[q] jpk 2.2 froyo - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all...!!!!
i have installed JPK today 2.2 but i have serious problems with speed and lag... the phone stacks in many apps and it seems tha it has too many bugs with beta versions...
should be wise to return back to 2.1????
any opinions? thanks a lot

XXJPH here and no problems, rooted and lagfix installed....
Strange....

It working good.
Rooted and with oclf.
Most problem people can have is they flash with wrong pit file.
And they import apps and settings front 2.1.

Superoneclick works alright. I've heard it doesn't root official KB1 yet. I could be wrong Cuz I think the official KB1 is garbage. If you want KB1 then flash cognition.

No, I've heard that SuperOneClick is pretty much the "only" way it'll root the official 2.2 KB1.
Ok, I upgraded with kies, and got kb1( uckb1), and I rooted with superoneclick (1.7). No problem at all, but I did use a computer running windows 7.
About ji6. There is now an Odin for UCJI6 (i think it is one click, but not sure). I found the link somewhere in the forum,i don't have it handy.
If I find link, will post.

Yeap, you should be fine to use any of these ODIN files.
2.1 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBSMALFJ
2.2 - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QL6NX702
If you need instructions, just yell again
I would probably recommend the 2.2 one (if you're not going to flash any custom ROMs).
If you are thinking of custom ROMs, then I recommend going to 2.1.

Many thanks to Venomio for these links. He supplied them to me in the course of another problem I had.
Hah funny story
so here is a funny story,
so I flashed using odin back to jf6 and then used kies mini to get to kb1, but halfway through the upgrading process the kies mini force closed and my phone was semi-bricked. I sent it into samsung. it came back, same cosmetic wear, ENTIRE inside of the phone was replaced
Wow. What build number is your Cappy now then?
They sent me one with kb1

[Q] lag fix issue

I have rooted my phone and downloaded the OCLF. When I try to run it, it says that I already have a lag fix installed. I have not ever loaded one before and I am getting Q-scores in the 810 range. Can anyone help?
the O in OLCF should stand for OLD...
+2 oclf is old stuff. Get you some ext4
Sent from my SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
Is the best way to get ext4 to install Voodoo? Looks like the one click lag fix is unsupported.
What is the best way to ext4 without having to flash a new ROM?
Just flash a kernal that has voodoo on it and that is compatible with your current rom.

[Q] Notification Bar Lag - Any fix?

Apparently, when i drag the notification bar down, it's extremely laggy. Any way to fix it?
Had the same problem earlier. Then I downloaded oclf from market, now didn't seem to had any lagging problem. Not sure whether it is oclf or something I did. Now no more lagging tho. You can give it a try.
Btw, I also read that custom rom does take care of lagging time. You may also want to give it a try.

I downgraded back to DJ30

lagfix causing lag on overcome gold?

I upgraded from stock froyo to oc 2.0.0 gold.
Then I noticed some lags.
the worst were in the gallery app which had about one fps while thumbnails were loading and in maps when zooming in to a level where buildings are displayed and then I then scrolled. This totaly stalled the device for more than 10 seconds sometimes.
Then I disabled lagfix in recovery and now it feels like in froyo again, both maps and gallery (i have about 800 photos on the device so itcan be easyly reproduced.
I wanted to post it in the oc thread in dev section, but I do not have permissions to do so.
Any ideas?

any ideas of what if you already found the solution ? ... they have to work on it little bit more give them time , they will release an update so wait
For me my problems are solved, but isnt this the purpose of this forum to tell others?
I know that there were reports of lags but I dont remember someone pointing at lagfix to cause the lag.
Sorry if this was already known.

Your gallery will lag after a new rom, as it needs to build a cache first.
If you followed the instructions perfectly when flashing overcome you shouldnt have any lag
I followed the instructions 100%. Really pedantic.
After killing and restarting the gallary app the lag was back evrry time, rebooting didnt help either. It didnt seem to be a cache issue.
After disabling lagfix galary was fast right from the start.
also all other lags I noticed vanished.
I can turn lagfix back on and see what happens, my guess is that lags will come back.

The lagfix could be borking with the included tweaks, but you dont need the lagfix anyway
Yep, lagfix is a stupid name for a filesystem conversion anyway.
I admit I did not know what lagfix was until I tried to disable it, heard the robot voice and then checking via adb shell for mounted filesystems.
I have no problem with rfs and will stick to it for now.

if you want ext4 see here

ok I converted back to ext4, tested and converted to rfs once more.
with ext4 gallery lags like hell, with rfs it is okay.
Strange..

[Q][JVP]Random reboots might be due to USB storage?

Hey there, I am sure this is not a kernel issue anymore. Tried different kernels with stock JVP and custom roms like F1, tweaky JVP and so on but still facing the same issue.
Launching certain games, will halt/freeze the phone randomly. Anyone could hazard a guess where it might have gone wrong?
I tried moving the game to USB storage, which I assume is Int SD Card, the phone reboots! How do I fix this?
And am getting this only when not on flight mode.Still have to search the problem.will try re-flashing again!

Am getting this with some of gameloft's games... Because it accesses SD card?
I never had this issue.. i'm on stock deodex ramad JVP with CF 3.7
... i think that is kernel relate or maybe there is old system files which causes it..

I've had a few random reboots on a stock JVP rom, with JL2 modem. It seems to happen when i wake the phone up and swipe to unlock. It happened a few times yesterday, but hasn't happened today.

Are you using tw4 launcher too? I think that's the problem.

Stock without tw4 launcher?
I flashed again. Am on sephamore. the problem is with which Tw4 you flashed and what lockscreens! I flashed a Tw4 that does not modify framework.

Oh I see, possibly my lockscreen don't go well with TW4. TW4 was very messy for me, I can't launch certain games like Plants vs Zombies so I switched to launcherpro and it works now.
Yes reboot is due to system app...posibble culprit is TW4 isnt compatible yet for 2.3.4
