Does anyone have Openvpn working on Froyo JPC?
It is a simular question like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=727224&highlight=tun.ko
The problem is that I don't know how to compile the Samsung I9000 kernel sources for a working tun.ko.
Can somebody help with compiling it for me?
All I know is that you can't use it if you compile with 2.6.29 kernel source. I'm trying to compile nilfs2 module compatible to froyo 2.9.32.9 kernel and i'm stuck with kernel symbols.
contig_page_data
mem_map
These are very annoying and i've got no idea at the moment.
What should I do?

Sorry, I can't help you with that. Anyway, I switched back to JM7 because JPC is not so good. Response to finger gesture is sometimes to slow which is verry annoying.
Maybe somebody has a tun.ko for JP7?
hey guys.. i want to use cifsmanager to mount network shares on my captivate running Cognition v2.3b8. i've tried searching xda but i only find references to other phone models and other kernels. does anyone know where to find the cifs.ko and utf files that i need to do this or have another solution?
thanks
I can't help you fix it in Cognition, but if you're willing to change ROMs you should check out Assonance, it comes with SetiroN's kernel which has cifs support
i have searched to no avail. is there a flashable file for the wifi changes based on JPA modules? any battery/wifi improvements would be great.
if anyone could point me in the right direction id be thankful.
Cheers.
Hi guys, today tried access my pc shares by sgs, and it looks like my current kernel doesnt have cifs module (cf 3.2).
My question, is there any kernel for jvh with cifs support available? or can I add cifs module to current kernel, if yes how?

Try this kernel module: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12997697&postcount=123 (also linked in one of the first posts in chainfire's thread, IIRC).
thanks. it worked.
slow-work.ko + cifs.ko for JVZ (2.3.6)?
about five days ago, i flashed stock JVZ firmware to my SGS. so far, my experience has been excellent: smooooth(!!!), quicker browser, no battery drain, stable.
rooted it with CF root 4.3, works fine.
i just need new CIFS kernel modules - anyone know where to get compatible slow-work.ko and cifs.ko?
i am aware of this post/thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=761414. they used to work on my previous JVP firmware, but none of the modules shown there can be loaded in JVZ. insmod slow-work.ko always returns "exec format error".
or, if anyone cares to explain to a non-developer (but a power-user) how to compile them myself...in plain ENGLISH please ;-)...i'll make some and post them here. sorry, all the threads i have found here so far regarding self-compiling kernel modules assume reasonable pre-requisite knowledge, which i dont have... :-(
thanks in advance!
Do you have any progress with the issue, damazta? I have same problem: slow-work.ko + cifs.ko for XWJVZ (2.3.6) on SGS. No compiled modules for the params.
thanks already.
Yes there is. I am using alliance rom's base release jw6 right now.
It is very close to stock samsung FW, runs super smooth, fast and stable AND includes a pre-compiled cifs.ko module, which works like a charm!
Highly recommended. Great forum over there with idiot-proof installation instructions. Go for it!

Hi All,
i have upgraded my samsung glaxy S to the latest firmware version 2.3.3
kernel 2.6.35.7I900XWJVH
On android 2.2 i could use vpnc and tun.ko to connect to a cisco ASA, using insmod tun.ko
but the tun.kp that i have doesnt work for android 2.3.3, i get the below error
insmod: can't insert '/../tun.ko' : invalid module format
I would highly appreciate it if someone could help me with troubleshooting this, or maybe provide me with the correct tun.ko to make vpnc widget work, i highly rely on this to get working, and have no plans of moving to iphone which has a dedicated cisco vpn client..
Please help, am in desparate need.
cheers
