yo wassup people
i got my g1 on cyanogen nigtly 25x or 27x some **** like that...
it has the kernel with extra memory and also that new radio...
so right now i wondder, since ive been out of the game for like a month or 2
what is the overall best rom you would choose?
i know that the gingerbread roms arent gonna be 100% even tho cyanogen got someone workin on it, so i wont ask about those...
but what about this new froyo by laszlo? or biffmod? sparksmod? how do they stack up?
i do a lot of reading but it dont help much and im already too busy so i cant actually test them all right now... so i wonder does anyone have prior experience with these mentioned roms, or possibly better ones...
any response would be appreciated thanks

Cyanogen has got nobody working on gingerbread on G1. EzTerry is the legacy master for G1 gingerbread and many variations of his gingerbread roms have become available. The best I found and currently using is Ginger Yoshi by Yoshua. You can find it in the HTC SAPPHIRE/MAGIC forum. Its almost hundred percent. Very fast and cool. Try it

They have been talking about Cyanogen taking on (or asking somebody to take on) gingerbread for G1/Magic since the day gingerbread was announced but that has been categorically denied by Cyanogen himself several times. As for trying Froyo roms goes, its your choice brother......but its a huge PSYCHOLOGICAL pleasure and satisfaction when you see "ANDROID VERSION 2.3.2" written in your phone settings......that phone which is two and a half years old....well I love it that we dream/sapphire users have fast and cool gingerbread roms while Samsung Galaxy people have just got froyo only.........LOL

You should definitely try FroyoByLaszlo. Its probably the best ROM I've ever used. I've been using it since v1, and I usually never stay on a ROM for this long. It's by far way faster than any other Froyo ROM I've used. Plus, there's quite a lot of themes for it, so you can do a lot of customizing.

Laszlo is fast and from what I've been reading, has good battery life. I'm actually downloading the rom now to try out the new version. I've been using CM 6.1. That is also a good rom. You might want to try both of them and maybe other roms to. Just to see which one you like. Use them for a few days so you can check stability and batterylife.
Thanks man, I am currently using ezterry's AOSP and I can tell you that it is much2 faster than biffmod, you guys should try it! you have to upgrade the spl and radio first but it is not hard!
Happy flashingggg!!

Anyone else looking forward to it?
Is it going to be released on the SGS 1? I get the feeling there won't be an official release of it for it but will anyone be making a custom rom?

i have no doubt that the galaxy s devs will make a port for our i9000's, i mean if theres a friggin honeycomb port, it just makes sense that they would bring us some delicious ice cream sandwich.
yes i am! i Even made a rom in ice style but i am not able to post it because i am new on the forum
Thats Awesome
I read somewhere ICS will be available to any gingerbread running device!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXihfs7DKPE
Watch this video. The presenter is saying clearly that this next version will be made available for every phone from new to old. So, expect it on SGS. However, the question is that whether it will run smoothly or not ?
Here are some demo features that will come out in ICS.

not only our future, their future
do we have any news??
this sdk dump is here
http://www.androidcentral.com/ice-cream-sandwich-sdk-system-dump-available-devs-and-themers-get-it
all the devices that had a gingerbread update would receive the update for 4.0 as well .. don't panic and let's just hope for the best!
I belive there isn't much ram on sgs to run ICS
And anyway, we have CyanogenMod. It will surely be updated to ICS.
One way or another we will get it.
How relatively well it will run on our device is another matter.
Hmm, can't wait for the Icecream Sandwich.

Totally agreed. There is hardly even enough ram for gingerbread to run as smoothly as froyo.
Android developers claimed today that ics is lighter and snappier. So i guess that means it will require less ram then gb. Its newer version so it is obvious they tried to make it lighter.

I`am real excited about this rom and i think others are too so i can imagine people having questions.
Don`t want to clutter up the dev section so i took the liberty to create this thread so people can exchange and share all kind of CM9 related stuff if you want
Will it have all of the S-pen functionality and the Samsung S- apps? Like S-memo?
Samsung hasn't developed the S pen ability on ICS yet, so it will take a while .
I'm not touching a ROM unless it's official.
Maybe I've grown up, but flashing ****ty buggy ROMs is not for me anymore.

When I flashed CM7 on my nexus one, it was far from ****ty and buggy. I'd call it official in its own way; rather refined, actually, with better performance and many more features than my previous "official" ROM. I don't know anything about CM9 yet, though.
hi

Too bad... could you at least return to the original ROM (assuming you were using original stock ROM)?
If you could give us more details...
shame
i just purchased the t-499 myself and its a shame that such a new/great phone has so little support, ive looked all over google and only gotten mixed answers and dead end threads. icant even figure out if galaxy mini roms are cross compatible to the dart or not. its actually a good phone with a decent screen if u change the lcd_density to 100 the resolution is pretty decent.
if someone can help me a little it would be greatly appreciated, atleast point me in the right direction.
Not sure where else to post this, but can someone tell me if I can use a bootanimation.zip on the Samsung Dart? I've looked at a lot of threads on how to do this, used ROM toolbox to move files around, but haven't had any luck. I'd just like to know for sure so I don't drive myself crazy and waste more time!

On he stock Dart rom, no.
Samsung apparently uses some weird proprietary bootanimation format.
I am running the CM7 port in my sig from the MadTeam Forums and it of course uses bootanimation.zip's and I even have enabled boot sounds on it.
It's a good rom, couple of really minor bugs like button lights don't work and slow to wake on incoming calls, but overall quite stable.
Bummer....I guess I'll have to wait til I can upgrade to a new phone
they have make new rom for dart

How do you change the lcd_density to 100 in the stock ROM?
I bought a S3 mini recently however the samsung UI is horrible its so sluggish and laggy you won't believe it you can't even open a web browser properly without some kind of lag.
My friend then told me you cannot install any custom roms like cyanogen MOD for my S3 mini because there is a L word at the end of it.
L meaning latin America.
Man I didn't know they had different versions of this thing all the S3 mini looks the same. And I got a good deal on it so I went ahead and bought it.
Its true its a little small at 4 inches but after a while I got used to it. I like it a lot and the shape and heavy feel of it is quite nice.
But wish I could get rid of this bloatware and samsung rom and put in a light and fast custom ROM.
NOT TRUE!
You can flash TWRP or CWM Recovery in Odin and then flash CM, PAC or AOKP even in i8190L.
Those rom's doesn't change your baseband, and as long you're using a i8190L baseband you'll be fine
(You posted in wrong section. It should have been Q&A)

WOW so you are saying I am not screwed? the L don't mean anything and I can actually use all these S3 Mini Roms on my L version? WTF
I taught you needed some sort of Ported ROM for the L version?
Not only CyanogenMod, but also PAC ROM, Ilussion ROM, AOKP ROM.
The ones that didn't work form me were Paranoid Android by Oliver, PAC MAN ROM and CM10.1 by Oliver.
Download the best roms from maclaw's webpage.

WOW thanks a lot man
One thing the thread said you need a specific model number for the roms meaning cyanogem mod designed for L versions else it will brick
Its best I do like everyone else and leave the stock rom and don't interfere with this phone. Cause if something happens I will be wishing I didn't interfere with it.
Doubt any rom can solve android lag anyways. Thats just how android is, only windows phone and ios are lag free.

was this a good fast rom?
anything else faster?
I noticed its really fast. And the uploader says it works on L version
I can't believe the massive difference it has had. so glad I am rid of this nasty slow ass samsung original rom
I'm using AOKP from maclaw.pl, it's faster and more customizable.
I'm using cyanogenmod 10.1 from maclaw.pl. Its a very great rom without bugs.

WOW thanks a log holy crap this is even faster than the other one
So happy about this website and this new rom
I was gonna sell my S3 mini because I was disgusted with performance you had to wait 2 and a half seconds to return to home screen when you press the home button figured its cause of the garbage Nova Thor CPU in these phones
Then I installed these roms and wow it flies like blazing fast hooooly moly
I still miss my i9100 S2 though. Cause this Mini is much slower in 3D games than the S2. But say what. Main thing is this rom has solved most of my problems.
I kinda miss the shortcut for the brightness adjustment slider in the drop down from samsung rom.
I was afraid of flashing at first but you guys has held my hand every baby step of the way.
I believe this is all I need now, no need for me to put anything else. Vanilla android is pretty much what I wanted.
So happy that nasty 3 second lag delay in the samsung rom is gone like everything you did took an additional 1 to 3 seconds to respond
