[Q] Exchange Calendar Synch with Froyo - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

hey guys,
Bear with me here. My boss just came in asked me how to make his Droid with Froyo 2.2 Calendar work with our Exchange server. My experience with Android has been limited playing with XDandroid on my Tilt2...so I'm no expert.
Here's what he's got...
1)Gmail account w/ calendar is syncing correctly
2) Corporate Exchange acct - email synch's, event's created in Outlook on the PC synch with Exchange server & phone... but Events created on the phone do not synch with the Exchange server & PC.
Is the google calendar F'ing him up? or is he just SOL?
EDIT TO ADD:
The problem has been identified as PEBKAC. He wasn't specifying the Exchange calendar when creating events on the phone....

Email question for all you gurus

When i get my kaiser, i will be setting it up to sync with outlook at home (via a gmail server). This will sync all my mail with outlook, but I am wondering, is there any way to actively send and recieve mail, that would be reflected in outlook at home, on my Kaiser (without using gmail's website).
I believe this is a no, where i can compose messages, and they would be sent next time i sync at home, and where i will only recieve messages when i sync at home, but I am hopeful that there has been some change with this, as the last time i used this type of stuff it was with a windows mobile pda, with only wifi (i.e. not a smart phone).
Thanks for any and all input.

I think (and others here may have much more elegant solutions) that the easiest way to do what your asking (or at least what I think your asking) is to simply set Activesync on your phone to sync manually (and sync it only when you are at home). If you can elaborate on what it is exactly you are trying to do a better answer will be forthcoming.
this is what i have set up now:
My home comp, set up with outlook 2007, vista, etc.
My HTC Kaiser 3G via AT&T.
They sync when i am at home, so any messages i have composed on the Kaiser get sent, and any emails i have recieved since my last sync get updated on my phone.
If i set up an email account on the phone, it will use push email, and then i will be able to activly send and recieve messages trough 3g while on the go.
Is there a way (other then Exchange Server) to be able to activly use my Outlook Email account on the go, and have those changes reflected in the Outlook on my computer, without setting up a seperate account for email only on the phone?
Hosted Exchange?
These questions are specific to the Kasier but more to how ActiveSync works.
The only way that I know of to sync contacts, calendar and email with Outlook is to use Exchange. You can certainly sync POP email accounts and Hotmail accounts, even Gmail accounts one your phone and the contact info with Hotmail but not calendar entries.
To me the most comprehensive solution would be to get a hosted exchange account and then sync with it. You can install Outlook on your computer and connect via RPC over HTTPS (if using Exchange 2003) or Outlook Anywhere (if using Exchange 2007) Hosted Exchange services are not very expensive and they work well. Simple google search will give you all the details.
There is even another Microsoft Exchange thread on this Kaiser forum that mentions 2 different "free" hosted exchange servers

Sync Outlook Calendar to Froyo

Hi all,
Since Froyo now supports Exchange, is it now possible to sync Outlook calendar to Froyo? I'm talking about local computer Outlook calendar, not a corporate Exchange server.
I'm trying to sync my N1 to my outlook, just like how I use ActiveSync to sync my WM device to Outlook.
Do I still need a 3rd party apps for this?
Thanks in advance
Calendar Sync
I have always just used the Google Calendar Sync available directly from Google. It works very well and syncs everything to Google calendar and in turn pushes it to your N1. I was even able to install it on my corporate computer, which is rare.
darn..I was hoping it can be done natively.
As my corp policy doesn't allow some 3rd party apps (especially ones sending calendar info to a cloud).

Click to collapse
If you are using an Exchange server, then Froyo does sync both calendar, contacts, and email. However, there is a bug with all day events created via outlook - they appear off by one day on the phone.
actually.....beside calender...... how does froyo sync with tasks?
one of the major reason that I keep my X1 is because android can't sync with tasks in outlook.....
without full outlook support....it reallys hold me jumping from WM to android...

[Q] Does anyone know how to setup an exchange account so I can sync only my calendar?

I used to have a Blackberry and gave it back when I brought the SGS. Don't really care about sync the e-mail but I do like to sync my work calendar to my phone. I was hoping to use the company's internal Wi-Fi (the same I use to connect my notebook) to get the Calendar updates.
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks
... it double posted
Exchange server?
if so, then it's easy
just set it up as an Exchange, instead of email account when you configure the Sync Account in Settings

Corporate Calendar stops syncing

I'm running the stock ROM and have a corporate account syncing with Exchange 2007. A few days after setting up the account the calendar seems to stop syncing. I can modify and create new events on the server but they do not appear on my phone.
My google calendar still sync's, and K-9 is pointing to the same Exchange server for email and it's still receiving and sending email.
Removing and adding the account fixes this for a few days, but that's a royal pain. A co-worker with a Droid isn't having these issues.
Any suggestions?
Similar issue
Hey, I am having a related issue. I have a gmail calendar which syncs multiple sub-calendars, but only one shows up.
I have tried checking and un-checking these sub-calendars with no affect.
I'm trying out Touchdown for 30 days to see if it's worth buying. I prefer a unified calendar, but adding the Pure Calendar widget may make it a good enough solution.

[Q] Exchange calendar sync

Hi,
I'm using modaco FR15 default rom
I can add a exchange account, In my calendar I have my gmail account events, but not my exchange account events.
When I go to sync menu, I click on sync calendar, seems to work but no events show up on phone.
Which app should I replace for have it to work?
Thanks
no1 using exchange calendar ?
My exchange syncing works perfectly (apart from phone turning itself off! ). Sorry - were you sure to tick them, in the Exchange Account Sync settings (go into LG Email, into settings, choose the account, and then in "Sync item" make sure calendar is checked.
Edit: Sorry, I read too quickly that you're on FR15 - so you may not have LG Email app.
I have the same problems. I´ve decided to use TouchDown Exchange app. And it works fine. But one problem, it is not free :-(
But you can download trial version for 30 days.
One dummy question: where can i find type of my ROM?
Found the solution :
If you disabled the automatic synchronization (and then you want to synchronize only when you click on it (= doing it manually)) it won't work.
You have to let automatic synchronization and it works. I got my exchange + gmail calendars in the same time.
Good to know - thanks for letting us know. I guess you can always set the automatic sync period to 12 hours, if you want to protect your battery.
Well if I want to sync my Exchange Calender (Exchange Server 2003 Ent.) then the LG Mail Client (which syncs the Exchange mail) crashes on opening a mail).. Calender items do not get synchronized too. The little round sync arrows turn round but stop and then no sync??
Someone got a solution for that (except for buying an app??).
Hi guys
I‘m new here. I just want to ask how to exchange facebook. I mean to have all birthdays from my facebook contacts in my phone calender.
I know that is possible. But how.
Facebook is sinchronized.
