Suddently i'm on 3e, wtf.. Plz help! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys.. I flashed my SGS with the steel-theme mod and restored a earlier backup of docmod (JPM/JP3) and now the bootloader is 3e and i can't do **** with my phone :/ I don't know what happened or what to do. Been googling a little but without answers... Please help me! THanks

I'd say go flash the Chainfire Kernel to get back to 2e.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
Then start from scratch with JPM, JP6 or JPA.
Or any of the custom ROMs, like Doc's, Tayatuma or any other.

And did you flash your stock kernel back after the rooting?
When the phone goes into this loop it cant stop unless I take the battery out, after doing that I try and flash the stock 1 again and it shows the loadscreen and then goes into the loop again. I need urgent help please... I think I may have done some things wrong... Dont know what to do to get my phone just back to the way it was after I updated to 2.2.
Thanks for replying

So you get into download mode. And you flash stock , but it still shows the fish logo? Just to clarify
No it does the same except it doesn`t show the fish logo, am I maybe flashing the wrong file or not flashing correctly at all?

Yes? So you can get easily into the download and recovery mode right? Try to flash some other kernel maybe. fugumod, cf root, speedmod or something .
What rom are you on and what are you trying to flash?
I am on froyo that I downloaded through kies, so now I tried to root my phone with fuguroot when this happened. Isnt there a way to go back to the stock froyo and try flashing fuguroot from there. Isn`t fuguroot and fugumod the same? Sorry for all these qeustions im new
Edit: The thread that i used is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010141

Fuguroot is just for rooting, not an actual kernel
Fugumod is a full kernel with which you can run your phone
And how did you flash fuguroot ? And where did you get the stock kernel?
Cuz right now I think you flashed a gingerbread kernel on your froyo rom after you rooted with fuguroot.
And the way back if you killed your rom. As long as you are able to get inside the download mode you can flash a full rom 3 parts (maybe with pit and repartition)
I can only get into download mode, recovery mode only shows load screen and hangs. Do I need fugumod to use fuguroot because the rooting wasnt successful thats what im struggling with. I only want to root my phone so I can use one of the lagfixes, dont know which one yet, can you maybe recommend a route for me to take
I flashed fuguroot using the .tar files in that thread throught odin, adding the file to pda and preesing start. It says it completed successfully but when it resets it wont stop.

Can you please answer me where you got your stock kernel from ? The one you flashed AFTER fuguroot? Then we can move further.
And also you dont need fugumod even though its a very good kernel. But not sure about the froyo version. First, WHAT did you flash after fuguroot?

So as I said, you flashed a gb kernel on a froyo rom. You need a froyo kernel. I have no idea where there are froyo stock kernels. For that you need to google or search here on xda.
or you can try the froyo versions of the kernels I wrote you a post up.
Ok thanks i will try that, will get back to you if i'm struggling
Edit: will this one work?

If no luck while searching stock kernels you can try this http://fugumod.org/zImage.2.7.tar <<< fugumod full kernel for froyo
or from here speedmod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756
or voodoo or some cf root. really no idea where the stock kernels are
EDIT: that one you found, I dont know, and no idea if it will work. But if you wanna go custom. Try rather the kernels I posted up. (now I hope you have the I9000 too : )
Ive flashed a stock kernel that I found and it hanged at the loadscreen, after that tried flashing fugumod and it`s been hanging on fish logo for about 10 minutes already. Will keep it going a while to see if something happens.
I can however, get into recovery mode now. Is there something I can do from there?

You can try to do a factory reset from the recovery first.
I kinda hope you flashed a kernel for froyo this time. And flashing kernel over kernel and also gb. It might break your rom too. Depends on what the kernels are doing and applying.
If everything fails
Since you know how ot use ODIN if this doesnt work. I think you should try a whole new rom install. Either the one for your country as it is froyo. Or maybe try out the whole new shiny GB
Hi i am trying to flash my rom with a stock froyo rom but i'm not sure if im downloading the correct one. Ive found them here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913&highlight=galaxy+rom
And im downloading this one : I9000XWJS8|2.2.1|2011 March|Download
will it solve my problem?
Edit: After flashing a stock kernel a few minutes ago i am unable to go into recovery mode and it still hangs at boot screen, can someone please just give a quick overview on how to flash the new rom.
Thanks

Well I have no idea what rom you had before. From which country and csc you have. Also why are you trying to flash froyo if there is gingerbread?
And I guess the flashing of those custom kernels I wrote you didnt help?
Probably .
But if it fails flash via Odin stock Eclair 2.1 with pit 512 and repartition checked is my get out of jail card .

Hi there,
I had the issue that after apllying FuGus kernel, the phone kept looping in the loading phase (showing the battery symbol) and doing something (busy indicator). Nevertheless, I just switched it off (this worked) and installed the original kernel. Since then, everything works fine.
As I am not allowed to post answers in the dev branches --> @nikademus: Thanks a ton!
Anton

3 combos buttons work ?
Vol down+home+power on/off ?
Vol Up + home+ power on/off ?
if yes, try to flash the correct rom for I9000M
If you can get into download mode, and Odin sees your phone, then it is very unlikely that you bricked it.
Just flash Darkys ressurection or stock Samsung ROM from Odin.
ok installed darkys, now all phone does is flash galaxy i9000 screen
managed to get past that screen and back to recovery mode, and still d/l mode, trying EZBASE now as i was getting as far as colour S then bursts of vibrations
UPDATE:
stuck on boot loop now, still can access recovery and d/k mode, after trying to install EZBase. is their any other siggestions.
pref, instructions and files for re-loading stock firmware for australia on it, if memory calls had 2.2 of eclair
still no luck people, any further advice please
I just had the same issue with my i9000m. Download the fireware I9000UGJL2.exe from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846913
It fixed my issue instantly. Then go to that kitchen rom website and create your own ROM. My phone has never been faster. GPS works very good, way better than before. Even cell service is 100000000000 times better....
ok, good news is i have it working stock rom and rooted, got most aps back on, now my issue is, i cant install clockwork recovery from rom manager, i tried it via odlin and got the screen of phone and pc and the exclamation mark. can some1 please help out as to how i can get clockwork recovery mod installed.
fone details are
galaxy S i9000I now just without the i
firmware 2.1-update1
baseband i9000xxjm4
kernal 2.6.29 [email protected] #2

Go to D/L mode and reflash the kernal.
So you tried flashing Chainfires JVB kernal on a 2.1 rom?
I think that's the problem....

ok thanks, what should i flash then, or how can i update to 2.2 or 2.3 without loosing files and apps ?
Man you should not try to flash things when you don't understand them.
For this moment you tried to flash a kernel that is for a gingerbread rom (JVB, android 2.3.3) on your Eclair 2.1. Don't you think you should read a bit more before flashing everything on your phone?
Go to the official rom thread and follow the guides to flash a gingerbread(2.3.3) or Froyo(2.2) rom
Ok ill put this as plain and as simple as i can
1. I am new to flashing
2. I asked how to do it, as after all this is a q&a section
3. I feel my questions hvae not been answered correctley
so i shall explain again and this time links may help
1. I want a kernal that will give me recovery options
2. I do not want to loose anything on the phone
3. I want to upgrade to 2.3
so i would like links please or someone who can take the time to write a quicvk step list telling me what to do.
You really need to go to main thread and all info is there, it would take ages to talk you out of this...its all out there, seek and you shall find, its tough love

[Q] GB to Stock 3e Recovery Problem

hey guys,
so i was bricked and then tried to use heimdall one click to stock, found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266172) that was for 2.1/2.2.. but i was running GB before it was bricked. i was unable to access the phone in download mode through odin (which i am more familiar with) so i had to use heimdall, which worked like a charm to unbrick.
now my problem is when the phone boots up, it goes to the 3e recovery screen.. and im not quite sure what to do next. should i be flashing 2.1 or 2.2 bootloaders through heimdall? or ive read something about flashing 2e recovery, but im not quite sure what it is. i figured i would ask some advice before i went any further and maybe make things worse. thanks for the help
closed. got it to work!

[HELP] My Phone Boot Loops!

There might be an answer somewhere in the forum, but i have no time searching (i would if i could) So please be nice and dont yell at me =[
So....
I used to have CF-Root Kernel installed with a xwjs8 rom installed.
Probably shouldnt have done it, but i upgraded my kernel to Semaphore 2.5bm using odin.
after that my phone didnt boot.... Decided to use odin again and flash semaphore jvt 1.8 and installing a jvt rom. Everything worked...
But i had no recovery mode... tried flashing CWM... It just didnt work.
After surrendering i just flashed the old kernel that worked, and now, my phone just refuses to boot, or go into recovery =[
I can still get in download mode...
Is there a way to just go back to a stocky begining...? just so ill know my phone isnt bricked for life.
Thanks in advance.

Either use sammobile.com to download the latest stock firmware for your phone and flash using odin or use the following link to get a rooted 2.3.6 GB rom with CWM recovery
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/odin-jvu-re-gt-i9000.6558/
nothig to worry m8 jus flash the stock rom using odin and do a factory wipe,if ya dont get the recovery mode jus use the hard reset *2767*3855# hope this shld help...pm me if any prblm.....cheeeerz
I am yet unable to try the solutions you gave me (due to my tight university schedule) , but it sure sounds promising!
Ill let you know the second i try this!
Thanks! =]
Works, amazingly works! =]
Thank you guys!
That was a v.busy schedule if you only got it working now...

my samsung captivate doesnt recognised by odin
this is Ravi kumar.
I m using samsung captivatei897..froyo..
previously one time during flashing with odin, my phone is bricked..
at that time i used hemidall oneclick stock froyo package..
then works fine..
then flashed with hemidall oneclick stock gingerbred kh3 package..
then i got cmw...
so then onwards i flashed with so many custom roms via cmw..
recently,
my phone doesnt recognised by odin when put in download mode..
it is recognised when its on...
i dont know what happened..
now i came back to stock froyo..
by using heimdall 1.1.1, i flashed speedmod kernal, then via cmw i flashed simply Aokp
but my phone is become slow while scrolling.,
opening any application, and lost its smoothness while drawing apps,screens..
pls guide to wipe off all data regarding all about kernals, modems from my phone..
bring back my captivate as earlier...
&what about odin???
now i m using simply Aokp
I flashed this rom (Simply Stock kk4) with the One-Click and it seems to have worked great. The one thing I noticed is that I have the kj3 modem. Was that intentional? If not, should I flash the kk4 modem? I live in the Chicago area and did a search for the best modem in my area, but I didn't really come up with anything.
Thanks for any help and for a great rom!
