I'm having the same problem here too. I have a rooted Hero with Extremely Black running on it and my wife has a stock hero. She can send and receive MMS with no problem, but mine has issues. I can't send MMS, even tho it never returns an error saying it didn't go out, and can receive most MMS, but some don't go through.
Any suggestions for a fix?

I was sent a picture message which arrived fine but since then it keeps coming back as a new message despite me not deleting the original. I have spoken with Vodafone who tell me it's a problem with the phone. Surely this is a software issue not hardware? Vodafone want me to return the phone for them to look at, I have no spare and dont really want to send it back if I dont have to. It is still as it came out of the box, no extra software installed and no ROM changes. Came shipped with Windows 6.1, apart from this issue, everything else is working fine. Has anyone else had this?
I've had the same problem. I haven't figured it out myself, either.
I will note, though, that I haven't had the problem since I flashed it with a new ROM, and I've gotten MMS messages since then.
I am unable to receive MMS since I started using CM 4.0.4 a few weeks ago. I can send it without a problem. My friend sent me 10 MMS, I only received 2. Is there any reason for this or is it just a problem with the ROM? Neither the stock Messaging app is getting it or ChompSMS. I have tried it with auto-retrieve both on and off.

What are you saying?
Could be a network thing ... but to make sure send your self 2 mms and see if they come back .I think this resets something in your carrier's servers
just open your messaging app put your number in select a pic and send
Ive already tried that, I receive the message from myself. But anyone else, I dont receive or only receive every once in a while.
call up tmobile and have them check your settings on their end, don't tell them your running a custom rom ...
i would say just reflash since it was working and stopped, (off topic) my g1's accelerometer stopped working out of nowhere so i reflashed 4.0.4 and it worked like a charm. hope this does it for you
ill try reflashing then, I called up Tmobile, they just concluded it was my phone and wanted to send me a new one lol

Help! I'm on the Three network in Australia and I'm pretty sure I've got the APN settings correct. I am able to send MMS fine but when it comes to receiving my phone seems unable to download the attachments.
When I get an MMS the phone recognises its an MMS (I know this because when I long press the message it shows thats its an mms.) However, all I am able to see is the text contained in the message but not the attached picture. The picture doesn't show up in either the stock messaging app nor Handcent.
I have absolutely no idea why this is happening, I can send MMS just fine. I am running CM6 RC1. Anyone experienced this before or know whats wrong? ><
I guess my phones just screwed.
Ive got the same issue as well, did quite a bit of searching. So far nothing has worked
Hi,
I have updated to Froyo 2.2.1 unofficial version I think, and now I cannot get my voicemail to work.
I have contacted Optus and they say everything is working from there end, but it still doesn't work.
Once I go into call forwarding it always say's disabled, it then refreshes to say that forwarding to voicemail box etc. If I back out of the screen then go back in it the same thing happens everytime!!
I think I have stuffed my phone by updating. Can anyone help as I really need my voicemail to work!!
Can I revert back to Froyo 2.2 maybe???
Somehow it has fixed itself overnight!!
Symptoms: I can receive and send regular SMS just fine. Calls 100% , Quality is what it should be up here in the mountains. However MMS messages I can receive but I can't send them including group messages that come in as MMS.
Rrcently took the phone back bone stock. Full firmware flash of the latest out on the web site. It started working so I flashed Cyanide with stock kernel and it was working. Flashed my favorite kernel and then the issue happened again. So back to stock and it's only hit and miss if i can send.
Would this be a hardware issue? Software issue? Bad network in my area? When I get it working it will sometimes stop doing it until I reflash the stock kernel. I'm trying to get pointed in the right direction to figure out why
Then I can fix it.

This will be hard to figure out as many things can effect it. The flashing I think has less to do with it then the act of it rebooting. Forcing a reconnect to the network could be what is causing it to work for a while. I would run a logcat and see if it picks something up.
