Does Froyo give 3 button recovery? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For all those people who didn't have 3 button recovery but upgraded to official Froyo, does it restore the combo? Also, if I have used a fix will it affect the update?

HELP!

I need to find a way to flash 2.1 eclair on my factory stock 2.2 captivate. I called att for a replacement on my old one a few months ago because my power button was broken and they sent me this new one, with 2.2 as stock firmware (JI6) and whenever I use odin one click it sends me into a bootloop. My build number is 1105. I've searched and I can't find anyone else with this problem. Is this possible? Please help me someone!

Random reboots

How can i control or see why and which app forlces my phone to reboot?
Kind regards

First, try to check your battery pins... I did not faced that with SGS yet, but with HD2 sometimes it caused reboots.
Second: wipe all. then, install app by app... if your "naked" phone reboots, install titanium, and freeze app by app...
I get same issue after i upgrade to 2.3.3 via kies..
worse that the system will not kill the unresponed app and keep black screen .... I have to reboot by hand and await of a long time...

so it may seems that it may be an issue with 2.2-> 2.3 upgrade..

I've had this even whilst upgrading through Kies. Its generally because of a bad flash, just flash the rom again, if it was through Kies call samsung and ask them for the nearest service centre if you dont want to risk flashing yourself. It could be your nearest Carphone warehouse if you are in the uk and only takes a couple of hours depending how busy they are.
i would also update your ROM, your on an old version from Darky
10.2.2 SE is very stable
Ok,
I had to change my signature. At this time i use semaphore kernel and jetpack rom. I will try the logcat.
Thanks for the answers.

can someone help me with this?
Take a look here: http://www.sammobile.com/
Go to Firmware, type I9000 into the search box (assuming you own a Galaxy S, not a S Plus- in that case type I9001). Scroll to the bottom and you'll find 2.2.1 firmware.

I have the i9000t from Mexico's Telcel but I can't find it, I wonder if I can use another firmware to fix this...

I9000t?
Well this link http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...galaxy-s-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82
gives a list of firmwares. Scroll down until you find the firmware list for the I9000t, google the firnware (SOMEONE should have it hopefully) and then flash in as normal I assume.

The problem is that eclair Roms are to old that the links are from megaupload, so I'm having a lot of issues finding them

[Q]Root stock ICS 4.0.4.

Hi there,
I want to ask you all how do I root my stock ICS without installing other custom roms. I just need the stock to be rooted for me to install titanium back up and unroot it after the Jellybean official arrived.
I am having a lot of problem with game save files import and export. Cause most of the game save saved locally on phone.
Any help would be grateful!

Go through Dr.Ketan's guide..you will get to know everything about rooting.
I did the same thing when I first rooted my phone. Just rooted the stock ICS & was using it. So, under development section, you will find the kernel thread in which you will see Philz kernel. Select the one which is for your ICS version & flash it via PC Odin
just install the philz kernel using recovery and you will get root.
If I want to restore back to stock kernel, what should I do? flash stock kernel again?

Yes using mobile odin..

Use Exynos Abuse.
It will work on ICS firmware only. (Not GIngerbread)

Its the safest, easiest and quickest method to root.

I just updated thru Kies in Hong Kong, to 4.04 JB. I tried to use the camera and I had an alert blocking the camera screen and a message bar as follows "Tap and hold shortcuts to edit them. Also combined with it where the OK button was was a text box with the words scanning media in it.
Now, its working after I played with it, first I reboot, that didn't help. Then I accidentally put it into third party mode but hit the up volume to get out of it before it went into download mode. It started to reboot but I held the up-vol, home and on button until it went to the rest screen. I tried to just wipe the cache, but it didn't do anything, moving the selector up and down worked, I tried wiping cache again, no luck, so I just reboot. After rebooting I laid the phone down and started to look for a solution in here. So I go to try the camera again to get the alert message it had, and
Wha La, the darn camera started working right, the alert blocking the screen was gone, it came up as usual for a new triggering, but it accepted my selection when I told it ok and then it went away as usual, computers, micro-processors, no matter what kind, if you have problems, some times just a long shut down to clear the electronic memory will also clear the problems.
