I'm trying to test out Vlingo's Safe Reader, and it is not working. I have turned it on, and sent emails 3 times, and none were read out.
I'm running Cognition 2.16.
Any body successful with this?
Any thoughts?
Guess no Android 2.1 support
It seems to work properly in Cognition 2.2 Beta 7 and Shep211's ROMs. I would suspect that it required Android 2.2.

I got my NC Yesterday. I'm flashing ROMs to the EMMC.
I tried CM7 and phiremods v2 and v3.
It bothers me that youtube won't work.
Can someone suggest a good ROM that MOST things work on?
Thanks
AFAIK, no current custom rom is "daily driver"
that would just be the stock 2.1 rooted with 3rd party launcher

Froyo 0.6.8 has pandora/youtube working. All apps I've tested other than slacker radio seem to work on it (slacker radio also only works in older versions of stock, it doesnt work in 1.1.0).
Id suggest Froyo 0.6.8 as it has flash, or 1.0.1 rooted if you don't care about flash and like the BN stuff.
It depends on what you need.
Here's what I've found from running Honeycomb v4 via emmc:
- Somewhat sluggish
- Market works, but is finicky when downloading apps; sometimes it does, most times it won't
- Bible app won't work; it's a must for me.
- Video works to a varying degree. I think youtube works fine.
- usb driver doesn't seem to work well. I have to adb via wireless.
- something was going on with su; you had to manually push another version (may have been corrected).
CM7
- Snappier than honeycomb.
- No video, unless done via flash.
- I haven't tried adb, yet.
- I think youtube was working on stock cm7.
Anyhoo. Like they said above, no real daily driver if you're looking for full functionality.
Hey,
So this morning I was looking for a way to get my Samsung Vibrant's GPS to work properly, so I searched and found multiple references to the JI6 firmware version.
After following the instructions and completing the install, I rebooted my phone and saw that I actually DOWNGRADED to Eclair.
I really would like to get Froyo (I had 2.2, but 2.2.1 is fine too) back on my phone, nothing fancy, just the stock version for my phone. I have searched the web and this forum and couldn't find anything referencing upgrading the SGH-T959, only the i9000 and Captivate.
I have tried a reset and I'm still on Eclair. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gavi
**EDIT**
I was able to upgrade after multiple tries with Kies Mini, I kept on getting fail messages.
Thanks anyways.
To Mod: I was looking for a way to delete post, feel free to do so.

Alright i finally got the Nookie Froyo 2.2 burned to my sd card and everything boots and runs smoothly except i am missing the android market ENTIRELY and i need to know if anyone out there has any solutions for getting market to show up?
Also i am running a mac if this has any consolation.
Please a link or anything will help me out
same here but on PC
I have same problem- any solutions? Also how do you turn off cell stanby?
Just got my Nook and I'm dual-booting Froyo and also have this issue.
Tried installing Vending.apk (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872621) but no luck.
I've tried two things after much research:
1) Using GPS Status to clear cached GPS data.
2) Wiping, going back to CM6 (which picks up a lock in a mere 15 seconds), wiping, and trying the same in CM7. There was a thread on the Aria with these instructions, I figured I'd give it a go.
Anyone have any other ideas? I'm getting pretty pissed at CM7 right about now...
I found a fix! ... of sorts. Maybe the following will help someone else who has the same issue.
I tried a different 2.3 Rom just to see if it'd work. For some reason, the Pure Google Mod works perfectly, but you have to have the 1.15 GHz kernel by wildmonks (as detailed in the Pure Google thread) for it to work.
I thought this was weird so I tried going back to CM7 Stable and flashing that same kernel. GPS wouldn't lock on there... >_<
So I guess Pure Google Mod + the 1.15 GHz kernel by wildmonks = Working GPS.
GPS now takes about 20 seconds to lock, which is slower than Froyo for me, but still reasonable.
Maybe the fix is related to the version of CM that Pure Google is based on? I haven't tried my GPS for a few RC's, so I couldn't tell you if that was the reason. But whatever, I'm enjoying
I had this problem with all version of CM7. Flash back to CM6 and it works. What I tried was installing GPSFix. For some reason I can then acquire a GPS lock after having run this.
Or it was a fluke and the latest nightly build I installed fixed whatever the issue was...
Hello.
So I've used Doc's ROMKitchen for both a custom 2.1 and 2.2.1 ROM and things ran generally smooth.. a pair of issues with the 2.2. one but errors that were my own to start with.
Now I tried to upgrade to 2.3.3 but unfortunately the experience hasn't been so smooth.
I flashed a stock ROM (First JVO then at a later phase, JV5), full factory reset, installed a Kernel (SpeedMod), installed the Doc ROM - And it's here that problems start. First it's the wizard that crashes... I was able to work around it, but I wonder if this is a sign of problems or it's nothing to worry about.
The biggest concern however is how no applications from those that I selected are installed, not even MTP control, along with the fact that I seem to not having any of the sounds installed or something.
I figure this may be related to either how I cooked the ROM or installed it, but would like to know if anyone else felt the same issue and knew how to fix it.
Thanks.
