I have run into an issue with my phones internal memory running low at 14.97 MB. My hero is rooted and running Fresh 2.4. I went through the process of partitioning my SD card(class 6) and made sure app2sd was running. I have close to 80 apps installed. I'm curious whether my memory should be that full with app2sd sunning properly? Also what else is stored in internal memory?
I realize I may have left out some pertinent information to this problem but let me know and I will provide it. Also sending me a link to a spot for more information would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Download and run cachecleaner?
Yes it can be. Apps 2 sd only moves /data/app by default. You can move /data/data to card too and free your space. Check out tkirton's apps 2 sd thread for more info.

Yeah, definitely, which is why I recommended people to read it carefully
I set my mtd file to 110 3 and I have 347megs of internal space....its awesome being able to keep a few extra nandroid back ups on my SD card, for sure

Didn't try the internal partitioning readjustment but I did find that just moving the dalvik cache to the sd card helped out a lot.

You could always use fast reboot. It doesn't actually reboot your phone, but it will close EVERYTHING you have open. If you have the pro version, there's a widget and ignore list. Free version is in market.

I am using the newest cos 2.3.4 and I noticed when I move apps to the sdext 4 it dosnt change the internal storafe amount. But if I put them to just the sd it does show a change. Is there something wrong with my ext or is it just not showing right. Also what is the correct way to use the ext4 e.g. what apps to put there and wich ones to put on regular sd? Sorry I am a noob with the sd partitions.

Did u wipe before installing the Rom?
Did u follow these instructions as quoted from the OP of the COS-DS ROM?:
"DO NOT USE A2SDext scripts with this ROM , before playing around with your applications, enable move apps from COS settings, and choose SD-ext as defult in Settings/Applications. You can and should move apks from sd-ext to phone as you like (seams apps set on sd-ext also will set the dex there!)"
And concerning which apps to put on ext, and which to not, you can install all apps on your ext4, except ones that must run on internal memory, like phone, messaging, camera, etc.
Thanks for the reply. Yes I followed the guide to a "t"
It shows that I am using some space when I check the system storage but when I check where the apps are installed it only shows one on the sd. Maybe its just a glitch that don't show them in the manage apps screen. Either way gotta say I am pleased with the performance of the rom. One more question if you don't mind, why can't I download any of these through rom manager? Its always either corupted zip or download failed. But the cm roms download fine, any guesses?

Yea, roalex has done some amazing work.
That, I do not know. Maybe the mirror is not working, who knows, you should ask roalex. I just download all the builds on my computer and transfer them to my sd.

Hi, New to this....
Have the Tab running 2.3.3 and I have noticed that everything is being stored on the external memory, in that SD card is showing 767MB left of 14.83GB. Internal is showing 10.92GB left of 12.83GB.
Would like advice on what to store or move to internal and what to keep on external, for safety's sake?
Many thanks as always.

Best to start with is apps2sd and follow their instructions . Further, now and then with a filemanager walk trough the folders and files. Last but not least checkout the cache. E.G. The stock mail apps take lots of memory and the bin can't be emptied so change to K9 e.g.

Download this app from the market and give it a try. It moves your apps to SD Card (if they can be moved).
Yea, I don't think you can make your SDCard a standard memory for apps, like above, only thing you can do is move them afterwards, but still some apps can have problems afterwards. So you just need to try
Hello guys,
I'm sorry if this was a repeated question.
But i was wondering how we can change our default installation path on galaxy note?
Because the problem is everytime i download something from google play, its installed in the phone memory which is only around 1,5Gb
What's the use of 11Gb that we had on usb storage then? Can we somehow change the default path to usb storage?
And i don't want to use external SD card. I think that's all, thanks guys! Waiting for your respons!

11gb internal storage is called sd card. App2sd is what you need.

I've tried that and it refers to the original function of move to sd card from the application settings. And it didn't work it says couldn't move not enough storage space and its because i dont have any sd card insert.
Therefore 11Gb usb storage only useful for extended game data and photo or music?

Using App2SD you can only move some part of an app to the 11GB (called as SD card or internal SD) memory..also, you cant move each & every app, since some apps needs to be on the Phone memory (memory which shows ~2GB)..I am using App2SD to reduce the load on Phone memory..it wl b useful for apps/games, especially which r bigger in size..what I believe is the more you keep the Phone memory free, the more faster your phone will be..

Thats a better option..buy a 32GB memory card & move all the stuffs like movies, music, photos, docs etc etc etc to it..use 2GB+11GB (in built memory) only for apps, games & their data..
Even 64GB card works on our Note, as per the below thread:

I know this is a very late reply sorry
but i wonder you were talking about moving apps 2 sd
However, i moved all apps that are movable, i have no pics, videos, music or whatsoever . Yet, the internal storage gets full very fast to extend that i can't update apps anymore
I hope during the last 4 years someone figured out a solution
my phone has a custom lollipop rom and its rooted

Its really simple ,1st you flash this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=18061 , then you https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762635999029 install this trought this new installed recovery , and you now have 6gb memory for installing apps, and 7gb on sdcard0
data=6gb (means +4gb for apps)
sdcard0=~7gb (means -4gb from the stock size)

Hello.
My girlfriend's s5830i is always givin her the low memory storage error.
She has got Mindcr ROM, rooted, with apptoSD, and every app in the SD.
She hasnt got many apps, only over 10 (installed by herself). I have moved all contacts to her google acount, and I have deleted all SMS.
Can I made a partition in the SD for get more internal memory or something like that? I have heard that with ROM Manager app I will break the phone.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks you.
Go into the cwm recovery then go to advanced. Adter that select parition sdcard. Then select the size and wait until it's ready. Then search in the development section for cronmod script and install it through cwm. It will move everything of your apps directly in the sdcard so you have just 1 - 10 mb use in internal memory.

Sorry, she has got Link2SD and every possible app in the SD card,I would like to improve the internal memory for put in the phone apps without limits of space...
Maybe some partition that makes the phone believe that it has got more rom or whatever. What do you have? When you install an app in the SD it takes some internal memory too...

I have 53 apps installed and still 59MB internal memory free.
When using Link2SD choose the option 'create link' instead of 'move to sd card'
The advantages of 'create link' are explained in detail on
