Scoot CyanogenMod 6.1.2 RLS6
This is a build i have compiled from the official CyanogenMod source files and adapted for Kaiser/Vogue. Feel free to give it a go at your own risk!
All the usual things are working.
**THIS BUILD WORKS BEST WITH RECENT 2.6.32 KERNELS**
The build includes all the latest modules for the latest 2.6.32 kernels. If you wish to use an older kernel remember to apply the appropriate module update that goes with it.
I have attached kernels to this post which I personally use if you get stuck. There is a standard NBH which you can modify yourself with ATools with your choice of modifications or you can use the one I have already modified (Overclocked to 500mHz).
All of this is thanks to the guys working on the CyanogenMod roms and of course, none of this would work without all the hard work on the kernel so big thanks to dzo, l1q1d etc...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RLS4c :
Re-added YouTube app (Working a little better)
Removed HTC keyboard (available as an update)
Fixed Market
Fixed Android Keyboard text prediction
Updated Google Apps

Dismiss notifications by swiping
Updated Terminal Emulator app
Updated Google Apps
Removed 'Reboot' option (It doesn't work on our phones)
Configured to work with the latest 2.6.32 Kernels
Many Modifications and fixes

Fixed Lock Screen Gestures
Fixed some typos in a couple of the apps
Cleaned up some files
RLS5.5 :
No major changes, mainly changes in the build environment and behind the scenes
Speed improvements
Rotary lockscreen
RLS6 :
Updated to the latest 6.1.2 stable source
(Not much has changed CyanogenMod wise, changes are mainly in the AOSP Froyo source)
Updated to the latest zram (Compcache) module (enabled by default)
Updated to the latest Google Apps (Most are now in a separate update file below)
Gmail, market and quicksearch is still included as well as all the necessary frameworks
This is a complete rebuild from scratch because I lost the old stuff so some things may be different, let me know if you find anything weird
I've done all I can to optimise this build and get the size down

2.6.32 Kernels built from latest source
(VOGUEIMG-OC.NBH is overclocked to 500mHz by default)
I'm sure most of you guys follow the Kaiser thread also but for those that don't this build should work fine on your vogues too so hope you don't mind me posting in both threads.

Awesome thanks, always forget to check the Kaiser thread for builds. Will try out when i get a chance!
This build is awesome! Works great with the latest kernel for vogue. Super fast and has working facebook sync.
Ditto!
Before flashing, I would recommend adding Rogue Tools though if you don't have market.
Very nice fast build though!
Using the latest 10-24-10 Vogue NBH 2.6.32 kernel.
About the port
scooter1556,
I get force close when in settings-ADWLauncher-UI Settings-Desktop dots is checked (show/hide the nexus style pagination dots). When I uncheck it and the recheck it, go back to desktop and try the dots, the Launcher force closes.
Any fix for this? Appreciated for bringing this great port! Thanks,
Very nice. I am digging it right now but installing apps to the SD card seems to be causing problems (the card unmounts and the app does not appear in the drawer) Boot speed is fast which is great as well. I use the spare parts app just to tweak the END button behavior (Home, then sleep) If there is another way to do this I wouldn't need it

I didn't include it because i assume that most people use NBH editor to set there preferred settings in the kernel before flashing.

I get this as well, it could be my fault, i'll check the setting that may be causing it and get back to you. If it isn't that it is a bug with ADW at the moment which i'm sure will be sorted soon.

I also has the same installing apps to sd in fresh-froyo. Haven't tried in this port yet but i guess nothings changed. It is probably a kernel/driver issue which i will certainly look into because it will be a nice feature to have. There is also a script i can try to get this working. I will include spare parts in the next build
Cool, I always thought it was a nice handy feature in Spare Parts to change the button behavior so it's great it it'll be in the next build. Once again, great rom. The only thing I changed was ADW Launcher as I prefer LauncherPro much more

On the http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/files/?C=M;O=D site, I only see the latest kernel as 10.9.10. Where did you get the 10.24.10 kernel?

Nevermind, I googled for it. I didn't realize there were to places the kernel was being worked on. I forgot to thank the OP for posting this in the Vogue forum. I do not visit the Kaiser forum, so I would not haven known about it otherwise.

The apps2sd problem looks to be due to an incorrect path in the /etc/vold.fstab file. I commented out the existing line and changed it to use the path /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.1/mmc_host/mmc0 which seems to be working after a reboot. I've moved some apps, and also installed neocore which I couldn't do earlier. This is with a NAND install and a single 4GB FAT32 partition on the sdcard, I don't know if any changes would need to be made for other setups.
[Changed contents of /etc/vold.fstab file]
#dev_mount sdcard /sdcard auto /sys/block/mmcblk0/device/../
dev_mount sdcard /sdcard auto /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.1/mmc_host/mmc0

I was playing with app2sd a few days ago and found the same thing, the line i used was slightly different so as to not mess up sd installs but it does appear to work. Works perfectly as long as the app is compatible.
Anyone running this on the Vogue?
Only NBH I'm able to get this working with is the 10-1-10 2.6.32 NBH file
Any other NBH locks up Windows Explorer and never allow it to connect
Anyone using some other kernel for this build?
------------
Edit: the 10-1-10 2.6.32 NBH doesn't crash explorer - but still won't connect to see USB drive
Not a major issue as I usually carry a SD -> MicroSD USB card reader just in case

I can't get the built in mass storage to work either, adb works fine but i can't get access to the card from my pc while it is still in the phone. I have never got this working properly on any build that i can think of.
EDIT:
I will be releasing a new build later today hopefully with fixes to ADW, Music app, mp3 and other codecs working, apps2sd working and i have got the build in sd mount working (under ubuntu works flawlessly, i'll try windows in a bit).
I'm running your release 2 build with the 10-24-10 kernel and everything is works super smooth. The camera app does see the sd card in the phone and the gallery app isn't working for me either. How are the cam and gallery apps different from the other cm6 build?

I will try it, just to see how much our comfortableSense is
using/slowing the tattoo-comparing to the other.
Thank you for the effort!!!

hope you will keep improving it
Hope you will find time, and try to make everything that is possible to work.
would be VERY NICE if by some magic, our poor camera could work, while running any variant of FRO-YO

mobile data works, just remember to enter APN settings yourself.
and button light, is maybe because lights driver is wrong, ill check up on it.
Orientation sensor
The driver for orienation sensor maybe is buggy, even the calibration doesnt work.
Happy Birthday to me!
Thanks for this "new Tattoo" I'm getting on my birthday Installing as I write. I'll be reporting.

i think both kernel + sensor driver might be non-2.2 compliant..
anyways ill experiment, its just 1 day old now and im new to HTC, only worked on Motorola android before..
but as long as i find it interesting, its a challenge, so im hoping it can be improved, as most roms are 2.6.29 based, so hopefully it works.
Some Screen shots from this fantastic Rom!
Looks promosing
Awesome start
Pretty good at responding for basic function, based on the fact that you only spent a day in building it.
Well done
Few things noticed on the first use:
3G symbol alway on the status bar (in spite turning off mobile data)
and could you disable auto-rotate in the ROM by default.
phone model shows desire (is this adopted from desire ROM??)
(Attached a snapshot)
more bugs later
Thanks
Comments
There is a "DU" and "QQ" chinese apps that could be removed.
I couldn't test Transfer Data, but sounds like an excelent idea. Anybody tried it out?
File Manager looks very nice.
Flashlight seem to be to work with the flash non existing on Tattoo, therefore might be removed.
HTC Market??!! Anybody can comment on this app?
What is that Kaixin widget? Some more chinise stuff? There is a Widget all in chinees I couldn't figure out.
Stocks FC always.
Very responsive; Being a ROM with a few hours of live, obviously it is not perfect; however, I think it's already enough to prove wrong that idea of Froyo+SenseUI on Tattoo is too heavy...
I'll keep trying and commenting.

Thanks for all the feedback, some obvious, but i simply didnt check up on them.
ill clean up the rom for the next update, and hope to have better hw support.
the market and "Stocks" problems seems to relate to some Internet access function so when site is not responding the app crashes somehow, according to log files, maybe wifi is not perfect.
anyways, im testing if "tiny" gapps works differently, and with gapps the "NetworkLocation.apk" and Googlebackuptransport do not install at all, so that annoys me too.
flashlight app + CN apps goes away...
Ive added a very nice "Files" app from milestone, which gives you the option to copy from windows fileshares very easily. (not sure if its legal to do)
ill also test if my deodex'd ACE rom googleapps works better, although they are HDPI based :-( but scaling seems to take effect here on 2.2 , so maybe it will somehow work. as gapps are compiled for senseui, which might be why the CM6 gapps crashes?

Not sure why its always "V'd" , but if you enable it with APN correct settings its not the same icon at all, so maybe its the way of showing your actual network state? i used as similar approach on milestone froyo, when i found out how to hack the smali code and include new code to add new status bar functions, but it is not like i would do it. I added "E" og "3G" on top of the link signal , where this one seems to show network data enabled (as you concluded).

I have to deodex the rom to fix the htc-framework, where settings are included, which means it will be even slower, so for now ill keep it as is.
deodex'ing is nice for graphics mod's, but speed is actually better with odex'd roms.

Hacked together ramdisk. A "ramdisk mish-mash" if you will.
Pulled relevant files from CM. libs, /usr.
ril from ID.
We're lucky in that we're not the the first devs to port it. The Evo build helped us fix:
keys, lights, lcd density... more stuff that I don't know what it QUITE does, but I pulled it anyway.
Grab gapps from CM. I'll get a link up. Link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version
Scroll downnn. Far right. Clicky.
EDIT: Do a full boot of the ROM. THEN flash Gapps WITHOUT WIPING. After Gapps flash, do NOT wipe anything.
IN OTHER WORDS, DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING AFTER INSTALLING THE ROM (unless you're about to install another).
r2DoesInc is downloading my build now. Once he's all good, I'll post link.
And now, for the main event. What you've all come to see... the LINK!!
Wait, I lost it. Haha, okay, here it is. The LINK!!!!

Are these bootloops occurring on the device, or are you using an emulator to test it before you try it on hardware?

Thanks guys for taking this on. If you have read the threads you probably already know that this Inc forum is a pretty harsh place. I am not sure why but it seems like there is more name calling, belittling, hating and dev bashing here than any other forum I have been on.
All I can say is keep your heads up, ignore the haters/bashers and know that the majority of us appreciate the work you put into these projects.
THANKS!
This place is rarely like I can think of very few instances where that happened and I read this forum a lot.

This is a beautiful rom with similar features to MIUI, but has a few extras
It is based on the latest CM7 nightly (as of 01/6/12) :
Code:
update-cm-7-20120527-NIGHTLY-olympus-signed.zip
This ROM has many features:
A press on the statusbar leads to ics-like softkeys appear
Toggles in statusbar
Themes! Lots of themes!!
Beautiful transitions
Task Killer in status bar
Battery management and extension app
Data Manager in Statusbar
ICS homescreen transitions
SMOOTH!!
Long press an app that is running in the pulldown menu to force close it. - thanks to foxrivertrekker
BUGS:
Music Player is still HPDI and not qHD
FIX: Doubletwist player comes installed with the ROM - Use this instead
Lockscreen is also HDPI and not qHD
FIX: Changing the background of the lockscreen seems to sort this problem.
FIX: Use this extremely customisable replacement:
Simply Lockscreen
Bootanimation is not scaled to qHD either
FIX: Replaced the original bootanimation with the galaxy nexus one.
(I might work on scaling the original should others want it?)
Webtop does not work (a well known CM problem, I cant do anything here)
File Manager does not work
FIX: Use ES file explorer - Much Much better.
Fingerprint Scanner (has no option to use the fingerprint scanner as a screen unlock)

good job for this rom
This is a very slick rom like he said!
No hassle install, just did full wipe and no problems.
Everything seems to work on this rom except:
SD card manager, tho that seems to be known issue, wont connect to usb for storage or charging. It does see both drives on the phone tho as sd and sd ext.
For some reason wont restore apex launcher or find it on market??
It has a miui style launcher and interface that is very cool and easy to use.
Lots of themes, tho i cant get the lockscreen to be the right size on any.
Seems to run at 1000 mhz.
Just happened to notice if you long push an app that is running in the pulldown menu you can get to force close it from there, nice to know, dont know if thats in all the ics roms, never tried it
This doesnt have all the rom options of the others but has a lot of neat options, if you want a fresh new look, this one might work for you, need to fix usb tho!
thanks!

This ROM is now significantly more stable and usable than it was before. It is now suitable to be flashed by anyone that want's to check out basically a stock AOSP build of Android 4.0.4 with a few CM tweaks included. There will still be bugs, just report them to me so I can fix it
If anyone wants some screenshots, they are attached to this post.
This CM9 ROM is more of a stock AOSP build than a CM9 build. There aren't many tweaks available in the system section of settings yet, however as a consequence the ROM feels very smooth and responsive. As far as I can tell with my own testing, only the camera isn't working properly and the GApps don't seem to play very nice with this ROM for some reason. They install fine and you have access to the Play store etc, but Google Maps and other apps aren't installed it seems. Easy fix just go to the play store and download what you need.
Changelog
Code:
V1.0 Aug14/12
-USB/SD Card mounting now works
-Removed GApps (Available as seperate package)
-Wifi/USB tethering works
-Updated Trebuchet
-Added No-Frills CPU Control (I like it better than performance settings, can set it up so that OC values won't be applied if system unexpectedly shuts down)
-More stable
V0.5Beta Aug08/12
-Initial Release
-Apex launcher, ES File explorer, LordModUV, Auto-Rotate Switch, Titanium Backup apk's added to ROM
-Jellybean boot animation
-Smooth, fluid usage.
-Overclocking works without problems.
-Theme Manager works
-Wifi,3G,HSPA, etc all work.
Bugs
Code:
-Camera doesn't work
-Android Terminal Emulator crashes; Fix - Update app in Play Store. (My bad forgot to fix that, next release will be fixed)
-Gallery app doesn't work. Fix - Use Quickpic or other 3rd party gallery apps.
-Titanium Backup doesn't work. Fix - Use Rom Toolbox pro to restore your apps.
-Backing up apps doesn't work, can only restore apps.
-You tell me!
As I said, this is still a major work-in-progress and will have updates coming. I don't have internet at home right now, I'm only 18 and just moved out on my own a month ago and can't yet afford internet. Uploading my ROMs will happen at my parent's house whenever possible, so updates will sometimes be delayed.
My intentions with this ROM are to eventually build out more features in the "System" tweaks section as I learn how to implement them. I want to eventually make this a much more feature-fillled ROM. Right now, however my immediate attention is on fixing whatever bugs pop up in this ROM. For the most part, its very smooth and I have encountered very few hiccups/lag. Feature implementations will come slow however, as I don't yet know how to do it. I'll be learning so don't worry, it'll come eventually!

My pleasure! This ROM is the culmination of 4-5 weeks of studying any android guide I could find, decompiling many ROMs and apks, and countless nights left staring at the white HTC screen when my ROM fails to boot.
Although this ROM is also proof that anyone with no background experience in programming/software development can get involved in Android dev work! It takes a lot of time and dedication, but it's worth it in the end when you finally have something you can call your own. (Granted I used a CM9 base from Kaijura, but that's because I'm using a laptop and there's only 10GB left on the HDD. Not a chance in hell I can install Ubuntu and compile from source until I build a new computer in the coming months)

Obviously, as you can see above XDA is the best resource available for anything android! Those are only the guides and places I have bookmarked I read a lot more guides than that, I just didn't save them for future reference. Download a bunch of ROMs for your device and take a look inside each ROM. Get familiar with the file structure and learn where all the important files are and what they do. Learn how to tweak your build.prop, write proper functioning updater scripts, decompile tweaks and look at the source code to see how it was accomplised. Those are my favorite ways of learning. Also youtube has some decent instructional videos on how to compile Android from source.
I'm getting extremely frustrated with this ROM. Everytime I try to fix the bugs and change any libs or files in the bin folder, the ROM hangs on the white screen. I'm not doing anything stupid with the files, just trying to use ICS8.2 libs to see if it fixes certain problems. Can you simply drag and drop libs and other files like that from other ROMs and than just recompile? Or is it more complicated than that? How can I view the source code of a lib? or a file in the /system/bin folder? Currently neither of those files are viewable inside Windows 7 with notepad++ or anything I have installed on my computer. Also when I look in ICS8.2 I see that ROM has quite a few init.d scripts compared to my ROM. How can I incorporate more init.d scripts? What files have to be changed to get them to work properly? I know if you look inside the init.d script you can see what file it needs but for example-
Code:
if busybox [ ! -f /system/etc/liberty.cfg ]; then
busybox mount -o remount,rw /system
cat > /system/etc/liberty.cfg << EOF
There is no liberty.cfg file in the ROM at all. None. Not even in ICS8.2. Does that bit of code mean the system is going to create a file called liberty.cfg at /system/etc? Or does it mean the script searches for a file called liberty.cfg in /system/etc? I'm currently trying to fix the camera as well, and which files for our HTC Vivo control the camera? I know there are a few libs and a file or two related to the camera spread through out various folders in the ROM, but I wouldn't mind a direct confirmation from a more experienced dev or someone who has experience with this kind of issue on our phone.
Also I found the vold.fstab file was for the HTC Passion not the Vivo. I'm hoping changing Passion to Vivo will cause the SD card to mount properly. In the /system/lib/hw folder there is a file called camera.goldfish.so in the CM9 base from Kaijura, but in ICS8.2 there are 2, camera.goldfish.so and camera.msm.7X30. There's also a file in there called copybit.msm.7X30 what is that file used for? Is it related to the camera as well?
As you can tell, I'm using ICS8.2 as a kind of goal/inspiration. I look at the features and stability in that ROM and that's what I want mine to be like eventually. It's also pretty much the only up-to-date build of AOSP ICS for our phone, which is why I tend to lean on that ROM for libs and files. I prefer to make the changes to the code myself instead of simply copy-pasting everything, so I usually have the file I want edited open alongside the same file from a different ROM so I can see the code for both files and learn from it by typing out the changes myself.
Edit:If I compile the latest trebuchet.apk from github, will it be compatible with our device right away or will I need to make changes to the app to get it to work properly for our phone?
Thanks for anyone who can take the time to help me, it will be greatly appreciated!
Anyone? I'm seriously stumped right now. There's gotta be someone, a dev or something that knows the answer to my questions. Please guys?

The Camera is my highest priority right now, I will be concentrating all my efforts on figuring that out next. CM10 would be nice, but I'm not nearly experienced enough to successfully port Jellybean to our phone unfortunately. As soon as we have a JB port available, or if I eventually figure out the problems that come from porting JB then I for sure will release that as well! Just don't get your hopes up, I'm still very new to this.
Does mms have the wap2 setting like sense roms? Or is this missing as like all AOKP roms?

A few things about this rom, firstly this is a port from a Samsung device, thus it features control panel options not normally found in some CM roms, you MAY need to go to the app store if this has no on-screen navigation buttons.
I have added MIUI apps not normally found to round it off as a MIUI clone, I think this is something you folks will like a lot since your CM10 base is so functional to begin with. : D
To get themes, go to themes in settings like you normally would, It's been replaced with a fully working clone of the MIUI theme manager which can apply themes, and can browse themes online.
you XT925 folks are going to have to inform me of the working status of this in order for progress to happen, if any is needed.
So are the same things that are wrong with CM 10 affecting this ROM too? (i.e. Bluetooth music)?
Have any rogers users tried it yet? does LTE work?

The same for me. Boot loop every time. I even formatted /system. Erased /data and /cache. Nothing works.
It seems to work, as you can see the start up welcome screen, but before you have a chance to click on the "next" button, the system reboots.
It's an issue with the base, I will upload a working one either tonite or tomorrow.
Ok, for the next revision of this I will need a dedicated tester to confirm the working order before I put a release up, please PM me with some kind of real-time contact info

I can confirm it. I cannot restore my backups because the system cant find an SD. I can write to the internal and external SDs using the built in file manager, but for some strange reason, I cannot write to them using ROM Toolbox, nor any other program. also, for the same reason, I cannot download the Gapps file listed on the update part of the settings.
Thank you for your hard work.

Hello Tquetski. Any progress on this ROM? I guess you are really busy now, but I got so frustrated because you ae so close on this one.
I hope you have the time to continue working on this and future ROMs. Your continue support on porting for this phone is really appreciated.
Appreciate it as well. Also same USB problem as previous post about it. Same crash with media but when plugging in the cable or trying to use the gapps I used. Installed twice. First time the crash wouldn't allow adb, second time was with gapps from 20121130 and still crash on cable but adb works. Play store crashes with same media related file but youtube works. Perhaps youtube was already part of the rom....
Am uninstalling for now but can come back to it to test (Not a lot of time of the day for it though, but as much as I can) if you need it.
Also, don't know if it matters but I noticed that symlinks in the ROM don't work as expected, for example sdcard and /mnt/sdcard just return sdcard and /mnt/sdcard when typing ls. putting a trailing slash works, for example /sdcard/
I've noticed some apps rely on /mnt when they look for things.
update from above. Installed gapps from cm site and that went better and the store works. Titanium backups were on external drive and restored fine, as you'de expect. Titanium backup states, upon launch, Media Storage: not mounted but also then displays the correct amount of available storage for it.
So for example it says:
-----------------------------------
Root Acces: ok
Hypershell: yes
...
Media Storage: Not mounted
Backup Directory: /storage/sdcard1/Titanium
Then at the bottom
System Rom: 1.53 gb (1.09 GB Free)
Internal: *looks like the correct amount*
Media: *looks like the correct amount*
Ext. Sd Card: *looks like the correct amount*
-------------------------------------
Internal and Media in the above part are slightly differant than what df at the terminal says but not by much so it seems that Titanium certainly sees the space there in the second part but doesn't see it as the space its supposed to use.
I hope you can fix it. Thanks for getting this far.
One last edit; stock rom behaves the same way with symlinks.
File permissions of mounted internal sd card look the same, from memory, so its not something so simple overlooked at that level.
Happy to have been of no help
