Looks good, lets hope they don't wait too long for release.
Hopefully it isn't just a coloured in version of 3.5.5.

it looks like they ****ed up the UI O.O

Found this elsewhere in the fora,
Check it out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNO7lL7g6pc&feature=player_embedded

not quite a breakthrough as they say it is,since everything is already seen and well known....and as far as the carousel, their biggest invention, is concerned...it is completely useless...as already seen in 3.0 and 3.5
i liked spb ms2 the most...there were fascinating skins for it...it wasn't a battery drainer, and almost had no impact on performance of the device...the only tiny thing lacking was the ability to do some adjustments without editing the code...
cheers

But still no release date?
or am i wrong?

It appears you are dead right. I've been digging and searching but nothing. Still, according to the press release they are talking to the manufacturers. This would suggest that they are holding the cards close to their chest at the moment, but judging by the fact it's complete, we're talking weeks, couple of months tops. They won't hold on to it for long.

Cool, they say this will be less hungry on battery life which is the only reason I had avoided it in the past.
I've already noticed that it seems to make the device freeze when booted up until the bar appears at the top - about 40 seconds wait before you can open the start menu.....
Aside from that the gradient indicator is quite a nice touch......

thanks but i don't see any difference than the previous build.
Yeah not much difference, maybe a little more stable, and a tad bit quicker.
I like use it, thanks for share.
thanx newer build, mostly more stable
i just started using it and it looks much more stable. it is almost fully usable. tere are still some issues, but you can see some improvements. however, i can't wait for official version. what's the official delay anyway?

Nice job man.
this build fixes the hardware keyboard problem for me. plus it zooms in real close while you are typing, which is good also. typing is a breeze. Also, the giant favorites got a tad better. I think they could be even a bit smaller still. it seems like i could smoothly "toss" the screen around by flicking my thumb by default on the 1026 build, but this build has a different feel when it comes to thumb navigation. lastly, it seems if i push the hardware windows start button, opera automatically goes landscape on me. anyways, that's what I've noticed so far. hope i helped! later.

i agree, i got an opportunity to use it today for about 20 minutes. Things I noticed:
- I like pie
- Opera is great for basic browsing, such as google, and better for intense data transfer
- Firefox is coming soon !!! ( from what I have been receiving within 2 weeks to a month) Where is the beta????
Very nice.
Has anyone got a mirror for this? Can't work out those pesky cats to save my life!

Yeah, what he said. Its a pain to download anything from that site. I think they do it, intentionally, so that you up-grade to Premium.
very nice, it seem to fix the issue the previous build had: didn't set opera as the default browser, this one seems to solve that. liking this build so far.

this version rocks!
this version is soooooo much better than the most recent version from the end of may...i think it was 1126. i can't wait till they iron most the stuff out and either come w/ a RC or just the final version.
Yo guys, can someone upload elsewhere, i have never been able to download from Rapidshare
thanks.
Thanks for the app. It's great!
Hey, I love this new version. I was wondering if its possible to get FlashVideoBundle to work on it? Especially since it takes over as default browser, and I've been unable to set PIE back as default, without deleting Opera. Was just wondering if there a registry hack to make FLVB work with it? Thanks.

Liquor? I hardly knew her!!!

Ha. Gotcha.
I don't know...I'm at odds here...
With taxes coming in (I know I'm getting a nice refund)...I am torn between getting a touch pro 2 (Tilt 2, whatever)...and a Leo...
I have a touch hd at this time, and the one thing that really gets me is the lack of TV out, which the TP2 has. A small, insignificant thing to some, but with 2 children and a van, the old Fuze I used to have really came in handy.
But then I look at the Leo, with its huge screen, 1ghz Snapdragon, capability to be upgraded to wm7---but also, no tv out...
Or should I just wait a little longer to see what comes up???
Any ideas???
Rumning Poll
Touch Pro 2- 0
Leo- 1
Ican'tmakeupmymindeither (aka Orb3000 poll)-1
hd3/tp3- Stop confusing me!!!!!-2
there has been some news about HD3, I don't know whether its for real or not. It would be a grand device looking at its specifications.

If hardware keyboard is must for you go for Rhodium!
There won´t be better choice till 2011
If not a hardware keyboard fan but you can wait and $ is not a prob, then go for HD3
If can´t wait go for Leo
Dam the HD3 sounds like one sexy beast of a phone...any hope of that being for AT&T as well, i was rather disappointed that the HD2 never made it
Didn't even know that there was an HD3 in the horizon...gotta google...
edit...okay, googled it up...even though they are just rumors...no...way...this would be the ultimate phone...that is, at least until a 2ghz model comes out...

Dang... But you'd have to wait until November...

True that. Hmm. I'd definitely have to say the Leo, though.
theres rumors on a TP3 as well

Great one!
I guess it depends on what you want in a phone. From the research I did in phones, the TP2 is a great phone. The others are great but are expensive if you buy them outright. You might consider providing more details other than the phones you're trying to choose from. Like what you want in a phone.

Single button issue?

I am not trying to troll, but I am genuinely curious.
I've played with a NC at B&N and it seems like a pretty sweet little tablet for the money, but how is this thing gonna run a custom build of android if it only has one button on the front?
Has anybody been able to make a version of android that works with a single button?
Check the forums here.....now that this is rooted, a bunch of us are already running a wide array of apps with no issues.

The other soft buttons are screen the bottom of the screen in all non full screen apps. Works quite well actually.
Nice!
I've already got an ipad, but I'd buy one of these just to fool with if it gets enough support on here.
Now you can remap the vol + and vol - to back and menu.

I'll be quite honest, IMO this is one of the best Android Tablets out right now. It by far has the best screen in class. There will be support

Then what about adjusting the volume? Can't software buttons be implemented like on the Archos 70?

One thing that makes me smile

I love how HTC used to get so much **** for having a laggy UI with Sense. I was one of those who kind of hated on Sense and really dissed it. Now I have noticed TouchWiz has become the Sense of old. Bulky, laggy, and way too big for its own good. Kind of funny how the two companies have done a reversal. I used to purchase Samsung devices just to avoid the lag of Sense and other UIs. Every video review I have watched, the reviewer has complained of lag on the S4. For once I will actually stay with an HTC device until my next contract renewal. I feel it was done right. One thing that isnt fair though is that nobody seems to be giving Samsung the hard time HTC got about their overbloated UI overlay. What gives?
Oh, and the classic "The reviewer or people posting negative reviews and comments about the GS4 are paid by HTC" wtf, really? If someone doesnt like Samsung products they are assumed to be crazy and must be getting "paid off" to post negative comments? That's really unfair and childish of them to say. Anyone else noticing unfair biases?

I noticed that as well. Sense 5 is smooth, man. I haven't had any lag, outside of me messing with governors and such, and I've read several reviews that say Touchwiz is kindof laggy. People aren't going to give Sammy any **** though because they are the top dog. While I'm glad they are android (for now) they are in the position that Apple was not long ago...nothing they can do is wrong even if it is. It's a little annoying
I actually really like sense 5

My phone is bone stock, and will more than likely stay that way.
the only thing that seems odd to me in Sense 5 has been the lock screen..It kind of looks like its not meant for the current state it is in..It looks like it's set up and preparing for Android 4.2.1-2..Looks like they are preparing for lock screen widgets and I cant wait!

Well of course there will be some testing. I'll have to flash a few ROMs to see what each offers. I wouldn't mind checking out Paranoid Android on here. :good:
agreed, the only thing i want in sense is quick toggles! i used them all the time on my GS2. Luckily the mod is already out for this. That and the MMS compression fix. Other than that its pretty impressive out of the box.
But yea when will we start seeing AOSP stuff? I know the phone is only out for a wk or two but I'm looking forward to seeing the development section start to fill up.

I believe there are people working behind the scenes on some AOSP stuff. One problem would be the new SoC Snapdragon 600. I don't think there is a reference device running android on this platform yet.
I'm really diggin sense 5 in general. Blinkfeed is awesome.. I always had a currents widget on my furthest left screen anyways.
One thing I dislike. Is that the app drawer still scrolls gingerbread style. I'd like it to be paginated.
And as for quick toggles like i've seen in a few posts. We don't want quick toggles! we just want the 4.2 update. Then it should be pull down on left 3/4 for notifications. Or the right 1/4 for the toggles that are just built into android now. The quick toggles of the past are pretty ugly in comparison.

I guess by paginated you mean horizontal scroll instead of vertical. I too find this odd as Sense 4.0, 4.1, and 4+ all had horizontal app drawers.
I also like this, but what I have done is make folders and put the apps in there so I only have one page.

Used to have it in Sense before it was even an Android thing. Best part of my EVO 3D.
This is the first phone I can say I may not even want to put an AOSP rom on.

The folders in the app drawer has been something I really like that I wouldn't have thought I would. Now I am down to 3 homepages instead of 5 or 7. Would be nice if they could hold more apps per folder but it still makes my app drawer so nicely organized.
