Hey I tried to do the Firerat's Custom MTD Partitions (resize Data,System and Cache) .. But I never had adb installed.. Now I'm stuck trying to get into adb.. my phone wont be located on my computer. And if I try to reflash a rom it gives me Installation aborted error. Any help would be appreciated!!
Try running the 2.1 RUU, then re-root again and go from there with custom recovery, roms, etc.

Think that you could post the link?
I have had success with this without adb...using clockwork recovery...despite that it says you need to adb reboot recovery...you could try to wipe everything and then flash firerats recovery, wipe all again, select reboot to recovery and flash your nandroid and then firerats boot

Okay, I'm not sure anymore what I did but I was using rom manager to wipe data/cache then flash a new rom, purehero for today, like normal but I got some weird error and all I could do really was reboot. I'm not sure why but when it did reboot I was all the way back to official 2.1 with no root. Now I'm stuck without root and with clockwork recovery that I can't flash my nandroid from? Any ideas on how I can either just revert back to the stock recovery so I can flash my nandroid or other ideas? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you "lost root"? You can't boot into the recovery menu at all? If you lost root, I would suggest going through the root process for 2.1. Without root, you're pretty much screwed.

If you are back to official stock 2.1, why not just go through the rooting process again from the beginning?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694572
But instead of pushing that included recovery.img to your phone (#4 in Step 9), perhaps you could push your Clockwork recovery image instead? I see no reason why that wouldn't work, but I haven't actually tried it myself so good luck.
Here's the thing, no Su app in drawer, terminal emulator says access denied if I type Su. Also my computer us down so whatever I do must be done directly from my phone. Now my phone is laggy as hell so I either need a way to swap recoveries as is so I can nandroid, it basically a way to run the stock ruu using only the phone. Any ideas?

RUU to the .5 version. Then root. Then do whatever you want.
so i have had my htc hero rooted for a while now with unevoked and it has been fine well i decide that i wanted to put a custom rom on it because i could stand that my phone was so slow. so i download and installed rom manager and it went well till i rebooted after installing the zip. yes i wiped data and cache. i even took my sd card out while booting no luck. i tried different roms and yet again no luck. i hang on the boot screen even when i try to restore my nandroid what can i do to but custom roms on?

what do you mean?
when i opened rom manager and choose the rom i wanted to install it asked if i wanted to wipe and backup or something but i know i check both. then i install the zip in the recovery boot menu and rebooted and no luck. then i tried another rom and wiped before installing and still no luck.
At the very top of rom manager, you must flash 2.5.0.1 recovery. Did you do this first?

So you flashed the clockworkmod recovery, booted into recovery and made a nandroid of your stock rom. Then, what rom were trying to flash?

This exact same thing happened to me. What I did to fix it was pull the battery, then wipe everything (dalvik, data, cache), and then rebooted. My phone was able to boot then.
I'm having the same problem with rom manager. I just rooted my desire using the unrevoked method, then ran rom manager. I did install the recovery mode first, then backed up the rom. How my desire is just rebooting to the htc screen. How do I get out of this?
Many thanks,
Joe
dumb question, but how did you wipe everything?

Hey, that's exactly the same issuing I'm experiencing now. Did you solve it? And if yes, how?
Well, a few hours later I solved it by restoring a backup and then booting went well. Also described in a thread on androidforums dot com (I can't enter the link here due to not having posted enough messages) .

I don't know if this helps, but I'm pretty sure nandroids are specific to which recovery they were created with, I read that somewhere a few days ago. If you did not have clockwork before, I would try getting the recovery you used to make the nand, install that recovery and then restore the nand. Then try the whole wipe everything and get clockwork and go to town. If you haven't tried RA/Darch 1.7 recovery, I would recommend it, I personally like it better than clockwork, it seems faster, and simpler to use.
Exactly What "Il Duce" Said Will Fix Your Problem, Same Exact Thing Happened To Me, What I Did Was Go Back To Previous Version Of Rom Manager Then Flash Alternate Recovery, AND Regular Clockwork Recovery, Should Be Good After That!

Do you have 3 button recovery?
If you do, dont bother installing, ROM Manager, you wont need it. Just copy the ROM and CWM's update.zip to your phone, 3 button into recovery select reinstall packages, you'll then "go back", reinstall packages again, then you reboot into recovery, and install your ROM
Where can i get that

Okay. So, you were running Paragon, you flashed Phoenix, and you want to go back to Paragon.
Hopefully you made a backup of your ROM before you flashed Phoenix. You then used Odin to flash to stock, rooted, and installed ROM manager.
If you flashed back to UCJF6 (Android 2.1) you won't be able to restore a backup based on Froyo 2.2.1, which is what Paragon is based on. That's why you're getting an error. You're going to need to do a fresh flash of Paragon. Place the base Paragon ROM on your SD card.
Use ROM Manager to flash the base Paragon ROM. Now, on the base Paragon ROM, use ROM Manager to restore your backup.
I'm hoping you did everything one should do prior to returning to stock with Odin, as in creating your backup, disabling your lagfix, etc, before using Odin to get back to stock. Also, take into account that you need to have the same kernel installed on the newly flashed ROM and the ROM you're attempting to reinstall. So, if you had a custom kernel installed when you made your backup of Paragon, make sure to flash that kernel on your newly installed base Paragon before you try to restore.
Good luck.
The sad thing is that i cant use rom manager i rooted my but it doesnt let me use clockword recovery

I'm having a problem with rom manager as well.i get the error downloading recovery. I may try to flash an older version I have on my laptop. I'm using the stock rom and rooted.

I too am having a similar problem, I'm on stock and trying to get ROM manager to work but it won't let me flash ClockworkMod Recovery or even an older version. As stated already I get the error message "An error occurred while downloading your recovery." However, it seems that if I select my phone as an i9000 Galaxy S, ClockworkMod will download, but it won't work.
And for the record, using the 3-button recovery I only get the options of:
reboot phone
reinstall packages (which says the update.zip is a bad file and won't open)
delete all user data
delete cache data
I should add that this is the first time I've seen this situation and usually I'm able to "install .zip from sd card" but in this case I can't.

My apologies. I should have read your original post a little closer.
You can try installing clockwork recovery manually via this method:
Take the attached zip file and rename it update.zip. Connect your phone via USB to your computer. You'll notice there's already an update.zip file on your phone. That's the update.zip which was used to give you root permission. Take the newly named update.zip file (clockworkmod) and replace the update.zip (root) on your phone's sd card.
Now, disconnect your phone from your computer, and power down your phone. Press the volume up AND volume down button at the same time, then hold down power. Keep holding all three buttons down. The ATT screen should pop up once, but keep holding down the buttons. The ATT screen will pop up again, and now, you can let go. This should get you to the stock recovery screen. Use your volume down button to scroll down "reinstall packages". Use the power button to select the option. This will install clockworkmod on your phone. Now, it'll come back to the same stock recovery screen. Tick down once again to "reinstall packages" until clockworkmod pops up.
I'm not sure if ROM manager will work with this version of clockworkmod, as I stopped using ROM manager a while ago. I just reboot into recovery manually and navigate clockworkmod with phone's physical buttons. I guess you can give it a go.
If this doesn't work, something might have happened with with the odin flash, or a lagfix wasn't disabled prior to going back to stock, or Dalvik cache wasn't wiped, or your cache partition wasn't wiped, etc, and you might be out of luck.
When I want to flash a ROM, I always make a backup, copy the backup onto my computer, backup my apps with Titanium Backup, copy that backup onto my computer, disable any lagfixes, flash to stock using ODIN, master clear, root, install clockworkmod, copy the new ROM zip file to my SD card, do a factory reset in clockworkmod, wipe cache partition in clockworkmod, and wipe Dalvik cache in clockworkmod, then install my new ROM.
I've never had any problems using those steps. Good luck.

If your s-off try a fastboot erase. If your not look into it. After a fast boot erase do a full wipe. Then reflash your recovery via adb. Then backup all your data to your pc. Then format your sd threw your pc and restore the factory defaults. Then reformat your sd threw recovery. No swap no partitions just fat/system. Then redownload the rom and gapps. Flash the rom then gapps right after. Then see if its boots up. If it does then boot into recovery make a nandroid, restore your data then and carry on. If not then run the ruu in zip format. Then update your radio, profile and prl. Then locate the hero root apk thread. Follow the instructions. After that you'll be rooted again so boot into recovery and make a nandroid of your sense rom for future updates then reboot. Then boot back into recovery do a full wipe and reflash your choice of recovery via adb then reflash the rom and the gapps. It should boot up. Hope this helps.

Rom tool box has an option to reboot to recovery, also you could 'adb reboot recovery' from a command line. But if you have tried to manually enter recovery and all it did was factory reset your phone then most likely you don't have cwm installed. Idk the why but some zips do some weird things when flashing and I am assuming something has loaded the stock recovery back on your revo. Just reinstall cwm and you should be good to go.
I would also check and see if you have root access.

Which way do you boot into recovery since it has obviously worked for you. I re-installed CWM and rooted.
If you're on the stock Rom, then you will need to use an app(quick boot, Rom toolbox) or manually like you have been. If done manually it will still ask you about wiping the system, just accept twice and it should boot into cwm. Brokenout has it built into the power off menu

I just reset everything and delete all the files in the clockworkmod folder and re-flashed and it booted into CWM. Thank you for your suggestions
I know I might be a little late but you can flash cwm 6.0.1.1 via clockwork mod Rom manager... And it is has setup to reboot into recovery.
