For some reason my sms time is a few hours off only on incoming messages. When I send a txt it shows it at the right time though. It makes reading txt convost a lot more annoying. Any ideas?

It's an Rogers issue... search the market for smstimefix. put in your offset, and all future texts will show the right time I've had this issue on 2 unlocked android phones...
Thanks I will try it. I managed to fix it just setting + 0 on the time zone and setting time manually

Go into whichever app you want to vibrate (email, sms, gmail, etc.) then go to menu-settings-notifications 0r menu-settings-more and look for notifications.
Worked with each menu setting s thanks a ton people

Time stamp on sms received msg is wrong how do we fix this
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Is it of a year ago or what? Be clear please. The sms timestamps are correct here, but if you reply within seconds (same minute) the reply appears above the last received message, that's an app fault, nothing we can do about
no not for xda app ..sms timestamps are wrong for me they are right but for the person who texts me its is like 4 hours wrong

I'll assume you are on Rogers or Fido as their network has this issue with unbranded phones. You'll need to download SMS Time Fix from the Android Market and have that run in the background.
thanks will try
Use Go SMS Pro
it has the option to correct this
plus it is the best SMS app

The last time I checked, Handcent did not offer the option to adjust time stamp. The choice is to use SMS Time Fix with the stock Messaging app or to use Go SMS Pro.
Thanks worked

Whenever I get a message from someone, all I get is their number. I realized it was only happening with my facebook synced contacts. I believe its because the facebook contact number has dashes (555-555-5555) and when I receive a text, it doesn't (5555555555). Is there a quick way to fix this? Or do I have to add every number and join it to that persons contact?

Sorry that I couldn't get back until now, but I'm using go SMS. But it does it in any messaging app. I tried checking the stock SMS app, and the same thing happened.

It is due to the way the numbers are saved. You will have to link them and make sure they are set up the same way as the ones that work.
If you're using google sync too you might want to go to your contacts and edit your google contact details cuz I think the contact list uses google details over facebook ones

I remember this bug a while ago on older devices.. google it, its on the web somewhere. It's either something in the phone settings or clearing data for an app

So I'm trying out blocking mode (picked up the S5 on an extra line I'm not using to try it out). I have notifications, calls, alarms all set to be blocked. The time is checked as "always", but I'm still receiving emails, as well as when I text from another phone, it comes right on through. The allowed contacts is "none". Anyone else tried this? Did I miss a setting?

shouldn't stop them from coming through it only stops the notifications for them, in other words no sound or vibration. i havent used it personally but that is how it is supposed to work
Ah ha. I get it. Thanks. I guess I was assuming like an "airplane mode that allows wifi" lol
