Everyday I am going to gather my change, and put it into a bowl. Every month some of it will go to the developers.
I am going to start of by donating to xda.
Soon, you are going to see a star next to my name !
Very well then!
Here is the donation link for easy access!!
Hope more members can follow you as donations are quite important

Everyone:
I am hoping there are some great people on these forums to help donate for Prader-Willi Syndrome. My god-niece Sophia was diagnosed with this unfortunate genetic disorder and it is heartbreaking that she will never have the opportunity to live a normal life. She has been in the hospital more times than I have ever been in my entire life and she is just turning 1. XDA gets millions of members on their site. If everyone just donates $1, a big difference can be made. If you can't donate, please vote this to the front page. I am hoping that the XDA community can make a difference.
Here is a link to the site. You can read her story, and more on Prader-Willi. There are walks happening all over the US. If you don't donate on her page, you can also donate to your local walk as well.
Thank you for everyone who sends in a donation.

Eventhough this can be for a good cause, unfortunately we cannot allow these kind of threads in the site. Sorry.
On that note, thread closed.
Hey guys!
My name is Tobias Gawrisch and I'm a student of social science / sociology at Ruhr-University Bochum in Germany. I'm now starting with my master thesis and for that I want to do some research about what motivates programmers to work on open source software and other free software projects. Most people studying economics will say that money is the driving motivator in our economy but I think that especially the open source community is a fine example of people being motivated to work without the prospect of earning a lot of money with their work. This hypothesis is the basis for a short Web Survey in order to get some first hand data about the reason why programmers are "working for free". It will take about 10 min. max. and is, of course, completely anonymous. And I'll be glad to provide all my outcomes afterwards.
I would really appreciate your help in this matter, this would boost my master thesis a lot!
Here is the link to the survey: www (dot) soscisurvey (dot) de (slash) codesharingmotivation (I'm sorry but as a new user I'm apparently not allowed to post links. This post has permission from the Administrators, so maybe a moderator could alter this link to be clickable?)
This is an open survey, so please feel free to share it with everyone you see fit. I need as many participants as possible to get valid data.
I took the liberty to ask up front if it would be OK to post such a survey in this forum and received permission for that after using the contact form from the Administrators. This is a solely academic survey.
Regards,
Tobias Gawrisch
Just wanted to have a short shout out to everyone, half of the time for my survey has passed and I really need more participants, so please take part in this survey and pass it on to everyone you see fit! You would really help me out!
Regards,
Tobias
I have been using XDA developers for a while now and it has got me out of a few sticky situations. The community has been for the most part very great and the mods do their up most to make sure it stays tidy and user friendly.
The developers do all of their work part time and what I mean really is in their spare time. I'm sure I speak for most when I say to to each and every developer thank you.
Yes there is a thank you button available in each ROM, theme thread but I find words are better.
Your time spent and effort put in and also help provided by the community and developers is appreciated.
P.s if moderators find this thread to be unproductive and wish to remove I fully understand. However I just wanted to express my views of XDA and how much I for one value it.
I'm using xda for almost a decade and couldn't agree more. That's why we also support our devs by either buying their apps or by donating to them to show our appreciation.
And don't forget. Devs are not the only one to donate to, XDA also can receive it and help reduce its server maintenance costs.
Hello guys,
If you want you can Mod edit: Link removed to this project to raise some money for Greece. Imagine if every one of you donate even 3€
Thank you!
While your cause is noble, these type of threads are not allowed anywhere on XDA. You are welcome to post a donation link in your signature, which it appears you have already done.

Like every forum of XDA, this forum is also have great importance, not straight forward it helps in developing a device, rom, kernel but refresh our mind and serves as a seed to be prepare for do better by ask freely, tell freely anything.... It almost give joy, knowledge everything but if we want to say thanks to anybody for his/her post, there is no ' thanks' button..,.so give yes or no in favour or denial
Mine is ' yes' and yours........? Give views
Thanks totals are fairly meaningless here overall. This isn't a social media site. But, they generally are a sign that someone with a higher thanks total is a helpful member, a great contributor of development, etc. To boost that total with thanks earned for the topics of this section would greatly misrepresent a person's contributions to development, or support, the things this site is about.
So no, it's not going to happen. :good:
I'll close this thread now.
