I found that handbrake is the best free app for converting video files. You can use the stock player.

On piratebay search for video converter pro. When you get it, find a movie... (same place... shhh) and convert it to a high quality iPhone. Make sure you click on high quality.

I use DVDFab - I use the iPhone settings, but change the output resolution so it is either 480 tall or 800 wide - that way i get maximum movie size.
I bought DVDfab as it is an awesome piece of software with many updates....
I hope they ban the kid pushing warez.
I think its in general, but design gears wrote a step by step guide on using handbrake. If you click on him in the dev section and go to threads started by this person, you can find it that way.

How do I get movies that I have downloaded from iTunes onto my phone. I searched google but there is no "easy" method for this, so I thought I would go to all my buddies here on xda.
Is there a simple app that can do this task? Thanks
I have yet to try to view a movie on my phone from any source, but I always used Any Video Converter for my PSP back in the day. But I don't know if that will work.
***EDIT*** Okay I'm trying "Any Video Converter" now lol
I thought you were saying any "video converter"

Hi everyone. I am looking for the app tubedroid. I had it once and since I rooted the app that I saved doesn't work anymore. For those of you that don't know what tubedroid is, you can download any video from youtube to your sdcard. Any help would be great.
I'm assuming it had something to do with it being illegal since downloading from youtube is forbidden.

can't see why downloading from youtube is illegal. I can send it to facebook, and you can download stuff to your desktop. Im not trying to sell it to make a profit, want less hassel when I want to watch my favorite music video.
It's against youtube tos probably.
I dont claim to know the ins/outs of youtubes tos... but how do apps like videodownloader get away with direct dl's from YouTube?

Ok illegal is probably not the right word, but it is against google policies so they will pull any app that does it from the market.

If it is illegal to download it then it's illegal to watch it. You cannot watch it without downloading it. They may want to stop you from saving it but they can't stop you from downloading it without raking the video down. The same is true on the streaming music services. Take a look at Grooveshark's EULA. It's very well written in that regard.

I used to have a Vibrant and backed The two movie files and wondered if there was a way to play this DRMed movie on the Fascinate (shame we didn't get anything extra like a movie on this version considering it's not 16GB)
I'm able to use media hub ripped from another Galaxy S device, just wondering is maybe the avatar APK or another file can make this play. The movie is the perfect size & quality to show how impressive the Super Amoled screen is with the headphones 5.1 sound.
Did you get media hub to work completely? I have it, but whenever I try to enter "My Media" it FC's on me.
Sorry that I have a question rather than an answer for you.
I already tried to get avatar from my buddy's vibrant. The file is in .dcf which is basically a format to prevent reproduction. I tried turning into .apk and unzipping and even tried to find a file conversion...no luck. It wasn't like transformers on the HD2, those movies you could just drag and drop in any folder or sd card. T-Mobile got a little bit wiser. But no I can't get avatar to work on any other galaxy s variant. Can't even play it on the desktop.
Weird. I have a BRRip of Avatar of my fascinate that I use to show everyone the screen quality. It was a drag and drop process.
I can do that, the point is using the one from Samsung. On the DX it will give a drm error. Just wondered since this is a fascinate

- i used 160kbps audio.... not realy needed that high of quality but i like it that hi.
- single file - yes
produced an amazing copy of avatar sitting at about 2.2 GB
on that note, what are some other suggestions as to awesome visual movies such as avatar. i like having beautiful movies to show off my fone! lol.

exactly. for most people DRM creates a problem, it doesn't solve it. The harder something you own is to legally use, the more likely you are to resort to piracy. why don't companies get that?

Great not I'm going to have nightmares tonight!
Im going crazy!
I am a big fan of US tv series and would love the Dexter app that Showtime give out for free. The problem is its region restricted and I cannot download the apk.
Same is true of the AMC and HBO general show apps!
So damn annoying! These are free apps but you have to be in the us to download them.
Would any kind American out there be able to host these files so I can download them?
I will be extremely grateful
Someone here could probably put them on multiupload.com......
If you could make a list of the apps you would like, I could try to get them for you
Fantastic
The free apps I would love are:-
http://www.appbrain.com/app/dexter/com.showtime.dexter
http://www.appbrain.com/app/hbo/com.hbo.android.activity
http://www.appbrain.com/app/amc-mobile/com.amctv.mobile
They are all region controlled so only available to the US for download.
So annoying!
If someone could put this on host with multiupload or whatever that would be perfect and really appreciated

Here you go buddy, hope they work:
Download
They probably would try to check for location even on starting.
A workaround is to use fake location apps. from the Market. Once you set the fake US location you can download and stream from any country.
Sorry to hijack but is there a way to watch shows like True Blood and Dexter without having a subscription to HBO or Showtime?
The best and legal way to do it is to stream it. There is an android app called amo Navi-x that will do that for you. On your computer you can use XBMC or Boxee with the respective Navi-x app.
Jgaf!
A million thanks to you sir!
Strangely the HBO app wont work on my Nook but it works on my phone. Apart from that all great.
Really appreciate your help there )
As for seeing the shows, personally I download them ^
They do show on Norwegian tv but always much later than in the US and I prefer watching them at a time that suits me also.
I have a media box that plays every media format and watch them in HD from that on my big screen.

I got the app and downloaded an episode of True Blood but it doesn't play well with Mobo. The audio isn't sync'd with the video and it only plays for about a minute and then cuts off. Bummer.
I use my Nook as a player for videos and have no issues with mp4 720p videos.

It gets illegal whe you share the file, meaning when you uploaded it or are sharing (i.e. torrents). Watching a streaming video is legal, the only one breaking the law is the person who uploaded and maybe the server owner where it is.

Why is it a joke...... Spotify charges the exact same amount for mobile devices.
If Google can get the deals in place and match their library, there is no joke about it, especially if you get in early on for the $7.99 price.

It's 7.99 a month if you sign up for the free trial before mid-june I think? http://www.androidcentral.com/google-play-music-all-access-unveiled
I'm a long-time Rhapsody user, but I've got to say, being able to combine the music I already have or have purchased with a subscription service is awfully convenient. On the other hand, only being able to use it on the web/my phone instead of also on my xbox for living room listening is less wonderful.

Yea I signed up for it because it would be nice as you said for streaming plus songs I already have. But with so many companies offering music services it's going to be hard to have a single solution across all platforms. With this and my xbox/win8 set up I'm pretty much covered.

i really want to subscribe to this but im outside US any ideas how i can achieve this?
I've been on Spotify for over a year, tried MOG, Rdio, everything. So far this has the best interface, with more music in some respects, with notification bar controls, and landscape mode, for 7.99. Great job Google! Just won me
I ditched MOG for All Access. I don't use all of its expanded features, but it does exactly what I need it to do.
I've not previously subscribed to a music service, couple of questions some of you may be able to answer... I have some guesses. Let me know if there are other use cases:
[Q-1] Why is there an option to still upload my music library when I've already purchased all access? I can play anything I want already, on demand or radio-like.
[GUESS-1] Is this to upload music I write, or music that's not licensed through the service (like a certain artist I want is missing, or not commercial yet)? Anything else? Should I "upload" music that I own that is available for streaming play? Will that impact anything like the quality? I'm guessing not, and I'm hoping if it detects a match it won't waste my 20,000 song space, or bother shoving up data it already has a better copy of.
[Q-2] Why can we still "buy" songs when we're all access? I can already play anything Google has. Why are you showing me this? I have seen a few comments (while searching for these answers) of people actually saying they wish their $7.99/mo. subscription came with 10 free songs... Why? That doesn't seem logical.
[GUESS-2] So I can still play it if I drop the subscription?

1) It's a holdover from when Google Music was upload/purchase only and didn't have a streaming option. I already had most of my albums uploaded to GMusic for streaming purposes. Now, though, I guess it's only if you want to upload stuff that isn't in Google's catalog.
2) For when you unsubscribe.

You can't download all access music on your pc, just purchased tracks or your own. Also, Google doesn't have licenses for every label and every artist/album. Uploading your own supplements this. I also suspect their purchase library is larger than all access streaming but I can't confirm this, just guessing.

It's there, you sure you are not looking hard enough?
I checked on my Galaxy S4 and Nexus 10, it's there under the settings. And I am willing to bet if it is one my Nexus 10, it should be on your Nexus 4.
The one thing I LOVE about Google Music/All Access is that it displays the song playing on my car's radio, Spotify doesn't. Spotify is also finnicky with headset controls...sometimes when I hit play the stock Android players kicks on.
But what I do give Spotify props for are the nice little features - the desktop program is really easy to use, easy to create and modify your playlists, easy to see what's new and trending, and I really use the Popularity feature a lot. Also the app has crossfading, which is a little but awesome feature, it's also an easier interface.
I'm really on the fence with this one.
