This really belongs in Q&A, is it really that hard to put it where it belongs? I mean really? This happens every day and just looking at the Dev board you can tell it was cleaned up once today...
Thank you

So I mistakenly installed the i9000 voodoo lagfix kernal.......problem is.no voice calls on my phone. I'll tell what state my phone is currently in, and where i'd like to be, and any help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
Current State:
Firmware Version 2.2
Baseband Version I897UCKB1
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9
Build number Froyo.UCKB1
Phone build 1006
rooted/shell rooted/market enabled with SuperOneClick
I disabled the voodoo lagfix but still have the I9000 kernel apparently (splash screen and no voice calls)
Where I want to be:
Stock Froyo
Rooted (which I know how to do)
Voodoo Lagfix built on captivate kernel, not I900 (because I like to talk on my phone)
That's all I want. Odin1click seems to not want to work for me anymore, unless I'm apparently doing something wrong in my method of operation.
I cannot seem to find a stock Froyo rom? Maybe I just don't know how to search the forum, because I can't ever seem to find anything very easily.
Please someone help me, this is my only phone, and I had to borrow a laptop for the night, to fix my phone.
well........nevermind, imagine, after a giant pitcher of amberbock and a shot.......
first thing i do when i come home is get the correct kernel with voodoo lagfix installed
wtf. no more I9000! So I think I got to where I wanted all by myself, well i mean I didn't make all the oneclicks but you guys know what I mean!
edit: i did a quadrant, I feel I have the stock kernel installed but not lagfix as my quadrant is only 900 something? doesn't seem right cosidering
i was close to 1800 before on i9000 *sigh* Still would like to find a stock ATT FROYO rom Just in case
Quadrant means nothing. I ran two benchmarks one after each other with the same setup and got 900 and 1500. It only looks big when you compare it.

Just look for the voodoo folder. If it is there then it is installed. As for your scores that seems about right for a stock Tom, the i9000 Tom's will always be faster as they are more updated

Well its there just dunno if its from before. Also before whem I rebooted into recovery I would go into a 2nd screen that was red that would let me enable or disable lagfix.....doesn't happen now.....dunno if I really care though cuz at least I can talk on my phone now lol....anyone know if supercurio is working on voodoo sound built on captivate 2.2?

Yeah that was for the universal lag fix. Not voodoo. As long as it is there and no disable lag fix folder then you are good. It would not have carried over as the stock flash wiped it when you flashed the update. Not sure if he is as he doesn't have the device. And they are building kernals on more updated stuff then 2.2. Only time will tell if he does. I am more looking coward to the 2.3 port lol

I was wondering how to enable the 3g on my captivate. Im using Continuum v6.1, when I load my web browser it says 3g then turns off n says H. Is this a normal issue or should I flash back to a different rom. Sorry im fairly new to this and I didn't find anything related to my issue in the search
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
H stands for hspa. It is a faster form of 3g, it is capable of speeds twice as fast as normal 3g.
Oh really? That's great thanks man. Learn something new everyday.

Is there any way to increase the in call volume on the Bionic using the default rom rooted? I love the phone but have been having trouble hearing people on the thing... Which is a problem since, at the core, it is a phone after all...

Hmm. You have used this one with the stock rom and it worked? I tried it but it did not seem to have any affect. Maybe I did not change the right setting. I'll give it another go. Thanks!

I wonder if there's an app to increase the volume for the earpiece??

I've just gotten off the phone with a second-level tech at Verizon who said that variable call volume will be addressed in the next Bionic software update. He also said that it's currently in beta, and will drop Mid-November.
That's really great news. Hopefully it fully fixes the problem.
When i set my alarm using voice commands it sets on the correct time but it doesnt set on anyday. As in when i look at the alarm settings for that particular alarm, mon - sunday is unchecked. Im on cm9. This also happens on my htc sensation 4g with virtuous Inquisition. Anyone know a fix for this?

Unfortunately the voice recognition computing is still far from perfection and specially on light processors like phone devices.

Well it used to work great for me on stock on my old phone tmobile g2. And now im on a note which is blazing fast. The command works perfectly except it doesnt set the alarm on any days, which is just annoying to have to set manually.

This is what I am looking for:
3d converter (movies too? haven't seen it...)
overclock
as close to stock as possible/very lightweight launcher so I can use SPB shell.
so far ARC looks closest to this, I just don't want to miss out on options I am unaware of.
Thanks all.
After careful trial and consideration, I decided to stick with 20p since I use this device for work. That said, I have tried every ROM available on that baseband. The winner is Mokee. Here's why...
4g does work.
Wifi works
No call dropouts/ lost sms/ ghost.
Killer interface
Fast as hell
I did not install gapps. I installed via market what I wanted. I like that market was included with nothing else.
Bluetooth works. This is the only ROM that connected to Wifi and bluetooth worked without editing.
Network connected without need of editing flex.xml.
Gripes-
3d is gone. however, the functionality of the ROM and speed of it outweighs the loss.
I have not tried any 3d apps, but having looked at the source, I don't see it being possible from this ROM.
Strange quirk I noticed, when charging by default the phone lags like hell. You can adjust this to your liking in the power configuration, which is far advanced from the default.
You need to install su for certain apps to work properly, and the integrated over clock force closes. As modders, we are not shy of these apps or setcpu. Use them. The kernel does not support above 1008, but I find with the power manager and setcpu on "performance" over clock is unnecessary. Battery life extends by single click, custom settings for the power manager is fantastic.
Winner. 8/10- if 3d worked, it would be a hands down 10.
Great job development team.

the only thing i dont like about Mokee Os is the echo on calls, is there a fix for that?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
i havent had any issue, but i also use the app called equalizer instead of dsp... maybe something to do with it?

Glad you are enjoying your phone more with mokee...
You are correct that the 3d will not be able to work... I think pictures work and that's it...
As far as the overclock force closing I can't find what's wrong with that...
The rom is cm7 based so I believe other cm7 compatible kernels should work if you want overclock... but expect wifi bt and other radio issues... Swhy I figured the stock speed is more than enough...
I tried replacing the default superuser app but the rom doesn't respond well to that.. need to research that more...
I will be updating the rom soon to base off of the latest nightly so stay tuned...
Thanks!

3d camera is working in mokee, it switches the screen into 3d mode. Thus, it may be possible to integrate the 3d interaction.
If this is the case however, as it stands now, there is still an "on/off" ability for 3d. Using this Rom as it is designed now, in order to utilize the 3d it would need to be switched on at boot and would remain on until either the camera is switched on or off, or by full reboot from what I can see.
Any thoughts trek?

It could be a cm bug. Try to keep the volume at 75% or lower and see if that helps.

Oh yeah o.forgot about that... if your volume is to high it auto shuts off... the lowering volume will stop it from happening...
