Hey Guys,
Does anyone know which version of id3 tags does the music player sees ? I have tried to use version 2.3 but the music player just ignores it. I know that it also ignores version 2.4. I have also tried using mp3 tagger pro and while it seems to be a great program it did not make the music player see the right tags. What is strange is that it would be able to see some of the tags like artist but tags like genres, it will always ignore.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what version of id3 tags does the music player see or if there is any tagger app that will make the music player behave in terms of genres?

Anyone?

No one? I just tried to redo all the id3 tags and then uninstalled and clear cache then reinstalled everything but still the genres are messed up.

Am I asking this in the right section? Is that why no one is answering?

ID3 tags are messed up for me. The media scanner seems to be making up its own genres. ID3v2 tags were not an issue with cyanogenmod rom running on my older htc hero. It's definitely a bug and I remember seeing this addressed by google in 2.2. Samsung problem. If anyone has found a solution, I'd like to know.

Some players use V1 tags, others V2. It is supposed to be that android only seeing v2tags, but it is not like that.
I still have tags messed up not able to organize then correctly.

What is your favourite Android music player? I'm trying to fish for a new one due to my stock music player being crap, and Winamp getting boring.
Is there a better player than Winamp, or is it the best by far? I am not just talking by what's on the market, custom ROM apps are fair game too.
Try PowerAmp.
The one from Honeycomb, if it worked.
Otherwise the one from Cyanogen 5.

I like using the Doubletwist widget myself. I have used Miui and like that player as well.
Winamp! Both on my phone and PC

Honeycomb is crashing. So the Cyanogen 5 one, why 5 and not 6.1?

Where can I find a working APK for this? I tried the one from the latest MIUI release (that had to be put in system/app to even install) froze whenever I wanted to enter playlists.
Also, on a side note, is there an APK from HTC Sense?

Whichever one is after they added the new nice graphics, but before the bundled and completely awful video player.

I'm a big fan of DoubleTwist. Nice widgets too.

It has last.fm support and synchronized lyrics. All you could want from a music player.
PowerAMP has the best features IMO. Best lock screenwidget , best headset control system, and best UI.
Winamp has a good start but it has not had an update in like 2 months? It has some deal breaking bugs for me, the major one being I cant answer a call if using lockscreen widget.
Poweramp is amazing and a wonderful widget.
The cm music player is best imo. Fantastic widgets.

They don't work, though! I am now using "Music Mod" from the Market, which is CM's music app, updated on a regular basis by its develooer. As far as I've tried, only the 4x2 works consistently... It's a waste, I like the 4x4. This is after 2 increments of bug fixes; CM is still on 1.6 while the market is on 1.8.
MIUI came with my latest ROM install, it is obscenely laggy...
EDIT: Why does everything fail once I post about its brilliance on XDA? 4x2 widget broke...

Well some weeks ago, I asked help about reverb and someone helped me with viper
now I'm searching for a music player that can show lyrics(like Sammy one does)
Since Sammy's player doesn't mantain the gapless playback and I will (when it will be ready) migrate to cm
Someone know a player that can show lyrics?
You can try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.musixmatch.android.lyrify . Im using it with poweramp and it does the trick.

Can someone tell me how to prevent google play music from uploading music from my phone. More specifically I hate seeing podcast that I have downloaded show up in the app. Am I missing something? Please let me know

It doesn't upload anything from your phone. If your podcast is downloaded in a format that's playable using Play Music then it'll put it in the music library.

Is their a way to prevent that from happening?
Not a good way. Adding a (dot) nomedia file (autocorrect won't type the period with the word) to the folder you don't want scanned as media. This would mean you have to open the files through a file manager rather than an audio player.
Summary - create an empty file called (dot) nomedia in the folder you wish apps to ignore. The dot is a period and no spaces

The walkman on the Z1 is awful, it crashes fairly frequently, skips songs randomly, doesn't show album artwork properly and keeps trying to sign into the Sony network.

Walkman works great for me, the best player I have ever had...
The only downside is the lack of lossless formats support...
(I also own a copy of PowerAmp)

Walkman is the best music app I have used. Use the download music info to get all the album art. It has never forced closed on me on my z zl or z1. Try and clear app data. As for links buy the app from google play, you won't find links to pirated software on XDA support the devs.

I used it on my nexus 4 due to only having 16gb of space. With the z1 having a 64gb card I don't need to use play music.

Not sure why your having so many problems with the Walkman Player. Have you tried clearing the data? I used many of the music players and even purchased a few (like PowerAmp) but for a free included app, Walkman is great. I fix album art with a mp3 editor app. Are you looking for a pirated copy of PowerAMP? Its worth the price.

I used to use Google Music as my primary player but I am in love with the walkman player. I used to use GMusicFS to mount those songs in Walkman but eventually found it easier to just keep my favorite albums on my phone as even with that I had skips in my music. I do keep it installed though in case I want to listen to anything else. At about 18,000 songs so far, I love that service.

How can I add album art? I loaded about 3 gb's of music to my S6, and only a few of the albums show up with the cover art. I don't see any way of adding them manually or thru online search. Am I missing something?
I came from an HTC One M7, and the HTC music app updates album art automatically. This is something I miss and would like to have again with my Samsung device.
Anyone?
