WildpuzzleROM have that allredy. hmm but not the tiny bar, but when you drag that down it will be transparent.

I 've managed to extract framework folder.I opened framework-res.apk and found a lot of folders.I assume the .png i am looking for is located in drawable-ldpi folder,but the problem is that i cannot find which .png it is.If someone could guide me things would be much easier.Thanks Daniel for your response,can't wait for your themes...

sorry for activating up that old thread, but i'm trying to get my statusbar transparent at the momen.
I think al almost did it, there's just one strange "bug".
I changed all the *.png relatet to the status bar with transparent pictures, that does work for now i think,
BUT:
If my Screen is locked, i can see the background picture behind the status bar, if screen is unlocked, background picture is "cut" under the statusbar, statusbar is just black, if i drag down the bar, i can see that the dragdown menu is "sliding" between the statusbar and that strange black background....
any suggestions or tips?

If you have it working that far i cen tell you how to see it on regular screen too. You need to be running ADW.launcher (or launcher pro but i have no idea how to enable it)
In ADW launcher there is a setting for Wallpaper hack , in system settings i believe. Turn that off and you should see the wallpaper through the statusbar.

I guess there could be some similar trick to Launcher Pro.
ADW is working fine, looks cool, unfotunately i can't attach files here, if i could, i would share my framework-res.apk with everyone here
I did already build 3 framework-res.apk file, theyre similar to each other, no big changes done, just other style of the status bar and changed battery Icons, sothat normal battery icon is black/white, only the orange an red batteryicons are colored.
Launcher Pro doesn't work, there's no way to use it without the wallpaper hack...
at the moment I'm trying to build my own custom Rom, but have to read more about that before i can realy build one...
Does anyone know of a stock AOSP-looking theme for the Galaxy S? I have metamorph. I really love the phone, but I really dislike the dark colour scheme and notification bar. U miss my light grey and orange!
I too dislike the the notification bar, really the "shade" more then the actual bar. I applied the "all black" for the shade, but I would perfer a semi-transparent shade. what ever samsung did though makes it ugly if its transparent. it has a white background for the "notification" section and the "quick buttons"
Check out the vibrant section... We got all kinds of mm themes going on.. I'm here right now looking for something nice to port over...
I posted a vanilla bar morph there... Everything works but the clock text can't be changed from white..

Transparent AOSP lockscreen, struck notification bar and dialer. Eveything else still stock. Changed 3G icons. This is for gingerbread only.
Added 4G icons, Blackedout market

That looks good with the all black pulldown. You know what image that is? and I'll change it. Can not for the life of me find where that blue is in the pulldown either.

The actual notification pulldown bar png is called: status_bar_close_on.9.png
The notification bar background I can remember off the top of my head. ..
I would get rid of all the gloss in the status bar. To get it solid black behind the widget buttons edit the statusbar_expanded.xml in framework-res/res/layout-hdpi-v4. Youll see the color is set to #00000000 change it to #ff000000

Won't the gloss change with the different skins applied? I don't like the gloss either but I usually have the linear skin applied, so its flat black. I will change the backround of my power control images in the pulldown to black instead of transparent.

yes but not everybody uses rosie, for instance i run stripped so no way to change the skin.

its mostly the actually pull down bar...the one that would normally say bamf on it...u know what I mean.
and yeah it will changer if u change sense skinns...but u can always switch back to it.

For some reason im gettin stuck at the boot screen. I flashed once and it kinda took, tried again and got a loop, then restored back up tried again and straight to bootloop

Updated with blackedout pulldown as you guys suggested. Fixed the textbox images.
Flashed over a fresh install of stripped 1.1 and most menus and drop down are white on white only becoming visible when you click on something ?

i have tried multiple themes in handcent itself and tried custom stuff. but, the notification bar to the left of chats as well as if you hold down on a chat it highlights the hideous green color htc loves.
i just want that to be blue... so is this somewhere in android or what?

I'm trying to get my status bar transparent. I've tried using Ninja Morph and Metamorph. Using Ninja Morph nothing happens. When I use Metamorph I get a ton of FCs and then I reboot. Once I reboot the status bar is black. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
I haven't used the feature yet but jrummy has this built into his ROM Toolbox app from the market

Rummy method does work but only with certain launchers, eclipse default launcher work with transparent status bar but every other launcher doesn't
So I used UOT Kitchen to try and get the transparent Status/Notification bar. After I install the zip my notification bar becomes transparent however the status bar is white. I've tried using live wallpapers for Go Launcher and ADW. I've also checked the ADW wallpaper hack and I still get the white status bar. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
