[Q] Froyo on the i9000 from Claro (Puerto Rico) - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy S i9000 from Claro Puerto Rico. What can i do to get the official Froyo update? Can i install the European update?

Well good luck with that dude
It's not officially out in Europe yet, but you can still go ahead and flash it without any problems if you have the International version of the phone (I9000), which i think you do.
Just make sure u have the right CSC for your country
Good luck, let us know if you have any issues

[Q] asian firmwares vs europe firmware

I have an asian SGS 9000 and I was wondering if I can flash it with the latest european firmware?
Thank you.
Go ahead, minor difference in bundled applications, system languages and APN settings, been using euro firmwares in asian sets for quite a while...
U guys use xxjm8?
Is it good? No bugs?
If use voodoo, is it fast enough ( i got 180 apps installed)?

its safe UNLESS you have a Korean SGS (Anycall phone) then DONT DO IT! For some reason they brick. I havn't looked into it as I had no need but faqs mention not to do it.
I have an SGS 9000 from singapore singtel. Not the korean "anycall" version. : ) Lucky : )
Why do you want European firmware? You live in Asia and be happy. You don't need Europe.

[Q] Is there an UNBRANDED Froyo 2.2 for SHW-M110S ?

Hi. Thanks for letting me join this interesting community!
I've got an Austrian Galaxy S and I want to update the firmware to an UNBRANDED version of the Korean SHW-M110S Froyo 2.2.
But I cannot find it anywhere. According to the "AnyCall SHW-M110S" thread it was released on October 15th.
Does an unbranded version of Froyo 2.2 for SHW-M110S even exist ?
The reason why I want to flash the Korean firmware onto my European phone is because I desperately need the RECORD CALL option.
Someone please help! Thanks

There are apps in the android market that can do call recording as well but I have the Shw-m110s Korean Galaxy S and there is not yet a froyo update out for it.
BUT,I think, Korean firmware can't fit for your phone. m110s is not i9000, m110s just be used in Korea。Are you sure that you want Korean firmware ?

Mexican Galaxy S ROMs?

Hey everyone, I just got the Mexican Samsung Galasy S, it says its the GT-I9000T
I hate the stock rom because they removed all google apps. Plus I want to get rid of the stupid software from the provider (Telcel)
I wanted to know if this is compatible with the European or USA´s roms, and if so then I wanted to know what do I need to do in order to install one of those
Thanks in advance,
Gustavo
there no mexican roms available yet, but you could try the canadian bell rom (doesnt have spanish) or the Australian one (it has spanish) look for them in the development section
Bell one is not compatible. Dont know about Australian one, but an Argentinean dude over in the developer section tried a New Zealand one and reports it working. If you try it let us know

Bell one its compatible some guys on a spanish forum already tried it and its working fine

[Q] Latin America and Gingerbread on S5570

Dear friends,
I've been reading the forums for a while now. My name is Pablo and I'm from Chile, South America.
I bought a S5570 on July, and started modifying it since then. Right now I'm running on Gingerbread 2.3.4 KPK and ALMOST everything works.
As you may know, 2.3 isn't released officially on Latin America and I can't find any rom that works 100% in our networks.
The only problem right now is I don't have 3G, everything else is working fine.
The question right now is what can I do?
[Q] Is there a way to port the radio part from a Froyo rom?
[Q] Is there anyone from Latin America with a good and fast Froyo rom working on their Galaxy?
First I thought I wouldn't need 3G because there are WIFI networks everywhere, but after a while I realized that I really need 3G and can't have the phone without it.
I appreciate your help.
Regards,
Pablo.
Dude you're kinda late to the party!!
I' m in Colombia and I have my mini running KPK without any issues since August, anyways here is a link to a Brazilian page that will tell you how to update to the official latin american GB (it's from Costa Rica, but it works the same on the rest of Latin America).
Thanks for that answer, will try it and tell you how it worked out.
BTW, are u using some special firmware? If so, which one has worked best for you?
Regards!
I've used Andro-ID, tj_style's CM7 and Squadzone's CM7 overclocked, all of them have worked great and I really like the OC capabilities of Squadzone's.
Haven't tried the others but it never hurts to check.

n7000 region and unbranded help

Hey, my n7000 is shows germany in region, and now its on 2.3.6. i'm from israel and like to know if i should change the region for updates? is there a international region?
b.t.w the phone is simfree
If you want OTA or updates over Kies you need to install the proper Rom for your country.
You can find here

iirc, german models were one of the fastest to get updates.
more importantly, tell us which version your device is currently running. if its already on the latest version then its pointless to waste time swapping regions and wiping your device.
its the latest for now
android 2.3.6
baseband xxlb2
kernel xxlc1
iirc, german models were one of the fastest to get updates.
