo Wi-Fi router from time to time and then the phone will connect OK. Its worth a try.
