please help, no hair left from this tattoo - Click Android Development

hello sorry for another "please help" thread but i am close to giving up
ii am trying t get cyanogen on my tattoo but fail miserably each time.
i created the goldcard, seems fine.
tried using the 1click root and recovery tool, but it tells me that ther is no room on device.
are all my problems caused by having the orange 1.67.61.43 on it? and if so how can i get the dam thing off.
ive tried this
RUU_Click_HTC_WWE_1.67.405.6_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
but get an error 170.. and yes im on windows 7... but i have also tried on a xp machine.
has anyone managed to get a custom image on 1.67.61.43, and if so please enlighten me
any help would be grealy appriciated

Did you enable USB debugging?
Has the 170 default, it could be a driver or the USB cable fault.

hi, thanks for reply.
usb debuggin was on, and as for faulty cable it worked fine when creating the gold card.
that i did with tattoo in disk drive mode.
it did root but didnt install custom recovery.. if i try to go ito recovery (home + power) i get an exclamatoin mark and a little phone. that ive ben told hppens with standard recovery

same thing if i try rooting device then usinf the terminal to flash the recovery.
get errors writing recovery and no room on device

Here is the tatto-hack.co for your kernel, you must use this for a successful root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5768694&postcount=332

thanks
can i use thi with the 1click automated root + recovery.. just replace the file in the bin folder?

I think that you can. If you don't succeed, then try to use the manual method of rooting.

it worked!!!! thanks pal... really
the slow reply was because i was online shopping for a new phone, lol.. had fallen out with this one. but its all good now
it did work with the 1click effort,
thanks agen

[Solved] Stucked after rooting step1

Hi Everyone, after i read a lot about rooting i'm trying to do so...
I Downgraded my legend from 2.05 to 1.31, then I followed modaco instruction, installing adb, creating a goldcard, doing step 1.
All works perfect...
After step1-windows.bat, the Legend return to the fastboot screen. I changed my SDcard(the Goldcard) with another one (Not Goldcard)and rebooting the phone in fastboot mode. Here i entered the Bootloader, and using vol down i entered recovery mode (The screen with the black phone with a triangle and a !). then i run step2-windows.bat but i'm stuck with a lot of errors... and still remaining on the recovery mode without the wipe selection (i tried the optic trackball but nothin happens still no wipe selection)... What can possibly be? I use Windows 7 64 bit, maybe is this the problem?
the problem is daemon not running (with consequence trying to restart it), and daemon still not runningerror:cannot connect to daemon....
if needed i can post the windows terminal...
Thxs a lot in advance
Had the same problem in win7x64 when I rooted my legend. I eventually did step2 in linux running in virtualbox (you could use a linux liveCD too). I suspect some driver issues, but never investigated further.
Probably driver issues, Installing HTC Sync might fix the problem.
Hi
i got same broblem then i used the "recovery-clockwork-legend"
it will do the same thing as without connecting to the USB
it is being explained under topic "Fake-flash by Koush, launching recovery without a PC" in this forum
please follow the same step in this topic
" forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698404 "
"please make sure that u have save the both the rom that u want to flash it and the update.zip files to ur micro SD card"
Thanks and best of luck
Try to go into taskmanager and kill htcUPC, and then try step2 again, that worked for me
Solved using linux ubuntu 10.10 althought i think i can solved too with buusing suggestion... i thought too that it was a conflict on some HTC driver part but didn't know what to kill...
Howewer strange things continue to happen... recovery-linux.sh (or recovery-windows.bat) didn't work... so i managed to relaunch step2 to install the new ROM... all works accordingly then... and now i have azure on my legend...
Thank you Everyone! I Mean IT!
to solve this problem, between step 1 and 2, type on a console "adb kill-server" and then write step2-windows or step2-linux, etc.

[Q] My legend brick!! help me please

dudddeeeee calm down. let me start off by saying your phone is fine so relax. do you have an sdcard reader or something? basically something that will allow you to put a file on the sdcard and then back into the phone? cause all you gotta do is use this "update.zip" thingy. basically you go into recovery, press some buttons and then bam clockworkmod recovery. and then from there u just do a wipe and put on a rom that works (to provide you with more comfort, as im typing this my phone is actually bricked as well lol cause ive been waiting like 10 min for it to start since i put this new rom on. so ill just quickly fix that) let me know if u can get something to read ur sdcard and ill provide you with more info
i'm following this guide..i have problem with connecbot..when i type the commands it says no such file...but in my sd there are the files!!!...
Follow this guide since you're obviously usb bricked:

I resolved with this guide..thanks at all guys!!!
Help please - I tried to upgrade to CM6.1, have done it s few times i the past with great success and no idea what went wrong. believe i accidentally wipe Davik Cache. The Rom loaded, but now I'm unable to mount SD Card. I'm also unable to use ADB on WIN7 Ultimate suddenly. Have read numerous threads and google topics and have tried several solution.
1. modify google usb driver ( R8 SDk pakage)to include legend
2. various versions of HTC Sync to get the drivers.
3. using Deview to remove all HTC devices, etc
Is there anyway to mount the SD Card without ADB, then to recovery and flashing again?
PLEASE HELP

[GT-i9000]Can't get to boot menu, or use USB. Stock

Looking to root/new rom girlfriend's old phone, can't get it into recovery/boot menu.
I'm aware that the method is meant to be volume up, home button, power. I've watched videos of people doing it and read guides, pretty certain I'm doing it right.
I've done it keeping them held down the whole time (until Samsung galaxy screen cycles) and also releasing the buttons as soon as something comes up on the screen (as the youtube videos I've watched seem to do).
Have rooted my own phone and flashed several roms, so I'm moderately aware on this whole situation.
Running stock rom, I think Optus. Firmware 2.1-update1. So I think I need to update before rooting.
Download mode doesn't work either (volume down).
I also can't get it to appear on computer. Samsung Kies detects that the phone is plugged in but just keeps trying to initialise. I have downloaded Samsung Galaxy S x64 drivers from softpedia, tried to install driver that you can download as part of Android SDK. And hence, I have tried Android SDK but it isn't seen when I run 'adb devices'.
I set the USB mode on the phone accordingly. There actually was one point when the volumes were picked up on the computer, with USB mode as mass storage and debugging off, but it never happened again.
I've used two different usb cables, micro usb from Nook, new HTC cable.
Hope I've put through all the right information, really appreciate any help, this is getting frustrating.

You need to use an original Samsung USB cable or Huawei USB cable as most others will not work , for better reference visit your wiki http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series as how to enter download mode
for USB problems and solutions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571
thanks for the reply. The USB mounting is now working on another computer, the drivers must be confused on my desktop.
Surely micro USB cables are mostly electronically identical?
Currently trying to install 'Kies' on netbook... maybe that will work.
Reckon the boot to recovery command from Android SDK is my best bet?
Thanks for the wiki link, I hadn't come across that

Pin outs on micro USB cable varies and most differ from samsungs, have tested them ...laptop do function better when it comes to flashing Samsung phones , you can download Andro platina from My android collections link below for recovery or download mode
Ok, I will have a Samsung cord later. If Android SDK stuff doesn't work I'll take a look at the tools you linked. Nice collection.
hmmm got the cable, and android SDK picks it up now, "adb devices" returned an item for the phone, and adb reboot recovery and download worked.
Went on with the directions here: [can't post url, but the cyanogen mod Galaxy S full update guide], got to the end of "Installing the ClockworkMod Recovery". On running point 6, phone just loops the Galaxy boot screen.
Guess I'm gonna be looking at more of these tools, and hoping that some can operate while it's booting....
because the button commands for recovery and download modes don't work.
well ..... looks like I'm doing the usb resistor jig to try to get into download mode

Try pulling out battery, than pressing power for a min, remove sim and ext SD card, before trying again for download mode...look at Quick Fixes and Solutions link below, as IF you are flashing ICS from GB, you may need to flash it twice

i had the same problem as you! but i had 3bottons combo working, so i entered recovery and it was a new cwm(5.x.x.x) wiped data/factory reset and cache, flashed cm7 againg and then it worked. here on the forum there was a guide to get the 3 bottons combo work but i cannot find it anymore. I hope jig will help you, also if you want CM7 ask to someone more experienced then me to buil odin file for it! so you can flash it with jig!
ok I have the usb jig working. I'm pretty sure that I do have CWM installed, I just can't get into recovery mode, only download mode.
I'm a bit unsure where to go from here. I think it's Odin, but I don't know what version to use. I want to use the most up to date method possible, that's why I'm trying to use the established Cyanogen Mod guide, but now that I'm using a workaround it doesn't apply to me I guess.
I'm going to be trying to get the right version of Odin and find a guide for it (probably from your tools xsenman, thanks) but if anyone would like to tell me precisely what I should do I would appreciate the peace of mind
.... far out these recaptchas are difficult. Can't wait till I'm proper member :S
Can I use Heimdall to boot my phone into recovery mode?
EDIT:
Pretty sure I can't do that now. I've had a look through the heimdall commands now (ie read the help text from the command line). So far I'm looking for something that I can use with the flash command, to either get me back running factory, or allowing me to get into recovery mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821698 this was promising, to use Heimdall to get back the 3-button recovery mode, but the links are dead.

You can use any Odin, look under Recovery kits on My android collections for guides and kits that will get you to a working Gingerbread 2.3.6, You need to do this before you try for CM and Quick Fixes and Solutions link below have guides for Recovery and Download mode problems
Nope heimdall is a flashing tool, view Quick Fixes and solutions for recovery options

yeah but... the links inside. I'm not game to just try to download files that I think are the same
now something seems to have broken the tenuous driver situation I had going on. I got the files for EzOdin in your guides, but it doesn't pick up the phone. Neither does heimdall, even though it used to
alright, I'm done!
In the end, here were my problems:
Flashing Clockwork Mod 'bricked' the phone putting it into a boot loop. This was because I was meant to be on 2.3, but I was on 2.1 (I think).
I couldn't easily escape boot loop, because this version of the Galaxy S didn't have the 3 button method to enter recovery or download mode. This is somewhat common, especially in Australia from what I've seen. I had to enter into download mode by using the usb jig where you connect a 301k ohm resistor between pins 4 and 5 of the usb port.
It took me a loooong time to progress from here, but I think the main cause of this was usb drivers. I think for most people it will be plug and play though. The thing that got me there in the end was the right combination of uninstalling, and using the driver tool with the Heimdall suite.
I ended up having to install another rom via another method, to give me access to recovery mode, so that I could then install CM 9.1. I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991792, and had to get the files from ,https://www.dropbox.com/s/d382m2kyorzum16/ezbase recovery kit gb.zip (hopefully that's still up for future readers)
Then from download mode again, I had to redo the kernel flash using Heimdall, as described http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide.
I had problems here where I thought I was on clockwork mod but wasn't, and hence the packages were read as invalid (I guess it was expecting a Samsung/Optus one). But with that kernel flash, now that I was [*actually*] on Clockwork Mod, the Cyanogen Mod zip was recognised properly and it installed
Hope this helps future readers, and thanks for the help.

[Q] Bricked phone help

Hello,
After I've failed to find solution, I've decided to make a new thread. My phone is bricked, meaning that I'm stuck on Avatar ROM. When I try to use CWM manager, it requires me to install recovery mode, which was somehow deleted. Problem is, neither mobile connection nor wifi are working.
And I can't access recovery mode by holding buttons neither.
When I got in trouble before, I used Smartflash tool to flash the original rom. This time my laptop doest recognize phone connected through USB any time. After trying to find a solution for 2 weeks I gave up and asked you guys for help.
I have tried everything: Drivers, N/W upgrade, etc... my laptop just doesnt react when I plug in USB at all.
I almost went crazy after trying every possible driver and still nothing. Once after installing drivers and connecting phone withouth battery in N/W mode, it looked like windows recognized phone but then it said "device unpluged", and since then I cant even get this message again.
Please help! Thanks!
did you try All-In-One Toolkit ...( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737 ) first go on step 4 ( but you must have some rom on your ext sd card ) and of courese apx drivers installed on your pc
the O2X cannot be bricked! Try AIO Toolkit

I've heard about this, I treid it as well. But my main problem is USB connection between PC and phone. I have win7 64bit. Are there any other drivers I should install besides the oficiall LG driver ?
You need apx driver to nvflash, but aio leaves full instructions along the process of both nvflash and smartflash. Ohh, USB 2 are preferable so maybe you need another computer and never use hubs....

[Q] Problem with GT-N7000

Hello!
I am a complete noobie when it comes to rooting androids/installing new roms and so on but I for the life of me cannot get my head around this and I keep running into the same problem no matter which way I try.
I attained this phone from a Chinese (and funnily enough bought the phone in China too) friend of mine after she decided to buy herself an Iphone. Before she gave it to me she factory reset it and it came to me stock:
Model Number: GT-I9220
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: N7000XXKJ6
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKKA-CL726566
Build number: ANZHI.COM.AX918
So to start with one of the issues is that I cannot seem to get Windows to pick up my phone as a USB device no matter what I try. I've tried downloading the latest USB drivers from the Samsung Website, installing KIES to manage the device but nothing seems to work it simply will not pick it up as a USB device. I've tried multiple computers too so it would seem to me that there is something wrong with the phone, perhaps she damaged the connector port on it, it does however charge with no problems when connected via USB. This of course stops me from using ODIN or any forms of rooting that require it to be connected through USB. I've also followed the steps on the phone to tell it to connect via USB in the Wireless menu under "USB Utilities" and under the Applications menu for USB development support.
So that aside I was glad to see that there were other options for rooting/installing a new ROM but again I seem to run into issues that I can't explain.
First off, I struggle to find the correct rom for the kernel of my phone anywhere and when I did manage to find it, it was hosted on the HotFile website which has been taken down because of legal issues.
Second is, I've tried the other methods like the "ExynosAbuse" which tells me that my version doesn't need to be rooted and when I try simply installing a new rom (seeing as it seems I do not need to root my device) I keep getting the follow error:
E: failed to verify the whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
I get these errors for EVERYTHING that I try to install through rebooting my phone into recovery mode and "installing update from external SD." Currently the only method I have for getting the files across to my phone from my PC is through blue tooth and then manually moving them onto the SD card.
The above errors also happen when I try to install the "Clockwork Recovery Mod" by unzipping the file and running it whilst actually logged into the phone and telling it to do a recovery installation.
So basically I am at a loss as to how I can install a new custom rom on my phone, so far everything I have tried just doesn't work.
Perhaps I'm just too green and missing some fundamental step, but I've been reading/googling now for the last 2 days and it just doesn't look hopeful.
Anyone out there able to shed a little more light into this for me?
Thanks!
You have a Gingerbread version of recovery and it does not flash zip file from recovery as you already tried. You will need to update to ICS or above to use that method of rooting. Unfortunately the imo the only way is to get the USB port working so you can either update the rom or install a recovery using Odin unless some other member has to add.
Have you tried a different USB cable?

Yeah I've tried several different USB cables but still no luck.
So basically I'm screwed if I cannot get the USB to function?
Anyone got any ideas or can I pretty much just discard the phone if I can't get it to connect via USB?
Hate to post again but I'm sorta desperate, I need to know if there is something that I can with the phone or not.
Thanks!
When you try to connect to PC, if there is some action triggered by windows asking for driver somethingvthen it is driver problem. If there is no action from window then usb cable or port. You can also try to check in window device manager.
May want to try to clean usb port or look for a technician who can replace the port.
Btw, there seems to be a temporary cwm.zip which will flash and then it help you to flash proper kernel or rom. That cwm.zip is dangerous if you are using ics or jb rom. But GB rom should be fine. That is all I can think of.
Sent from my phone.
I don't think the temp cwm.zip will also be accepted by the GB recovery and will come as signature failed.
Thanks for the responses, I think the port is damaged so how because it just won't even respond in windows but it does however charge fine.
Anyways I'll look at getting a replacement port on it!
Thanks again!
