PB99100 on 850Mhz? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I have a Nexus One PB99100 (900Mhz Version) and I want to go on a network which runs on the 850Mhz (Telstra NextG Australia, like AT&T).
What I want to know is, what will happen when I use a 900Mhz phone on a 850Mhz network?
Thanks

Haha, i'm the opposite. I have a 850Mhz (Telstra) Nexus One and use it on the 3/Vodaphone network. This means that I have to use Telsta's network when roaming. Annoying and expensive.
Maybe we should do a swapsie.

Telstra DIAM130 on Optus 900/2100MHz network?

Hi, I have been researching for a bit and i dont think i saw a conclusive answer... Lots of people wanting to use DIAM100s on Telstra's 850Mhz network, but i want the opposite. I am looking to buy my workmate's telstra branded Touch Diamond, and use it on Virgin Mobile (which runs on Optus's 900/2100MHz network). 3G on 2100MHz works from what i can understand, but what about 900MHz?
Can the 850MHz enabled DIAM130 use 900MHz for GSM with a radio update? I just want to make sure i am contactable when i am outside of the city
Thanks in advance (sorry if this has already been answered - I did try searching but couldnt find an exact answer)

[Q] Nexus One APN for STC (Saudi Telekom)

hi everyone
so im in riyadh for 3 months and i brought my Nexus One with me. most everything is working fine with my prepaid STC sim card, however I am not able to access the internet. the people at STC are clueless in why its not working and they don't even know what APNs are, lol. but the problem is obviously the APNs
Does anyone have the correct APNs for Nexus One on STC (Saudi Telecom Company)? I really don't want to buy another phone here, everything here is quite expensive!!! a nexus one is 2300 rials or ~620 USD!!!! any help will be greatly appreciated
Hi welcome to Riyadh
STC's APN is: jawalnet.com.sa
proxy is : proxy.jawalnet.com.sa
Port: 8080
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
thank you
thanks siddiqui, the internet now works however it goes off and on and i only get GPRS speeds. is it possible to get 3G service working? is there a different apn in order to get that? thanks in advance
Should be an APN setting issue, Are you sure you have the correct version of the N1 for your network?
p.s. this should be in the Q&A forum
i hope so, i bought the nexus one the second day it was introduced from google. at that time it was only available with the 1700 & 2100mhz (tmobile) 3g frequencies, which i assume is the international standard? i know a second version was introduced to worked with the 850 & 1900mhz (at&t)...so what am i doing wrong??
No I have the same version n I'm also getting some problems in the 3g network, its not your device's fault actually the STC's 3g network coverage is bad
There is only one APN for stc.
Why don't u try the other service provider MOBILY its much better than STC
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
i'd love to switch to mobily but when i went to mobily and asked their representatives whether its possible to transfer my number to them, they said its "too difficult and that i have to get a new number." which i find very strange considering its advertised on their website!!
raqme plan:

I thought the AT&T 850 & 1900 was stardard for international. The T-Mobile version bands was their own.
@futango is it? i don't know. because tmobile is a subsidiary of deutsche telekom which is present in a number of european countries, most of which do not support at&t 3g bands, but this is just an assumption because there are many 3g band frequencies out there
N1 in Riyadh
Please tell me where i can buy a nexxus one here in Riyadh
Thanks

its right across the street from the sahara mall (take imam abdulaziz rd), in the electronics district next to the ministry of communications. you can't miss it but be prepared to pay at least 2300+ SR
Guys I'm having a strange problem in my nexus one. I have a T-Mobile n1 with un rooted froyo 2.2
I have 3g network from STC and I'm getting internet in all my application except by browse, I can't brows any sites when connected to 3g or even 2g or edge, but I can check my gmail, gtalk, Facebook and all other sw.

[Q] Which Version for T-Mobile?

Can someone tell me 100% for certain which version of the Incredible S I would need to be able to use on T-Mobile's 3G?
hey, I also wanna know about this... which is the best option either to buy HTC set in Malaysia, or buy a new one in US??
You want to get the s710e, I use that model on Tmo.
The Incredible S has all world bands as it is a world phone. It is unlocked, and can be used on any network, and can use all 3G speeds on any network.

not entirely true. yes, the Inc S box in your posts shows you can use all world networks for voice and EDGE networks. however, you need the 710a if you want to use at&t's 850/1900 3G network. looking at your picture, you'll notice that the 850/1900 band is not listed next HSPA/WCDMA settings. 710e is what's needed for T-Mo USA to access their 3G network

You are correct. Sorry about that. I thought it covered all 3G bands. I'm actually looking to get one myself for use on T-Mo USA, and the person who told me said it will work for both T-Mo and AT&T in USA, but now I see. At least it will work for my needs. I do have a question regarding the languages. For those who have one does it have English (US)? I'm currently using a Desire HD in the states, but it's only 2G here, and it only has English (UK), and it limits the phone for me.

[Q] Will a T-Mobile Nexus One get 3g in UK?

I have the T-Mobile N1 (1700/2100 I believe) and was wondering if it would get 3g on any service provider in the UK, and if so what service provider(s) will it work on? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
Yes, your Nexus One is fully compatible with all GSM/UMTS providers in Europe - you won't have to worry about supported frequencies.
so I'll get 3g on all of them as opposed to edge?
Yes, you will be able to get UMTS ("3G") reception wherever it is available and will be able to use the faster data standards HSDPA and HSUPA on your Nexus One, just like with T-Mobile US, on all networks.

that's great. thank you so much for the reply
I know you've got your answer now but just so you're certain I live in England and bought my N1 back in January, straight from America on their T-Mobile network. Been using both Orange UK and GiffGaff (on O2 network) since then for 3G without a problem.
cool. thanks for confirming this

[Q] Unlocked galaxy note on Cincinnati Bell apn issues

Hi all, I am having trouble getting my unlocked note that I bought from amazon working on my Cincinnati bell network. I have voice but after searching the internet I tried a few different apn settings but can only seem to get the 2g edge network and not 3g let alone 4g. Any help would be greatly appreciated
i believe 2g is all you will get. cincinnati bell runs 1700/2100 3/4g and your note uses 850/1900. same problem as tmobile usa except the few western states using the 1900 for 3/4g.....
Jesus, how can a country that influent be so totally retarded when it comes to getting a mobile phone to work across the entire country? There's like a million standards and not even the same within a single operator. Get with the times - heard about GSM/WCDMA you know that the rest of the entire would uses?
Sent from my superior GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Thanks, I heard T-Mobile runs the same network as Cincinnati Bell, would their galaxy s II work then?
tmous branded "should" work.. uses the same freq...
You can get more than 2G. CB has their own 3G network but you have to go to the store and upgrade your SIM card

That does not seem to be the point here... The point is that it seems Cincinnati Bell uses frequencies that are NOT compatible with the N7000 being the 1700/2100 band as opposed to the 850/1900 band that the N7000 uses.
