I placed that file in the same directory as the other and when I click the exe the screen goes black with no option to click run. It displays "unable to open log tiny_console_int done. Cannot open script file \storage\program\files\haret\linux.ha"
Ok now I have the red dot going back and fourth. It seems to freeze after awhile. Looking over the default.txt you put up I noticed that you forgot a quotation mark and I added the word "boot" at the bottom since I see others have that in there default.txt file.
default.txt file looks like this below:

Hi everyone, I searched a lot on this forum and others and I couldn't find an answer to my problem (or even if my problem is a big deal). I flashed Assonance with the include kernel, my first ROM flash =-) and I did a lot of research before I did it and decided to backup my Android ID...which I did, BUT I only wrote down the number and now when I enter it into "Android ID Changer v1.5" I click "Change ID" and it automatically reboots but does NOT change my ID...yes I have busy box and super user access. Can anybody help me? Is this even a big deal?
on the root of your SD card, create a file name udpate.id (yes, udpate, it's a typo, but that's what the startup script reads) and put only your android id in it. then restart your phone and check if the idea has changed. also it's not that big of a deal, but the problem with these custom roms is that everyone on the same rom ends up with the same android id (i think?) which causes us to queue up for downloads on the market instead of downloading instantly.

[Q] "Installation error - insufficient storage available" when installing skype
Hello Everybody,
this is my first post on this forum, i decided to start this thread cause i've been struggling with this problem for something like one month now, i really want to fix it, and this looks like the best place where to ask for help.
I'm having problems installing the Skype application on a Samsung Galaxy S, in Italy.
Initially i installed it from the market, the installation went fine, but i couldn't log in cause i was still running Android 2.1
After the upgrade to 2.2, Skype worked only the first time i tried to use it, then it started giving me a weird bug; basically each time i tried to make a call, it would say "already 2 ongoing calls".
I uninstalled it, and now each time i try to install it again i get the same error message "Installation error - insufficient storage available".
I have 5.22GB available on the internal SD card, and 573MB on the internal phone storage, and i have no external SD card.
I tried to contact the Skype support, sent them something like 10 different emails, but each time they came up with stupid answers and in the end they couldn't find a solution, so they said
"Please note that the message you are receiving is an operating system message and is not a Skype message.
We suggest that you contact Samsung to find out under which circumstances the operating system returns this message and what can be done to make an installation possible."
I tried to contact Samsung, but they didn't even reply.
I started a thread in the Android Market Help Forum and one guy suggested to use adb to delete the skype folder
So i rooted my device with z4root and also did the OneClickLagFix V2.2+
I managed to install the Android SDK and get the adb up and running, but when i try to delete the skype folder, this is what i get
# rm -R /data/com.skype.raider
rm -R /data/com.skype.raider
rm failed for /data/com.skype.raider, No such file or directory
#
basically there is no such folder..
at this point i really don't know what to do, and i hope that someone here is able and willing to help me.
I think i gave all the possibly needed information to help you fixing my problem, but if you need more please just ask.
Thanks a lot and by the way big up to this forum, so many useful informations in here!
Cheers
Pedro
update
i installed Titanium Backup
if i go to the Backup/Restore tab and scroll to the very botton, the last one is com.skype.raider, but it has a line on it and i'm not sure what that means (see attached image)
if i click it, all the options are grayed out, so i can't uninstall it..
if i click and hold, a different menu comes up, where most of the options are grayed out as well, i can only do Assign Labels, Explore and View in Market.
If i click Explore, it says:
com.skype.raider
files/
shared.lck 0B
defetto/
main.db-journal 8.0KB
any idea what's going on? thanks in advance
Never mind, i made it!
I bought an application from the market called Root Explorer, i couldnt find a free one doing the same, basically giving full access to my folder structure.
Anyway, i was able to find the com.skype.raider folder and delete it..
after that, next install went fine!
the correct path was /data/data/com.skype.raider
so if you have the same problem, you can use abd and delete the folder and you don't need to buy the above mentioned app..
p.s. how do i set this thread as answered?
Had a similar problem! I couldn't downlaod anything from the market. Unmounting the sdcard has fixed the issue. Thx http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Could someone to develop INTERNAL xap installer program [ homebrew] that
will be able to install xap inside phone ?
Thanks.
the os already has its own framework for that so no point, the installation of non signed apps is discussed loads on the forum. An app is avail called chevron to achieve it, unless you have updated your phone it should still work
I have investigated this. No luck so far. But I have a couple of leads that may let me make it. But it needs more research. I will have a look at it soon. But I can't give an ETA. So far I know there are no others that have succeeded so far.
Ciao,

This will be key for cydia/installius kind apps for WP7

No. Microsoft doesn't want you to sideload apps. They want you to use the Marketplace. If you would be able to use an internal xap installer, you would be using it for sideloading.
It is not possible to use the API's for installing XAP's because you need TCB access for that. Normal apps have only LPC access, so normally you can't create an app for that. Needs hacking.
Ciao,
Heathcliff74
Would this type of access be possible with the 'DLLImport Project'?
So today i installed a random app from marketplace to see what was going on i the process-list. Here i saw "PacmanInstaller.exe" (after "Downloading..." > "Installing..."); later i tried to remote execute that one without any important args, and it said "This application can not run in Win32 mode.", eh? Didn't that exe just ran in the process list. Seems weird not to be able to launch that one. (it did not say the exe did not exist).
Tested another thing to, what happens when i deploy an app from Visual Studio??
>PacmanInstaller.exe shows up there too.?!?!?
THEN WTF, WHERE IS THE DRM?
Found this in "PacmanInstaller.c":
if ( v19 != v2 )
*(_DWORD *)(v17 + 4 * v18 - 4) = L"ID_CAP_DEBUG";
XAP > Phone side:
- IO Explorer, all files have the exact same byte size, no magic changes added "ID_CAP_DEBUG""
- No "WMAppPRHeader.xml" added (generated/downloaded)
__
This means its just copying it to phone (XAP).
Runs pacman to register app > \Applications\Install\GUID\Install
"PacmanInstaller.exe GUID" ??
>Cant execute remote PacmanInstaller? From within?
Just having fun, thanks

Nope. DllImport project is about accessing native API's. Not really about elevating privileges (so far). The package manager API's are native API's, but they require elevated privileges too. For having higher privileges you need to hack the system...

"This application can not run in Win32 mode" is error 0xbf:
Error 0xbf: error_invalid_exe_signature
Description: Cannot run <application> in Windows NT mode
Or: Cannot run <application> in Win32 mode
This means that your executable is not properly signed / elevated to launch into the required account.

C'mon fiinix! You of all people should know!!
Code:
<!-- Rule loaded from: \IMGFS\969eb155-55ff-4884-9ecb-241c8a4b6e09.policy.xml(405,6) -->
<Rule PriorityCategoryId="PRIORITY_STANDARD" ResourceIri="/LOADERVERIFIER/ACCOUNT/(+)/ACCOUNT_CAN_LAUNCH/NONE/NONE/PRIMARY/WINDOWS/PACMANINSTALLER.EXE" SpeakerAccountId="S-1-5-112-0-0-1" Description="Only TCB can launch into this chamber">
<!-- Authorize loaded from: \IMGFS\969eb155-55ff-4884-9ecb-241c8a4b6e09.policy.xml(406,10) -->

<Match AccountId="S-1-5-112-0-0XFF" />
</Stop>
</Rule>
That's why you can't run it! So, not the right account to launch. Not even when you use the Samsung exploit. Because that uses "Elevated". Not "TCB".
The proper way to call PacmanInstaller.exe is:
Code:
pacmaninstaller.exe <int> <guid>
I'm not really sure, but the <int> is the type of operation. Possible values are between 1 and 7 if I recall correctly. The guid is the applicationid. So far I know, the PacmanInstaller looks in \Application Data\Phone Tools\10.0\Install. That is where the xap's are initially uploaded to the phone and extracted by the packagemanger.
Ciao,
Heathcliff74
PS. New version of WP7 Root Tools coming up....
"Not even when you use the Samsung exploit. Because that uses "Elevated". Not "TCB"."
> What about "\Windows\Startup\"
That one launch what ever lnk (exe pointer) listed under startup directory. Would be an opportunity to restart after installed all "cydia" apps on the phone.
Another small but interesting find:
>Checking the mail launches another "servicesd.exe".
All those exe's of multiple sessions like "udevice.exe" and "servicesd.exe" go with an arg, right? then what is put in? Maybe an dll as arg?
>Then again, the custom dll (VS2008 made) will not run due it does not have "LV_ACCESS_EXECUTE", so that locks TCB out for dll arg inject.
udevice.exe (Driver host, runs under "SYSTEM" level)
servicesd.exe (Ordinary exe for dll host)
So making custom drivers wont work... (probably),
to be middle hand for executing under SYSTEM.

OK,I know that MS don't want to allow but I want to to know if is possible to hack it and do the internal XAP installer ? That's why I am asking.
I think that everybody who have unlocked phone will appreciate it !!
As everyone already said.. CANNOT be done. There's no, "I want to know if someone can hack this". The people working to bring full file/registry access and a better experience to all phones are too busy to worry about trying to make an internal xap installer. Just hook the damn thing up to a computer and use the applications to push a xap to your phone and be happy. I'm no admin or anything, but please don't pester over something like this.
Hi, I was using CM7 and yesterday morning when I woke up, it was stuck in bootloop at startup screen. I took a nandroid backup and cleared factory data options and installed new CM7.1 version (clearing cache or dalvik cache or reinstalling CM7 didnt help, hence had to clear factory data)
Now I have already used unyaffs to get the extracted contact2.db and contacts2.db-shm and contacts2.db-wal files... however pasting them in the com.android.providers.contacts\databases folder (using root explorer) gives me only 11 contacts instead of the 300+ it is supposed to have
I opened the contacts2.db file in notepad and I can see references to names and numbers in whatever sqlite format it is supposed to be... so my simple question now is.. is there any way to get the .db file to .vcf format or any other format usable by my phone ?
P.S. - No I did not use the google syncing feature or kies backup
Guys, some help on this... still without my contacts here..!
I cant post external links so google "convert contacts2.db to vcard", the first result will be this thread, the next three are the answer you're looking for.
Right... thanks! Unfortunately, the 3 links are for a ruby script and I have no experience with ruby... is that the only way ?
Put your contacts2.db into the same folder as contacts2-to-vcard.rb
install ruby, open command prompt and execute these lines
Code:
gem install sqlite3
gem install vpim
(path to contacts2-to-vcard.rb)/contacts2-to-vcard.rb > contacts.vcf
if you get this error
contacts2-to-vcard.rb:43:in `+': can't convert NoMethodError into String (TypeError)
open the .rb file in a text editor, go to line 43 and change it to
$stderr.print ""
I ran into this when I used it. after you edit the file run it again and you should have your .vcf file sitting in the same folder as the script file and contacts2.db

Don't mean to be mean, but if you haven't heard of the command prompt, perhaps installing a custom *Linux*-based ROM on your phone isn't the thing to do for you, until you learn the ropes a bit.
I managed to run the script, it also produces some output BUT I for every contact I keep getting the same error message :
Code:
Adding address failed: undefined method `to_str' for ["", "", nil, "", "", "", ""]:Array
Did anybody else get this message, too ?
Any idea what to do about this ?
Thanks !

Found this thread when searching for a way to convert a .db to a .vcf or any other way to import my .db contacts to my phone. I had performed a contacts backup using Huwaei All Backup, then rooted my phone and installed a custom rom, of course, not thinking that I was getting rid of probably the only backup/restore app that uses that filetype.
My solution was fairly simple. I found the All Backup apk but it of course wouldn't install on the phone, so I installed Bluestacks android emulator on the pc and was able to install All Backup on that. I then had to install dropbox on Bluestacks to allow me to move my .db to the virtual sd card, fired up All backup, performed a restore using my .db, then on Bluestacks used an app called Go Contacts to backup all contacts, which created a .vcf file, which I copied over to dropbox, copied over to my phones sd card, and used Go Contacts to restore.
More complicated than it should have been? Yes.
From now on, my contacts can stay synced with Gmail.
But overall the process took about 10 min including all the installs and whatnot, which isn't so bad considering I figured I was going to have to manually input my contacts one by one.
Hopefully someone looking to import a .db file into their phone's contacts will find this 'method' useful.

After some serious research on the web you are my true and only hero.
Sort of....
The only thing is, I don't get the vcard file. I just get the cmd flashing real quick listing my contacts. There is no way for me trying to time my screenshot button and get all my contacts. Screenshot: i.imgur.com/oXCye.jpg
I'm really new to this kind of thing.... I just put Cyanogenmod on my phone and damn god do I regret it. I have no idea what I'm doing. My backup didn't backup so now I'm just gonna have to live with myself. But I kinda do wanna have my contacts back. And I'm really proud of myself getting this cmd thingy flash before my eyes
anyways... what's next?
Thanks in advance
E: Ok Guys.... Problem solved.
If you open the File with Ruby CUI it will just flash real quick, but if you open it in cmd the list will just show and it won't disappear.
Then the > contacts.vcf part behind it and done.
Now I understand what I did and I fully understand you comment, and I feel stupid.
Thanks again
