It seems a leaked Android 2.2 update was released for the International Galaxy S. It is NOT compatrible with our US models, but I figured Id post it for those who want to look at getting it to work on our US versions.

Just checked this out.. Looks fairly promising, basically requires a regedit to get it to download the file.. hopefully i can see what it will do for the Vibrant.
looks legit, but man they were about to lynch the OP for a while there in that thread haha, I guess it's only a matter of time now...
crossing my fingers that T-mobile will do a fast job on getting the update ready for us to

Yep, almost certainly going to be like the first froyo leak all over again, lol.
So FYI, for those who don't know, flashing the previous froyo leak via odin, and then trying to flash back to stock JFD, was the only confirmed way to truly brick a vibrant, so PLEASE don't do anything unless you know 100% what you're doing.
This likely isn't like eugene's version of the previous froyo leak yet, and will probably flash the baseband, which is probably still irreversible (that's the part that caused bricks when trying to revert.)

just flashed the new JPA ...and all seems to be fine...IMO works better than JPM...what do u think guys?
WTF 3 leaked firmwares / day!
could you post build.prop here?
"SamFirmware
Samsung Galaxy S Firmware: I9000JPJPA Online! Android 2.2! (Build date 7 October 2010!)"
It's an american firmware too according to them

What is better with JPA?
I find it odd as all them have the same build date.
With 3 firmware with very similar build date, I think we're looking at basically the same firmware that are meant for different region. Giving more indication these could be the final build/official froyo, else why would they branch out the firmware (assuming first theory is correct of course )

Umm no they don't... they clearly state it's arabic.
Tbh i doubt there is much performance difference between the 3 firmwares there have been leaked today
Already made a thread about this but I would love to know how good it is compared to JPM

thats why there the source code for FroYo is only for jpm because jpm is the base ..and the others are regionals..
so expect to see more jp?s coming ..expecting from Asia..(Japan) as they are releasing froYo next week!..if not this Saturday..
and also from Australia... (3 big carriers!)...
and yea US..
so really u cant say Jpa is better than jpm..for starters..u cant tell how good a firmware is just with playing with it for less than 2 days...!

No, they have a special piece of software that creates the number - the random seed is provided by the GPS in a Galaxy S.

Where can I find the safest and newest version of Android 2.2 Froyo for Samsung Captivate?
Sorry, I am new to Android and don't know much so any pointers and directions would be great! Thanks in advance!
Post goes into Question & Answers section. If your looking for a good rom with a captivate base go with Cognition or JJ4 optimized.

Yup agreed with everyone they are all leaked. But if you want to find the closests one to stock ATT, then find the One-Click JI6 Odin by DesignGears. That is as close to stock as it gets.

LMAO So true its funny.
I did and update on my phone today and it said there was an update available. Whenever it tries to install it, it fails at 50%. Is that supposed to be 2.2 or is that just a baseband update?

On my sgs+ i have 2.3.5 officially from Samsung

Well, it depends on your carrier. In Romania I think Vodafone is still on 2.3.3 but I found the official 2.2.5 version on this forum that contained Vodafone RO.
I am not sure but it might have your country too, try checking that out and try to manually flash it if you really want 2.3.5
the question is, when will samsung officially release ICS for us? 6 months later?
EH. I am afraid that i9001 will be forgiven phone for Samsung.
It's not SII, not Nexus, not dual core.
Still got phone, but they dont care..
Hope we got custom =)
Don't be such a pessimist.
I9001 is a second line of best phones of Samsung. I think they will wait some time and release ICS.
I wonder if Google after taking over Motorola will do the same for Motorola phones
Surely he will get an update out of the system Gignerbread. How would it look as if the phone did not get either one big upgrade?
GalaxyS - i9000 came with 2.1, 2.2 and now got a 2.3 - three large updates.
Certainly we get 4.0 ... but when? Under the 1.5 years we have google android update.
But when does ICS lunch?
I think a port might be faster than an official release.
ICS is coming out in November I think.
And judging by how the development for i9001 is going, I'd say the official version will come quicker than a port...

On a serious note, I think that ICS is not such a major update tbh. I'm not impressed at all. Just a slick interface, that's it.
As for S plus - I think we lack such a big powerbase around - I remember a website selling it with the image of a regular S, which was retarded, so I doubt an incoming update.
Yet if they'd come with one, they better come with it for the Spica too, hurr.
Thanks to Task for providing us this before KMM 3.2 came.
but some users were wanting the Israel version instead of the US (some say is smoother and more responsive)
I got lucky and kept the CW zip file of it and so decided to uploaded for you guys that are wanting this.
Note this version is as stock as you get and so is not rooted..but the same rooting procedure applies so no issues there.

I am running kk1 from Taiwan it has an earliest release date
Had enough with custum ROM's as they always have issues for the sake of half a sec speed increase
Kk1 runs very smoothly so just check samfirmware though for that you may need odin
I highly recommend it
