Does SGS i9000 support bluetooth PAN? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyone here know if SGS i9000 support bluetooth PAN? If so, how and where i can find this? I already paired my SGS to my mac but the tick box for bluetooth pan is greyed out. Thanks in advance.

It's not officially supported yet. There is some experimental pand (pan daemon) for pan bluetooth profile support built for android which is then supposed to be setup with iptables for the IP part. Never tried it myself, but if you are persistent and in good relationship with Google, linux shell, networking, iptables, routing, you should be able to get it working.

BlueTooth Wizard and BlueTooth Profiles

I have bee trying to find some post regarding the BT functionality and Helmi ROM, but without any luck.
Does anybody of you know how to enable BT wizard and BT profiles on Helmi Rom?
Or is there any way how to enable BT Personal Networking with this ROM?
I am only able to use Serial Port profile ...
**** .. looks like i am on my own .. really nobody misses the personal network and other BT features?
As far as i remember PAN is not supported with MS BT Stack, try installing Helmi's Broadcomm 1.7.1 Stack
PAN for me is pointless ... but that's only my opinion

BT Pan

Hello,
is the Pan Profile working?
I tried to connect my Him with a DBT-900AP D-Link BT Accesspoint. The Him. is paired with the AP but it cant explore or recognize any services of the AP.
Anyone here who can help?
Phil
Didn't try btpan yet...
Almost all my spare time (which I don't have too much) I spend on gprs thing...
bad news ...
bad news ... is any rom out there which can use Handsfree Headset, GPS and BT Pan without switching the Stack? I hope wm6 can do this soon, because the pan profile is in the stack.
I've try this. My pc tells me that im connected but i can't access. How can I use remote desktop if there is no PAN?
With BT? No way. Can you explore the BT services of your PC? I can connect, too ... but there are no services to explore - so no Pan to use.
Anyone here to give us some hints to solve this Problem?

[Q] Verizon SGT Bluetooth Problems

I picked up a SGT from Verizon and am having trouble with bluetooth. It won't pair with either a Jabra or Motorola brand headset. I can get it to pair with my Apple Bluetooth keyboard, but it won't connect. It just says "Paired", but does not function. I'm using Skype and GV on this and would love to be able to use a bluetooth headset. Is this unique to the Verizon model? Has anyone else had better luck with a T-Mobile model?
Thanks!
Apparently vzw left the bluetooth HID out (unlike tmo). So the vzw tab can pair with keyboards and mice, but cannot connect to them. There are hid drivers in the market, but I haven't tried any yet. I have a bt keyboard on order. I tried a mouse,it paired fine but wouldn't connect. There have been many reports of this.
BT headsets haven't had any issues that I have heard. My moto s9hd paired and connected the first time and has been ready whenever I have needed it.
r
I have the T-Mo version and I can connect and pair BUT...
Audio from the other person plays through the BT headset and your voice is via the Tab's microphone... I put the Tab in another room and made a call and all the other person could hear was the TV in the other room.. Once I walked back and picked up the Tab they could hear me...
TMO Profiles?
I have a Sprint Tab and it pairs but refuses to connect. I'm wondering if there's some way to extract the TMO drivers from the device, and stick them elsewhere. Also, I don't know a lot about the bluetooth driver architecture. What exactly is it missing? The kernel drivers for it? Or some other thing?
I had the same trouble with my Jawbone and Think Outside stowaway keyboard.
I called Verizon about this and the tech told me they had no profile for headsets or HID. They have stereo headphone support for music.
Very disappointing that they would do extra work to remove functionality, but I'm certain a good rom will become available that fixes this Verizon blunder.

What I'm reading is that Android doesn't actually support BT HID in this release. I'm still wondering if it could be extracted from TMO or some of the European releases and pushed with ADB.
The other thing I'm wondering is about CyanogenMod. They've had an experimental bluetooth HID thing that's been working decently, or so say the posts, for a few months now. I'm wondering if it's a high enough level of abstraction that it could just be put variously on any device, as long as the processor architecture was the same (or is it up in the java level so that doesn't even matter?)
I know nothing, to be honest, but wanted to just advance a few questions. Not sure how many people are actually interested in BT HID, but for me, it's a dealbreaker for whether or not I hand this device back in.
I've had the same problems with my Verizon SGT. Verizon apparently deleted some Bluetooth drivers. Why? I don't know. This is the only problem I have come across with my tab. If anyone knows of a driver that will connect Bluetooth devices to the SGT please reply. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Bluetooth

I know by default the stock rom doesn't support bluetooth, but is the hardware actually onboard and disabled, or not there at all?
I am wondering this as well...it would open up a lot of possibilities for the nook, such as a bluetooth keyboard...or even using it for Skype with a bluetooth headset...
BT reference in the B&N kernel sources
Hi,
I think it could be enable
In the kernel sources we can notice this :
gpio_direction_output(WL127X_BTEN_GPIO, 1);
Maybe it is the GPIO for BT enable
We just have to dig for the UART connection.
I think it's just a problem of BT licence.
Cheers Occip
Is there even a bluetooth chip / antenna in the NookColor? I did not see any on the tear down.

kindle fire hd bluetooth gps

does anyone know if we can put a bluetooth gps receiver for the kindle fire hd?
Well, I can tell you that the TomTom MKii will not pair with the Fire HD. I just got one yesterday and found out the hard way.
I get this error message:
Cannot connect
The bluetooth device is not compatible with
this Kindle. Please pair with a SUPPORTED
Bluetooth stereo headset, speaker, keyboard
or source device.
Not only that, but the app needed to make it work will not even install, much less run.
I got it from Amazon, and believe me, they heard an earful about it today on the phone.
question
Would it be possible to make a hack to enable spp bluetooth profile on KFHD. Because the tomtom bluetooth gps receiver uses that profile.
I have to completely agree with drhanley i wish i could have at least bluetooth gps on the kindle fire hd.

i am new to the whole bluetooth profiles, i search the app store for an app that would allow spp profile but i am not sure.
i been looking at this app BluePair - Bluetooth SPP but i am not sure if it will work
app description
"if your mobile phone doesn't support Bluetooth SPP Class 0 device discovery, then this software is for you. With BluePair SPP software installed, your phone shall be enabled to pair with these devices. eg.Disto D8 laser distance meter This software does not look for devices automatically. Software usage: Enter MAC address in the Edit Box. MAC address is labelled on the device usually under the batteries (DISTO D8) or on the back of the device. This software is needed only when third party software is unable to pair your phone with remote Bluetooth SPP device. I tested this code with Samsung Galaxy Fit Android Gingerbread 2.33 mobile phone and Leica Disto D8 laser distance meter. If you have queries or suggestions please leave a message at http://libella.com.au/android"
i need to buy the tom tom gps
I tried the BluePair on my KFHD rooted and it paired with my BT GPS just fine using the MAC address, but it would not connect. When trying to connect I got a Javaexception IO error and that was it....
