[Q] Best firmware (froyo) to use via regedit hack for the Philippines

The title pretty much sums it up. I've been itching to get my hands on froyo for the SGS for weeks, and I'm at the point that I can't wait much longer. So, I was wondering what's the best region to use for my upgrade and what are the possible problems I may encounter such as network compatibility, drivers (or lack thereof), etc.
My phone is unbranded and not SIM-locked. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Just out of curiosity, what do you think would give me a better android experience stock 2.2 or Samsung's 2.2.
Stock 2.2. You might brick your sgs like i did my nexus one.

Thanks for the quick reply, but what I meant was, what's the best region to get Samsung's official 2.2 firmware from (i.e., Nordic countries, Hongkong or other European countries, etc), since it hasn't been released in my country yet. And is there a possibility of encountering problems with network compatibility or drivers, etc.
I think I9000DXJPA would be fine for you. I may reflash it using this since im using the JPO right now.
Got my update to Froyo a few days ago. Im in your country bro. Q.C. Use Samsung Kies. Root it with z4root. Don't lag fix it cause it causes the qwerty to freeze on my SGS.

Are you sure you can't update yet from KIES?
DXJPA is now available.
ROM wise, I prefer Doc's ROM with HardcoreK9A Kernel.
CWM ULK advance features: data = ext4; dbdata = ext4
all tweaks ON

[Q] Vodafone Australia

Hey Guys.
It's been a little while since I played the custom ROM game. But I just got a Vodafone Galaxy Tab.
I'm not sure how I flash it, as the options for flashing are only for US version in ClockWorkOrange (I think that's what it's called).
Any help would be great.
I'm running an optus tab and have flashed the MCK ext4 kernel and the MCR r1 both seem to be very stable. But as far as i can tell any euro kernel and rom will work fine. I have also used the CF-root by chainfire which was good for keeping things relatively stock.

I'm with optus got a guide?
hey there, I have an optus galaxy tab - data plan etc.
just wondering if we need a specific rom and I suppose most importantly where to get started ? do I need clock work from rom manager or would that be a bad step?
cheers
Don't touch ROM Manager if you value your Tab. All recovery images are currently based on ClockWorkMod, but you'll want to flash it normally.
Look in the general forum for rooting/flashing guides.

[Q] HELP WIth update!!!!!!

I recently purchased a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy Tab and I flashed to Euro version to enable phone fuction. I love my Tab and it's so awsome far beyond the ipad that I used to own. Additionally, my tab current version is froyo 2.2 and im wonderding that is it possible to update it to Gingerbread os and how????
MILLions Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hop over to the development sub-section of the Galaxy Tablet forums. There are quite a few options for GB firmware, especially on a GSM Tablet.
Best idea is to check out the overcome thread, they have instructions and all else needed to flash gb.
