Droid X Full SBF release - Droid X Android Development

initial from story DROID LIFE.com thanks kellex
forgot to mention this is for 2.2
http://rootzwiki.com/

So now that w ehave the 2.2 SBF, is it pretty much safe for us on 2.2 OTA to use the custom ROM's on here (w/ Koush's bootstrap)?

OP, actually, it was RELEASED in this very foum. MODs killed it this morning. Guess they were afraid of the C & D. If you were on here about midnight EST last night..... you had it before it even hit the tor's

Cool, thanks. And yeah I downloaded it earlier just to have it (did the same thing with the 2.1 SBF, so i should be pretty set).

so will this allow a direct upgrade from the 2.2 leak to the 2.2 official?

I'm still seeding if anyone cares.

It will"flash" your phone to the ota with the new kernel, baseband etc. So yes to answer ur question. This is the same utility file used by "technicians" in store to recover or reset devices. Our equivalent of a ruu I guess. Be sure you have the latest rds lite 4.8 I think. Also make sure ur drivers are up to date.

I'll reply to your message when i get home. Out and about at the moment.

It works
I used this earlier today after I started getting some force closes when I used the battery manager and other odd behavior after I rooted. Once it did what it needed to I did a factory reset and now I'm back to factory and the battery stats fc issue is fixed.

I would give the Battery Stats FC issue some time before you say it's fixed. It's a known issue with the OTA and Moto acknowledged it so sorry to burst your bubble, but it'll come back. It's off and on and seems random.

Nice leak. Now Dx development can proceed in earnest. I needed this badly. Seeding now...

Agree with avlfive... I can basically toggle the Battery STats FC by rebooting my phone.
Moto has acknolwedged it, like he said, and has given NO timetable on a fix. They just say it's slated for a "future release"

Mirror
In roughly 15 minutes, the sbf will be available for download at http://rdp.yagoolio.info/downloads

Mirror for Droid x sbf
http://rdp.yagoolio.info/downloads/droidx/VRZ_MB810_2.3.15_1FF_01.zip
http://rdp.yagoolio.info/downloads/droidx/rsdlite_4.8.zip
These are hosted on my dedicated server.

so mif im on 2.2 this want brick my phone correct?

this one will not brick a 2.2 phone. it will flash droid x to latest 2.2 release from moto/vzw

Dumb question...if Im already rooted then im still gonna be rooted when I install this right? Im running 2.2 of course. Version 2.3.9

lagtest.apk 30-60-60 fps is there a fix????

Hi I´m sure most of you are aware of this problem, the unstable fps after 2.1 update I installed the dexter froyo rom hoping i would finally be able to fix this issue but to my surprise the problem remains.
I´m aware that changing the governor on set cpu from on demand to performance it helps a bit but i still see the stuttering playing mostly emulators !
I´m running at 800 mhz and I still have drops from 60 to 40 fps constantly.
Is there a fix for this that i´m not aware of ?
Pls help !
Motorola is aware of the problem. I think, it's a kernel related thing, but i don't know exactly. The fact, that the framerate dropped, is known so far:
There's also a thread at motorola discussion boards:
http://community.developer.motorola...-Milestone-2-1BUG-major-2D-slowdown/td-p/5719
So, the thing is known. And it was promised to be fixed with froyo. but it seems not to be fixed i don't get any solution for now. i'm searching a few days also now.
yeah i was aware of that post and the being investigated situation by motorola ..... motorola europe does a lot of research but real work not really ...
the new update of 2.1 that is currently rolling out fixes this problem??????

Thats because we can only use the 2.1 Kernel at the moment.
I´d rather use the 2.01 since i could play most emulators perfect ....
Is there any way to downgrade it using open recovery ?

you may downgrade your phone to 2.0.1 flashing a full sbf file from here (e.g.)
http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone
remember to use a FULL sbf not a service sbf.
I tried it yesterday and my 2.0.1 milestone gives me at stock 60 FPS with fps2d!!! dexter's frenzy is not fixing this problem

bad link? (10 chars)
The link is not broken, works fine for me
Another link to Google Code: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=7520 i've bumped the thread. perhaps, someone can tell us, what has been changed to fix the 30 FPS issue and i HOPE this is not a motorola kernel fix (some module changes) - cause 2.0.1 and 2.1 use both 2.6.29 kernel.
EDIT: @silico: no, it should not pend on the kernel. i just flashed my milestone with 2.0.1 and after flashing that fresh full sbf (with 2.0.1 kernel) i restored nandroid frenzy v 0.5 (which is not changing the kernel at all) and ran into the same problem: after restoring dexter's frenzy, the framerate dropped again to 30 FPS on stock clock!
here is a patch library which might work fine on regular stock firmwares too, but its not tested much..but results are 60fps+ now even on 550mhz
update-script fixed

They use the same kernel ? Where did you saw that?
I´m using the GOt´s modified sbf for uk and the problem remains !
If I downgrade the sbf to 2.01 i gain the stability for the 60 fps but what are the disavantages of using 2.01 ?
And you also say after using 2.01 sbf and recovering moto frenzy image you went back to 30 fps, so where is the problem in the kernel or in the image ?????
If you are using motofrenzy image now if you downgrade to 2.01 after the image is already in use the problem remains???
Thanks dexter for the reply ! Are u gonna include that on your image soon?
How do I apply it? to a stock image can anyone help me?

just use "apply update" or you copy the lib yourself directly into the /system/lib/hw folder manually.. (gralloc.omap3.so is the name of the file)
the first update-nosign.zip was messed up, please make sure you have the last one i uploaded now..

I´ve just applied it it didnt´t worked.
the problem persists and it messed up my graphics !
I´ve just loaded your image and applied this update it messed up my graphics exactly the same way !!!
Its like i´m seeing artifacts.
I copied it manually to my phone with 2.1u1 and it fixed the 2d slowdown problem but it does mess up the main GUI, the emulated games run perfect though, only emulator menus have the same problems the main GUI has, ingame they are perfect!
Super smooth like in 2.0.1 but able to overclock
okay. the lib from dexter is from droid 2 and it seems, there are some sync problems. this causes the glitches on the screen. yes, 60FPS are back, but which price?
so i started a thread in cyanogen forum, asking for the libs from CM 6 RC3 to be used to crack that 30 FPS cap.
I tried the libs from the CM6RC3 and that does not solve the issue
Anyway lets wait and see what happens.
We are a bit closer already, I can play my emulators at full speed

which libs did you try? i already tried only changing gralloc.omap3.so, but same result, as yours. i wonder, how cyanogen fixed that cap ...
I tried gralloc.omap3.so and gralloc.default.so but that got me the low fp/s again...
Strange that they fixed it in another way then...
Would it be possible to use gralloc.omap3.so from a milestone 2.01 rom. The bug was also pressent in 2.0. But they fixed it in 2,01. Maybe they just accidently used the bad libs again in 2.1.
If i use the files from my 2.0.1 release it wont boot anymore...

- libpixelflinger.so
- libpvrANDROID_WSEGL.so
- libskia.so
- libskiagl.so
- libsurfaceflinger.so
and from egl:
- libGLES_android.so
same: stuck at motorola bootlogo
done for today ... too much nandroid restores

[OTA LEAKS] DROID 3 (XT862) 5.7.902 AND 5.7.905 Updates from QA Server

Hello!
These are updates going for DROID 3 owners on the Verizon Wireless network. The 5.7.902 and 905 update does include a kernel, BP and bootloader update.
This update is known to quite a few but was not actually released fully due to the fact that it was not rootable and cannot be FXZ flashed back to 5.6.890.
This changed on February 11, as Hashcode rose up and said using the D4 root exploit can root this update. This was correct, I have used the exploit to root the 5.7.902 update. A lot have risen to say both the 5.7.902 and 5.7.905 update are rootable using the exploit below.
Disclaimer: It is your choice to update your phone to this, not mine. If in any way do anything happen to your phone that never happened before, you are responsible. I am not responsible for anything that happens, ill effects or not, to the phone.
**OTA ROOTKEEPERS DO NOT WORK, PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION**
THERE IS NO WAY BACK TO STOCK.
AFTER SEEING REPEATED PROBLEMS, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU FLASH THIS UPDATE WHILE ON A STOCK 5.6.890 OR OTHER UPDATE.
DO NOT FLASH OVER AN ICS ROM OR ANY ROM. IF YOU HAVE PERFORMED THE TBH DROID 3 RADIO HACK YOU ARE RECOMMENDED TO NOT INSTALL ANY LEAKS.

5.7.905 Download Link -- http://bit.ly/y1GnCr
You may download the 5.7.902 update (223.6 MB) or you can download the 5.7.905 (224.9 MB) from above.

thanks again!
clarification please
I've seen this OTA update posted elsewhere a week ago. I want to try it, but don't want to get stuck again in a dead-end OTA update leak.
So just to clarify - because this leak is now root-able, this means we can fxz back to 5.6.890?
I've seen theres a 5.7.905 update out now from the Production Servers will this be available?
mavrom 3.0 already uses the files from this OTA

This wont put ya in a dead-end area of OTA updates unless the update coming in a few weeks is different.
KEEP IN MIND: The ONLY way to get back to stock 5.6.890 is to flash a rom based on 5.6.890, or 5.7.894. (Hashcode's ICS, Steel Droid 4.5, etc..)

You can access m+power regardless of what OTA/ROM you flash?

Ok then, I have a question. You can see I posted a thread earlier using another method from LifeHacker, how do I go about getting this one instead?
i posted a link to a youtube video how-to
Guess this only works for deodexed roms or deodexed versions of stock ics roms?
Worked great. Rooted Stock OTA ICS on Droid 4. However, it says there is an update available, and play store will not install it.
Any idea how to get it?
EDIT: Ok, Most of it worked great, right up until I tried to use my blutooth headset to initiate a call. The voice recognition here was all messed up. Nothing I tried worked, and I tried for 3 days to get a solution. Because I use this function so often, I had to remove this and go back to the standard ICS search. Also noticed it was a serious battery drain. Unfortunate. I really liked it.

Soak Test?

Just got an e-mail from Moto asking if I wanted to take part in software testing. Guessing this is for the JB soak test. The quiz monkey site is telling me that my MEID number is wrong (It isn't) and I remember from the ICS soak test, they'll want me to give up root. I'm already running ICS, CM JB and the Liquid Smooth JB, so they may not want me to participate.
But it's coming

I had to enter the IMEI. I went back to stock and unrooted and removed Safestrap so we'll see.

I got this as well. Same issue with entering the MEID. Said it needed to be 15 characters even though the MEID is 14. I ended up just sticking a 0 in front of it. If it WAS looking for an IMEI instead of the MEID I guess I won't be getting it. LOL I'll just have to wait for one of you helpful people to post it up here when you get it.
You really don't need to unroot as the update will overwrite it and technically remove it anyway....
You do have to be on stock recovery and have made no changes to any of the files in the /system folder.
You can be rooted, have apps frozen via Titanium Backup, etc.....the update will just unroot you and unfreeze those apps.
It's good news that the Soak Test may have started - do we know what the normal schedule is between the Soak Test starting, and the release actually happening?
Cheers,
Steve.
The Razrs had the official OTA approved within about a day or less of the soak being pushed out. Ridiculously fast.

while that may be true, that's not the kind of test data they are prioritizing. i for one, will be a good little test monkey. I've done backups of everything and i'm going back to 100% stock. i figure if you just want the new shinies, then wait until someone rips the OTA update and posts it. if you actually want to help test it, then you should test it under the conditions they request.
I've been in all the Droid 3 and Droid 4 SOAK test as well as most of them for the Xoom Wi-Fi.....
A rooted device will be unrooted after the SOAK (OTA) is installed. So far as well....every SOAK pushout has become the OTA pushout.
They really just want a wide diverse selection of users and device setups (rooted or not, stock, different app installs, etc...) to see how well the pushout of the update works. Reporting on issues or reporting no issues is better results for Motorola than being a stock device that gets an update they've tested in house already.
The big issue is having a stock /system as it checks for and updates, replaces or deletes specific files (name/size/signature).

Safestrap v 3.thelatest.
16 gig class 10 SD card (couldn't find a 32 gig at 3am)
Stock-ICS
Rom Slot 1-CM
Rom Slot 2- Liquid Smooth (my daily driver)
Set the partitions to 1GB and you'll have room to install them.
TBH, I'm probably going to drop ICS and CM once LS has their hands on the OTA JB.

Thanks for the reply. I must have set my partition size to something higher - time for some partition shuffling, but with JB dropping soon maybe I won't lose a lot of sleep over it... :good:
You can make a backup of the rom slot, then delete it, create a new smaller one, and restore the backup.
People have been receiving emails about the soak test and that's pretty awesome. But has the test actually started? Does anyone actually have the jelly bean update yet, or are they waiting for enough people to say yes before they start sending out the updates.
Because I'm a little surprised that no one has posted the update yet. Or can you not pull the soak test updates?
I haven't got the invite to the private forums section... so I'm guessing it hasn't yet started....

New to Atrix HD, Please guide

Hi there,
Ok so I just bought this device in dirt cheap. Its Atrix HD MB886 AT&T running on stock 4.1.1
So I have a couple of problems with this device. For the past few weeks I have been running it on completely stock rom, however I've rooted and unlocked the bootloader. It lags a lot. From homescreen if you just swipe to the left to go in quick settings menu it stutters a bit. It stutters sometimes in the app drawer as well. Someone told me that its stock launcher is laggy so I installed Nova Launcher and it was fine for a week or so then same things started to happen. I've just installed apps like facebook messenger, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, Viber and 1 or 2 very light games and my free ram is around 100mb. I've factory resetted the phone countless times and regularly clear the system cache but the problem still persists. So my question is, If I install custom roms on this device will my experience get any better or will it be the same. Thanks please reply
Have you debloated it?

Short answer: Yes, your experience will definitely get better.
But realize that you're living on the edge and there may be random things that may/not work, so you need to get involved with the forums to troubleshoot errors, or wait it out and hope that later versions fix your problems. I'm running a recent building of CM11 with no issues. Battery isn't quite as good as stock, but overall I'm happy with it. Very snappy, no lag, and lots of customization. Enjoy.

No I haven't. I will eventually get rid of bloatware but I wanted to try the phone with it.

Thanks. Can you link me which rom you're using? There are so many roms here and I'm kinda confused which one to go for.

It's in my sig. Currently using Epinter's build of CM11, specifically because it works with the older JB bootloaders (like on the Atrix HD). When this phone officially gets KitKat from Motorola, we won't need the special build anymore, and can just go back to using any msm8960 unified ROM.
I would recommend you to use CM 10.2....it is stupidly awesome and it has the best battery life ever..
Please help Me.

Do you have an unlocked bootloader? If not, you cannot flash stock ICS if your phone has stock JB. With an unlocked bootloader, you can install stock ICS.
You are getting the error because you didn't edit or properly edit the XML file in the ROM.
