Hi guys,
When I travel I always open the navigation app and get everything set up before I put my phone on the dock so its very annoying when the CarHome app auto launches after I put the phone on the dock since its pointless because I already have the navigation app running.
Does anyone know how to disable the CarHome app?
P.S. the weirdest thing of all is that I already deleted BOTH CarHome.apk and CarHomeLauncher.apk from my phone but the icon still appears on my notification bar (though when I press it, it goes away since there's not app to launch anymore)

I tried this out today. Its claim is to "[d]isable apps and remove them from the launcher, without uninstalling them. Stow away apps you rarely use, or hide built-in apps you never use.." Also good for T-Mo US Rom root users to hide that useless Amazon MP3s app.
I tested it out by hiding (the app uses the term 'stowing') a Better Keyboard Skin shortcut, a widget shortcut and normal application.
The App Vault app does have an issue with requesting root permission, it requires it for stowing/unstowing each app (and multiple times for each app) it adjusts instead of having a global permission. Think of it as Vista's UAC for Android, compared to Windows 7's.
Stowing a Better Keyboard skin shortcut does not change any of your Better Keyboard settings. If you had that skin selected, it is still in use. However, you cannot reselect that skin in the app's skin manager anymore. The shortcut was successfully hidden from the launcher.
Stowing a Widget shortcut (I used Battery Status) was less successful than the Better Keyboard Skin. The widget remained on the home screen, but it no longer updated. I could also add the widget to my home screen still, so I did, but it remained at 0%, unable to update to the real percentage. The shortcut was successfully hidden from the launcher, however.
Stowing a normal application (I used the Babbler Facebook app) worked the same as uninstalling the app. Its home screen shortcut turned into the default APK icon and was unable to launch. It's widget remained on the selection screen for widgets, but like the Battery Status widget, it would not update. And like the others, the shortcut was hidden from the launcher.
Overall, it seems the vault is useful when hiding applications you don't use (especially stock apps), but not widgets or commonly used applications. As the Better Keyboard Skin was the only app that was successful in stowing and still being usable, and caused the least upset to me, I think I'll refund the application.
I hope someone can find a better use for it than I can.

hmm i wonder if i put something like set cpu or autostarts or something that you only configure once and then dont touch if the configurations will stay .. going to try it out
Why wouldn't you just use the modified launcher, you have root already, CM has it as default along with some others.
Caution when using this application.
DO NOT HIDE THE USER PERMISSIONS APPLICATION
if you do this, the app WILL become unusable and you will not be able to access root permissions in any way. the app should really be disabled from being hidden from the get go just to be on the safe side
Playing around with the app manager I noticed that there is in fact a Dialer app that runs, but soon after you bring up the app manager, it hides it from view. It takes a few seconds to do that, so if you scroll down quickly you can catch it, select it and it gives you its info.
Is there a way to modify settings to get that Dialer app to be visible? I have already rooted the tab.
in the apps part of this u can change the contacts app and get the dialer back for vzw still doesnt work if u call it just goes directly to the home screen no fc nothing.

Hi everybody
is anyone using the Notable app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icechen1.notable) on Nougat?
It is a neat reminder app that allows you to take quick notes that sit in the notification panel, which is very convenient as you have a constant notification icon reminding you and you can access the note-notification from anywhere.
Anyway I have a problem with it:
I think I set all options not to have it closed on sleep (in phone management and in the app settings), but still sometimes when I wake up the phone the notification has disappeared.
I get it back as soon as I reopen the app, but obviously, it being a reminder app, having to relaunch it every while makes it kind of useless.
Do you have any suggestion?
Either for a solution or for a similar app that I can try.
Thank you
I'm talking about the little microphone icon. I used to tap it then tell Google what to search for. I've had it go missing before on previous on my Note 5 but I figured it had to do with the custom ROM I was running. But now I'm 100% stock and the microphone has gone missing again.
I use nova launcher and when I restore my saved launcher configuration the app icon appears but then disappears as soon as I try to use it.
Maybe the app was updated and you'll have to place a new widget on your home screen for it to stick.

I know that yesterday I had more than 5 apps locked in the recent menu app but now I can only pin 1 app. (Running DTH7 and I tried to downgrade to CTF4 this morning but it failed)
They stupidly removed the "lock this app" feature (a feature which only pinned apps and didnt keep them in the ram) in One UI 2.5 and replaced it with "keep open for quick launching" a full keep in ram option that's limited it to 1 app at a time.
What beats me is they could have added that 1 app keep in ram option and still kept the unlimited pin app options (the old lock this app feature) as I the same as many used it to keep Google Maps, and Spotify or the likes immune to being closed automatically accidently by clicking close all apps.
There is a work around is to install Goodlock and the Task Changer mod but then the only bad thing is that once you lock them you are unable to close them at all.
I usually use it for spotify, gmail and linkedin, since I have issue with getting notifications from both gmail and linkedin like the system is killing them or something.
Thanks for the Goodlock heads up!
