This is a rooted ROM built from a properly signed, unreleased HTC Sense/Froyo OTA package. This MAY NOT be the final HTC/Verizon release of this build, so assume it is an early leak of an upcoming release until confirmed otherwise. The OTA does NOT contain a radio update, in case anyone was curious.
ROM Details:
Deodexed and zipaligned.
Includes all system components and full boot image.
Pre-rooted with Superuser 2.3.6.1.
Ramdisk modifications to disable ro.secure, enable adb on boot and support startup scripts in /system/etc/init.d.
Absolutely nothing removed.
Installation:
You must be rooted, have nand unlocked and be running a 2.x radio. Follow dadicus' guide for details on how to perform these steps.
Perform a nandroid backup of your current ROM, in case you change your mind or encounter issues.
Apply the zip via Clockwork Recovery. It has not been tested with any other recovery.
If you are coming from another completely stock ROM (i.e. Sense 2.1 or 2.2), you may not have to wipe data. I obviously recommend wiping data (since it will eliminate any possibly bad/stale configuration), but the update script will not do so automatically during installation. Use your best judgement to determine what works best for you.
Disclaimer
As with any modification (ROM, patch, etc), you run the risk of damaging your device. While unlikely, it is important to consider this possibility before proceeding. I take no responsibility for any such damage, data loss or otherwise.

I'll put together a list of files which has changed between official releases. Beyond that I have no way of knowing. This hasn't been released so there's no changelog from HTC or Verizon anywhere.

It's not the new Sense, unfortunately. It looks like an incremental update for Froyo, probably to address bugs.

See above. I'm suspecting it's a maintenance release. It's really going to be up to us in the community to figure out what has changed until we hear something official.
I'm done with the the necessary changes. Just testing now. Should not be much longer.
Cool. it will be interesting to see what updates / modifications have been included. Thanks for making this happen!
Would be nice if we could get the new sense by the end of the year

GladiAtrix for OLYFR_U4_1.5.2 v0.3
Deodexed the 1.5.2 SBF and repackaged everything up, including the WiFi and Market fixes. Just like Adeo, you do not need to root first.
Working on getting the reboot/recovery power options, preferred install location, and unknown sources (this now enables sideloading, though) tweaks installed. The new version adds options to root, add the tethering APN, init.d support and sideloading at the same time this installs.
This is only for AT&T phones running firmware version 1.5.2. If you have 1.2.6 please go here: GladiAtrix for 1.2.6 v1
Come chat with us!
Features:
Standard Features
Works on rooted and non-rooted devices
Deodexed
Da_G's WiFi fix
ghost_o's Market fix
Ad blocking
v0.2+ Optional Features
Root
Tethering APN
Sideloading
init.d support
Installation instructions:
Read the instructions all the way through before starting
Read them again and make sure you understand them
Download the file from the link below
Extract the files to any folder
Connect your phone with USB debugging, set USB mode to none (unsure if this is required, but I always do it to be safe)
Run INSTALL.bat
Follow the on-screen instructions for rooting, sideloading, tethering APN, and init.d support
Confirm installation of the ROM
Wait PATIENTLY for it to finish and reboot your phone
Read disclaimer below
DISCLAIMER: I've only tested this on my device. I ran it twice to be sure, once with aRoot, once without, both on fresh SBF reflash. I am not responsible if this bricks you.

There should not be any bricks resulting from this software, the creator just does not want to be held responsible for any mistakes the user may make.

I don't really see any reason why it wouldn't. You might get the default AT&T apps loaded (which can just be easily removed through the app management in settings), but I find it hard to believe the apps are that much different. I would probably hold off on it, though. If you want to get me a /system dump from a stock Bell Atrix (there might be one already I haven't really looked), I can deodex it and make a new package for it.

doesn't gingerblur already deodexes whatever SBF you have? if so, i don't see the point in this.
Anyway, if you want to enable unknown sources, just download aroot and copy the script from there, it's way easy, it's just a sql statement via sqlite to make it happen.

Yes it does, but afaik Gingerblur is optimized for 1.2.6, this is for the leaked 1.5.2 SBF. There were more than a few apps that were updated and are much smoother than the 1.4.6 apps (camera for one), so it's a nice option to have. Also, as darkamikaze mentioned, some people don't want the gingerbread theme stuff. I'm working to get this as close to a stock flash as possible, deodexed, with the basic tweaks and functionality addons that everyone can use without changing too much of the phone functionality.
Is this an update the the ones release last week (redux v.02...)? If so can i just install over the redux v.01.7?

No, the other Adeo versions are for the retail SBF (1.2.6) this is for the leaked SBF (1.5.2).

Well, I'll get to the point soon. still modifying the post. but basically the gist of it is to check ALL of motorola's update servers for updates, not just the one that comes programmed into the device. If we're lucky and we find a hidden update, we may be able to get an unlocked bootloader (or other goodies?), which will allow us to use our device as we please (new kernels, better mods, etc)
Thanks for writing this up, I've been hesitant to try it since some of the paths/files in other posts did not exist on the Bionic.

Just so everyone can see it: the update label will always be for the build ID that the zip is supposed to be installed over. That means if you've got an update:
Blur_Version.1.XT875.Verizon.en.US.zip --> This means the zip should be installed over devices running Build number "1."
Blur_Version.5.5.886.XT875.Verizon.en.US.zip --> This means the zip should be installed over devices running Build number "5.5.886."
Was anyone ballsy enough to attempt to install the update? It doesn't have a bootloader inside, but it may still be dangerous.
P3 flashed it and it does absolutely contain a bootloader update.
The critical pieces are the mbm.bin, mbmloader_hs.bin and mbmloader_ns.bin.
HS and NS refer to Hardware Secure and Non Secure parts and both are included in these updates because both types of hardware are present in the test groups or whomever is the intended recipient of these files.
There is not an unlock, per se, but both secured and unsecured mbmloaders are present and the updater script has a check for the ro.secure status and loads the appropriate file for the target device.
The D3 update and assumedly this file as well cannot be reverted to stock release version, so this file must be regarded very carefully and assessed before any decision to flash or not is made.
There is a LOT more discussion we need to have about these files and OMAP SoCs I think regarding the differences between them and the Tegra II SoCs and fuse arrays!
Edit: This breaks the djrbliss root method using the tcmd exploit. We need to look further and discuss with him other possibilities for root. Reverting has not been established yet and may brick since we dont have a complete XML.zip.
WARNING!!!! This is a very dangerous file to flash at this stage!!! Please do not rush into testing it yet!!!
Thanks to those who got the file and thanks to P3Droid for guinea pigging.
Oh and I have to add that clarified cheescake is an oxymoron...you garnish cheesecake with wonderful things!

So I decided that I just couldn't sleep not knowing if the root patch had been fixed. So I decided to flash the update.zip. And what I expected to happen, happened, it zapped the local.prop exploit.
So here I sit on the new build unrooted and stock. I'm fairly certain that if I try to revert back to the OG build I will have a paper weight on my desk until a full xml fastboot file can be found. I would suggest you all wait and don't flash this yet.

I suppose I was looking for the wrong things. On other devices, "ap20bl.img" was responsible for bringing such goodies as an unlock capability.
There is an awesome (non-root might i add) app for those who don't like your info being shared with anybody called PDroid that can be found here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357056
Among its huge feature arsenal is the ability to block app's from seeing your IMED, SIM details, sms/mms, etc. It consumes no battery life at all and is very customizable. the only downside is that you must make a patch for each device and each ROM. i took the liberty of making said patch for the Ba2tF CM7 ROM and have posted the CWM-flashable zips for your enjoyment. all you have to do is boot into CWM and flash. if for some reason you don't want your phone to be awesome you can flash the "restore" zip and the original files will be back.
I am not responsible for literally a single thing you do with these files. have fun.
If you found this helpful or just enjoyable to read the thanks button is somewhere down to the right.. but whatever you do, don't hold down shift while you press it!
UPDATE: PDroid is not yet compatible with ICS/CM9 but the dev is actively working on supporting this, so sit tight and i will update the OP when he does so.
Since it works on Ba2tf, would it also work on weekly/nightly builds?
It is very rom specific, i wouldnt use my zip for Ba2tF with that rom.

It does work just fine on Neutrino ROM which is based on the weekly builds.
I have created patches for Dorians Redpill, Ba2tf, Neutrino GT/GT+ will also be creating one for EE shortly. I will post the patches for the API for PDroid shortly.
BTW this privacy app is awesome! You just need Linux to create a API patch for your phone.
EDIT: I had to create a new post to add the attachments..... kept failing every time I tried to add here. See post below.
Below are the API patches required to run PDroid for the specific ROMs. RESTORE patch included to remove the patch if it doesn't work. lol Don't hold me responsible if they don't work or if something funky happens..... but it worked for every ROM I have tested it on.
Keep in mind you don't need to be rooted to run the app, but you need to be rooted to run the patch.
EDIT: Also remember if your ROM ever gets updated odds are you will have to create a new patch for the newest version.
I got a PM from the dev today who had some good news.. Previously the patch maker was only available for Linux..
The good news is that you now can make a patch for your ROM yourself. Check out the PDroid patcher for Windows in the PDroid thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19570091. Or download it directly: http://goo.gl/oztqS.

I have been using LBE Privacy Guard, which revokes these permissions and more on an app-by-app basis. It's not ROM specific but a little time-consuming setting up rules for each app.

My update will have the tweak and the app integrated
I can't thank you enough for the patch n1ckr0th. I've been using droidwall and an app called permissions to stop other apps from sending my data out. Now it's up to me who sees my real data. I understand that a lot of companies make their livings on advertisements and the like, but why do they have to know about and acquire my personal data for me to play a game or run a process that allows me to work more effectively. It's issues like this that make me want to learn how to code for android and write some great apps that won't steal everything on your device that it can see. Hmm, actually that's a good idea. Thanks again.
B.B.
Has anybody taken a look at the new official JB release that popped up at http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_maserati/list.php ? (Although, I can't access it currently)
It's been mentioned on another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277830 ) regarding the ability to root, but it doesn't look like it's been looked at in any depth whether it includes any fixes, etc. The build date has changed to the 5th April, and the version is 9.8.20-72_VZW-18-2.
Cheers,
Steve.

You could be right regarding the location, apologies if people object - I just thought the ROM guys would probably be the ones most likely to be all over it.
File Mirror
FWIW - I found that droid-developers.org seemed a little hit and miss, so I've set up a private file mirror for this new release. If somebody wants access to it, then just PM me. I'm trying to sort out a public mirror too, and will update this post when/if I get that sorted out.
Cheers,
Steve,
I am uploading cdma_maserati/cdma_maserati_9.8.2O-72_VZW-18-2_1ff.xml.zip
to my http://d-h.st/users/sd_shadow/?fld_id=12041#files
via remote url upload, usually doesn't take very long, quite a bit faster than uploading from my pc
This same version upgrade for XT926 HD appeared and was said to be a bugfix for the 4.1.2 OTA and that another more significant update would appear shortly for all devices but still remain 4.1.2 and would include Isis.
So we should expect to see a couple of OTAs pushed out on accelerated schedule that will match this XML file and the subsequent update.

Nice one - I'm currently 66% of the way through uploading to FileDropper (which I've never used before, but it was free, and didn't require sign up).

So is the "more significant update" meant to be coming after this April 5th release?
Cheers,
Steve.
It's safe for now...

Yes, and I just flashed the boot, system and radio images from the MR2 XML and then rerooted using razr_blade.
So, we are safe to use this file to upgrade the firmware without any loss of root or any other issues.
The secure version did not increment so it is also possible to revert to the prior -18 release without risk of soft bricking.
This follows the pattern of the update for the HD and will likely be the same for the other devices that just recieved 4.1.2 in this cycle.
The next update is the one the will include ISIS and may also have security enhancements that will need to be carefully scrutinized.
That is conjecture on my part, at this stage, we don't know.
It would be nice to know what changes the release addresses. My hope is that it sorts out the hardware keyboard problem of unsticky shift keys in some applications.
Cheers,
Steve

Big Thanks to Illogic6 for being the Very 1st Person to get Touchwiz Booted to the I9505G post #31 and SamuriHL for solving the Baseband Update Issue and Chainfire
Modem Update : Due to the secure boot loader we cannot flash modems via cwm or any other custom recovery. You MUST update your firmware via Odin
Touchwiz Works with some ROM's like BareBones from the I9505 forum being successfully booted on the I9505G. TW Development is ongoing for the I9505G but with the small partition size some issues exist, and are being researched and worked out.

07/21/2014: I just wanted to make a note that I still get emails and requests for help and although I am no longer doing any sort of work on the I9505G I will try to help you out if you PM me. PLEASE BIG THANK YOU TO @SamuraiHL he is really the one maintaining everything for I9505G Owners and if you have not thanked him please do. Actually without volunteering him he is your best POC for anything current. I will maintain the thread for organization now and then. ALOHA

Right now just standard kitchen tweaks on 4.3 but I am trying to get the whole device mount points set up in Cygwin and I'm having trouble because when I extract everything and open up the recovery.fstab file with notepad ++ it does not show anything but 0p1 nothing for system, boot & data so I'm lost and need help

One person you might contact is mohan_kr. He has come over to the S4 from the Skyrocket recently. Excellent at working on the ROM's. Sorry I can not be of assistance, but I am not very advanced on Android.

That's what this thread is for though for everyone to get together share information and collaborate.
Chahk's post about mount points and getting other CM/AOSP ROMs working on I9505G deserves its own link:

I've found that very useful. Been able to get every AOSP/CM based ROM to boot by editing the updater-script to match the correct partition.
Has anybody noticed that photos taken with the front facing camera on CM sometimes have green distortion? That was the only bug I've found. Unfortunately, that flared up my phone OCD enough to go back to the 4.3 leak.
Thanks for putting this thread together, OP!

Your Welcome. So I read on the other thread and I know myself and others are looking at how we can port other ROMs specifically touchwiz over to the G the partition as you know is an issue but I think with collaboration can be solved soon.
Keep it coming let's solve problems!

I took a TW ROM and edited the script for our devices. It boots, but the display never kicks on. You get the boot animation sound and it even mounts the storage on my computer.

Wow that's great maybe you can help me with my script it sounds like your further along than some. I wonder what would cause the display bug doesn't sound like a boot issue

Here's the ROM I was messing with. I used the "old firmware" because it was the newest one when I first looked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349369
I've attached my modded updater script. (You will have to remove the .txt extension. Wouldn't let me upload without it.) All I had to do was edit which /dev/block the script mounts before it copies stuff over. If I recall correctly, I only had to change the dev it flashes the boot.img to. See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43843048&postcount=30

I think this might be fixed in the newest CM nightly. I've took about 20 selfies with the front facing camera and haven't had distortion at all. Before I'd get it every 3 or 4 photos.
Edit: Disregard the above. The problem is back, but I'm thinking it might be the 4.3 camera zip I've been using. Hmmmmmmm......
I think I jumped the gun a bit on rooting my I9505G right when I got it. I've never successfully rooted it, but I managed to get on the 4.3 ROM with a few quirks here and there. My ultimate goal is to get Paranoid Android with halo running, but I'll have to dedicate a day to the whole process. I'll be keeping track of this thread.

I haven't used Cygwin before. I'll take a look at it today.
Also going to mess around with TW a little more. Maybe we just need some libs from the stock 9505g rom or something.
Update: I'm afraid I may have mislead you earlier. It appears that you need more than just the updated update-script in order to get touchwiz to boot. You also need a kernel from one of the 4.3 leaks. Here's the one I've been using. (Attached) Not only does it boot, but the soft keys work and you can hear the sound effects of the lock screen. I'm very close.

Wow Illogic your close bro thanks for your hard work the libs does sound like it would cause the display problem I'm gonna play around with this too. All I did was unpack stock 4.3 and zip and deo the files with root. The problem I am having is that I am still learning U-scripts and so I cannot get anything to flash. I get failed on 0p21 even though its changed. Maybe I can pm you what I did later and get your feedback cuz your miles ahead of me
Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk 2
I've merged libs from the leaked 4.3 build into the TW ROM without overwriting anything. Didn't seem to change anything. At this point, I'm playing with magic I don't understand so not sure how much farther I'm going to get.
Would really like figure out which files in the system are responsible for the display. Perhaps we need to overwrite those files. Google is failing me so far.
---------- Post added at 04:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:29 PM ----------
Tada! :victory:
The error message goes away. Right now, the web browser force closes... that might be because of the ROM I was modifying. What I did was use the 4.2.2 kernel that shipped with the google play phones. That booted AND activated the display.
