Vlingo, the awesome speach to text program has released a beta for Windows Mobile.
Unforunately, the Raphael isn't supported yet.
When I try to install the cab, it quits and says my phone isn't supported yet. I wonder if it doesn't support our devices because of a technical limitation, or they just haven't tested yet. Can we modify the cab so it doesn't quit on the Raphael?

I am testing it now and i think the problem is assigning it a hardware key since htc thought it would be wise not let anyone assign the hardware keys to what they wanted and as you go through the setup it asks you so pick a hardware key to launch the app from so unless you have a modded keypad.dll file you might have a hard time with this app.

I set what you mean. It's asking me to map button "???", but only button "Send Key(hold)" appears in the buttons window.
Loaded it up and mapped it to the talk (hold) button, then later changed it to the PTT button. It works, but it doesn't seem to like 6.5 much. It crashes when trying to send an email and if I try to say "email or text john smith" but if I say email or text and no name it brings up the window, but eventually crashes again. The errors are consistent with other programs that don't like 6.5. Otherwise it looks like some good competition for TellMe that should be released soon. I will keep toying with it.
The search seems to work well, although the program again is not finger friendly in 6.5.
Anyone have experience with VLingo and 6.1 or 6.0?
Are you using a patched keyboard driver? Or a ROM with a patched driver?

I'm using a rom w/patched keyboard driver.
I use Da_G's kitchen to cook my roms. He has the patched keyboard and you can assign what you want. But vlingo is buggy w/6.5

How did you get past the "Vlingo is not currently supported on this device"?

I used the cab from the 2nd post (fixed one) and it works with "HTC Fuze" and during setup, it force's you to map to the talk (hold) button, which you can change afterwards.
HTC Fuze
Hi - this is some great and clever work. We're glad to see users finding a way on their own devices. A few points to clear things up for you guys:
You are correct we don't support WM 6.5 on any devices.
The reason you can install on the fuze is because we did some internal testing and we allow the HTC Fuze model to make it through the install/setup. As you can see the graphics aren't fully there for this device compared to the other devices. As you mentioned the inability for average users to select a suitable key to map vlingo too on the HTC Fuze lead us to dropping official support on the device. For folks as eager as you guys - loves it - the normal touch vlingo.cab should install on the HTC Fuze running on WM 6.1. Please note that since this is a beta you will run into some glitches and since this device was not officially supported it may have more glitches than we'd like.
Please let us know if you have any additional feedback or run problems via our support channel - www.vlingo.com/support.jsp (the last question in the FAQ has a link to our support form).
Thanks for helping us with our beta testing.

Glad to see Vlingo here in the forums! I enjoy torturing my device daily, and look forward to 6.5 support in the future. As for the keyboard button remap, I think that was addressed in Rom update about a week ago from HTC, so this may solve the issues for the Fuze owners. If not, XDA users have apps to fix it. I also ran vlingo on the iphone and it's great. Keep up the active support and research.

I can map it to the send button, but it just comes up with the ???? button. Anyone get past this? I am on a stock ROM. Ideas?

This is exactly where I'm stuck. I'm waiting for the modded cdma keyboard driver to get past this. I don't believe there's any other way.

Anyone? Anyone with touchpro (sprint) been able to do this?
I get an error when I try to run the vlingo.exe. So I removed it from my phone. However, I can't seem to delete the shortcut from my start menu?
with file explorer, look in your program files and delete vlingo folder also go to windows folder and delete it from there...
What I don't understand is if there is a problem with mapping a button on Vlingo why didn't they just copy the iphone's UI so we could just push it on our touchscreen instead of mapping it if that was the case then iphone shouldn't be supported either.

Any way you can post a CAB of the patched keyboard?
I tried it on NRG's 3.0 series and it would let me map (prolly because he uses Da_G's kitchen) but it wouldn't let me send text/email or initiate call. It was pretty much broken.
So I grabbed the only 6.1 rom that is still somewhat being updated: Elite RC4. However it must not have the patched keyboard, because I can't get past the intitial setup of vlingo, as it won't let me assign a command to the "???" button.
I really want to get this working! I think it'd be a lot quicker sending texts since the spacebar on my keyboard only works 10% of the time... heh
This seems to be the most active thread about vlingo...I have an htc herald and am using the fixed cab from this thread. It seems the key to the button setup is to use the number 1 button specified on your device. I struggled with this for some time. although i have vlingo activated through my buttons, none of the capabilities are working. after it tells me to speak and it starts thinking it comes back with two different errors. both errors are telling me it can't find the server and to check my data connection.
I couldn't help but noticing that all links to drivers or essential files for hacking have 404'd (including the ones that link to intel.com).
Here's everything. All drivers, couple of ROMs, the bios update, the sdbus.sys and dumpsd.sys, the liberate cab for WM.
I'm running Win 8.0 Pro RTM and everything works except the SD reader. I haven't applied the bios update myself, because the shift I got is italian and I'm afraid that it isn't compatible with either the UK or "other" shift versions. The wifi has been working for the last few days, but it stops working if you toggle it from the shift control center, and only luck seems to bring it back to life.

Reply: i noticed that SHIFT HTC needs sometimes to swap to Win Mobile and you activate by clicking on the other OS.
For exemple sound drivers do not desapear on Windows side, but you may activate again by moving sound cursors on Win Mobile side. Then, back on Windows you get sound to work again.
only experience, i don't know for what reason that works.

Hi from France,
I have a problem with my teclat x98 plus ii on windows.
When I click on the screen it is working as a right click and open the extended menu. It is working like this in all applications (menu, control bar, application, desktop ...).
I have tried to invert mouse button on settings but it remains the same.
The windows 10 has been fullly re installled from scratch after a boot issue. Android is not having this problem.
I have installed manually all the drivers I have found from package downloaded on techtablets.
I am really thinking about a drivers problem but wich one ???
Thanks for your help and answers.
