[Live Wallpaper] NEW VR Tunnel LWP by chopsui!!

Hey guys, just wanted to inform u of an awesome new LWP that i have been using on my slide with CM6... I found this in the N1 themes section but i thought i would post it here in case u guys dont wander like i do ... OP is as follows...

Ok, so the test versions I posted still didn't work on the Milestone. This probably means it's something very simple that I'm overlooking. I've updated the original file but the changes are pretty minor and shouldn't affect the N1. It *may* work on the Droid but I kinda doubt it. I'm going to try to get some help in the google dev forums. In the mean time, please spread the word if you like it. The more testing, the better!
Keep in mind that this is only a test version and that I plan to put it in the Market at which point you'll want to uninstall this one and get the real thing.

Vlingo App vs Genious Button. Let's fight!

For those of you who are not aware that the Vlingo app is available right now for our phone I encourage you to download it and give it a try. This app is a million times faster than our so called "genious button". I recommend that you make a home screen widget for quick access. Try the app out and feel free to post comments on if the app was useful or if it was a better experience than the genius button. Thank you.

I think Vlingo is better, but hopefully they can fix the Genius button in 2.2, it could have potential to beat google search.

I definitely agree. The issue with the genious button is the load up time. Smh. I just played around with Vlingo and realized that it is less accurate than the genious button. For example, when you text to Natalie "I miss you" it might text something else. The voice recognition is definitely less precise than the G button. I think the G button would be better if the load up times were better and if somehow they can give users the option to type what they want instead of only speaking.

after using both I personally prefer Vlingo. Dragon Dictation was extremely inaccurate for me unless I brought my 18-wheeler to a stop and turned off the motor (which defeats the point of texting with the G Button). with Vlingo at full throttle doing 75 mph the only thing I might have to fix is the final punctuation.

Update:I've deleted Vlingo because it was just less accurate with the word recognition. I've realized that the genious button is fast, but it is only fast once you open up the application for the 1st time. So everytime that you reboot your phone you should open up the genious button at least once so that when you do want to utilize the G function you can utilize it more quickly instead of the "PLEASE WAIT" that we all hate.

That's interesting that you found Vlingo more accurate, while I found it less accurate. I guess it might be my NY accent that Vlingo doesn't recognize and the G button does. Maybe the G button is from NY or Jersey that's why it understands me better. Lmao

mapping vlingo to G button
I think this was coverfed but in some quick searches I couldn't find out how to remap the G button to another app, in the intrest of truly replacing the dragon apps with goog voice search/vlingo we should include it here, anybody better at googleeze than I?

From my expirence when you download vlingo and press the "G" button it gives you the choice of choosing genius (dragon) or vlingo... just like after you download launcher pro or adw for your launcher program

It is more accurate. It used to recognize my ukrainian accent, not only your NY one . I kind of miss G button features since I have been using CM 6.x. I hope they will bring it back in an update we are all waiting for.

Yea its very accurate and works better than Vlingo as far as voice recognition is concerned. Vlingo just loads up really fast.

I am rooted an running CMY and CM6 doesn't that the dragon apps

Firefox for Slide

Does any 1 else have same problem with firefox browser when i try to open it jst fore closes and never ever get to see how it is on my phone. Does it just not support my touch slide or what could be the problem? If know so plz let me know been wanting 2 use firefox since im a big fan of it so yeahh, plz let me know soon what could be causing the problem. My phone not rooted normal rom 2.1update from t-mobile. Thank u n appreciate it.

If you read the message after installing firfox, when you try and open it, it will tell you that your device is not compatible.

Well it doesnt say anything all it does is i open it n jst goes black and goes back 2 my home screen so yeahhh!! So is not compatible for my touch slide then r wht!

o ok yeah only think i didnt like it is it takes a lot of memory but im a big fan of firefox but o well thanks thoguh appreciate it

The reason the version you all are trying to install isnt working is because it was compiled with ARM7 instruction. You can get the beta of the ARM6 version here...

Thanks for the link. I'll try firefox and see what happens.most likely I'll revert back to the stock browser (I always do). To me the stock browser works the best as far as smoothness is concerned.

Ok cool hope it works i jst installed xscope n its pretty nice and fast but ill give this 1 a try hopefully this time it does let me i least view how it is thanks n appreciate it

I recommend you not to waste your time. I just unistalled it. It was hands down the worst browser I've tested on the slide and I've tested a few on this device. Opera, Dolphin HD etc. Firfox was very laggy in my opinion and the text reflow.... ha, what reflow? There wasn't any. Anyone agree or disagree with my opinion? Please feel free to let me know if I'm crazy or not.

Dude i know i jst tried it n ughh wow this app is putting firefox down lol it was o laggy n jst ughh all the icons were all out of place ha. But o well, hope in the future the updates for that is way better n ughh a lot of memory suxx.

Honeycomb Lockscreen CM7 Nightly 4

I am only posting this because it pertains to the Mytouch Slide but is not posted here. ALL CREDIT goes to the OP Bizdady. I am merely spreading the word of this freshness for our middle aged device. If this is an error I am sorry.
For those of you who do not follow the Portal. Bizdady has created a multi device recovery flashable zip that installs a modified framework-res.apk (From my understanding) that has the new honeycomb lock screen. Just to satisfy curiosity I tried to flash it over the latest nightly (#8), but only got stuck in a code loop at the bootanimation (logcat confirmed). So it is defiantly build specific. I fooled around for awhile trying to see how to update it but got sleepy. Went back to CM7 #4 and everything went smoothly. Lock screen is nice. Check it out.

It looks like all he did was use the lock image and put a transparency on the jog tab bar.
We could easily do that and shove it in the res folder of our framework.apk.
Everything but the Lens lock screen look like they work fine.

Where might we find this?

I decided to finally check this out as it would be the final touch on honeybread theming my phone to the max. It worked well. The creator made a zip file for mdpi phones to be applied through metamorph. I'm running nightly #8

Also:
to avoid the htc pop up when selecting a word to change in swype. Instead of tapping the word twice, only tap inside the word, then tap the swype icon to bring up the word choice window.

I hope it does, cuz I registered my last phone on swype beta...

If it comes preloaded there is no need to worry about all the swype beta stuff. Plus it allows everyone who is going to make full themes able to include themes for swype also.

the htc evo had an update to include swype so Im almost positive that the thunderbolt will... I mean the dam my touch slide has swype stock

Has HTC ever launched a phone with it? Seems like they make a deal with swype later in the game.
anyhow.. as much as it sucks that they didnt include it... wont stop everyone from having it.
I need to reset up my dropbox it seems. I have an apk that might work, was built for the inc, but since the inc has the same resolution it shouldnt be a problem.
Anyone wanna try it out? send me a pm or email.
Also if anyone was part of the old beta, and still has the apk on your old phone, try installing it on the TB, if it works could you send it my way, I could make a few themed apks from it.

Im already part of the beta, but im still on the X and it wont download to my phone, because i cant get past the DISABLE SWYPE part

I installed the Swype Beta and it appears to not insert spaces automatically in the Sense SMS app. Emails works fine.
Kind of a deal breaker for me, since I liketohavespacesinmysentences.

Check you settings in swype make sure the spaces option is endless

It's enabled because it works fine in the email app.

I also noticed the same thing in sense sms, I use handcent anyway. I was able to enable the beta on both my fascinate and tb.

i hope that its a bug that can be fixed. i actually like the sense apps. damn cant wait till they root the phone and we can get android 2.3 on here.. native SIP calling over 4G will be awesome

No Swype
Picked my Thunderbolt up this morning and I will say 4G-LTE is DAMN FAST.
Phone didn't come with Swype but the beta is still open to the public and I just went and installed it and it's working just fine.

Seems the auto-spacing and auto-capitalization is definitely a bug on the Thunderbolt as well.

It actually was advertised and Verizon covered up the swype on the display with DLNA stickers.
